i think I joined when Ds was around 9 months old, so 2003, and then stopped posting around 2013/14 ish maybe, not too sure.

Seems like a life time ago and was just sat here wondering if anyone from then was still around, or if we all buggered off.

OP posts:

Cod was a teacher? For real?

LimitIsUp · 08/01/2019 13:26

Joined in 2002. Have name changed now and then.

ScrambledSmegs · 08/01/2019 13:26

Jeez. My history teachers were all seriously stuffy. Apart from the one who told us extremely inappropriate anecdotes about what and who she did at university Hmm

Jitters22 · 08/01/2019 13:35

I've been around for donkey's years - never, ever name-changed up until early July when I suddenly got 'ill' with crippling anxiety - came out of the blue - normal one week and a jibbering wreck the next (hence the name 'Jitters'). It's been a long, slow recovery ever since. I wanted to post on mental health threads without anyone knowing it was me.

I'm a lot better now - not quite out of the woods, but getting there. I've told myself that once I am completely back to my old self I will revert back to my original user name.

Re the less likelihood of a sustained fight breaking out - I agree. I remember I was pursued for a short while by a particular poster and a couple of her cronies in the early days. They would make regular acerbic comments to me. It think it started when I was admittedly a bit rude about her making her own baked beans - this was in the hey day of the lentil weavers

KaliforniaDreamz · 08/01/2019 14:41

ahh jitters could be perimenopause stuff? i got terrible anxiety and found HRT a great help...

NotGoodieTwoShoes · 08/01/2019 14:47

Since 2005, most of the arses who were on here then have gone, with only one who was banned for a while still strutting her stuff as "royalty"

zukiecat · 08/01/2019 14:57

Been here since 2009, name changed once briefly, then changed back to zukiecat.

Lots of names here I remember

Never really had any spats with anyone

Mumsnet has helped me enormously, wouldn't have got through some things without the wonderful support I got on here

UrsulaPandress · 08/01/2019 15:49

Just read on another thread that ShatnersWig is a man ...

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 08/01/2019 15:52

Yep Shatner's a man. He was on the dating thread I think.

endofthelinefinally · 08/01/2019 16:01

I have been around since 2006ish. I joined just at the time of the SWMNBN debacle.

I name changed just before my son died in 2016 and no longer use my original name. I am not one of those posters that anyone would remember anyway.

I have been so grateful for the support of the parents on the bereavement boards. I don't know what I would have done without them.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 08/01/2019 16:10

So very sorry for your loss endofthelinefinally Thanks.

That sounds unpleasant limit. Did the moderators take action?

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 08/01/2019 16:25

I started posting in 2007 - lurked s lot before that...

MN has been responsible for most of my experimental purchases, a great source of entertainment, info and general respite from reality when shirking from home...

My roomba is still working fine Grin

LimitIsUp · 08/01/2019 16:42

I am sure they would have done Ilovewhippets if I had reported it, but it didn't bother me that much (I found it kind of fascinating that adults could behave like that Grin)

GallicosCats · 08/01/2019 17:20

Does anyone remember minifingers? I often wonder how she and her daughter are getting on these days. Her posts about their arguments were painful to read.

She was also keen on promoting breastfeeding and was, shall we say, not afraid of confrontation.

Sparklingbrook · 08/01/2019 18:11

I do Gallicos. Not afraid of confrontation a bit of an understatement maybe.

GallicosCats · 08/01/2019 18:26

I used to be strongly reminded of a proverb about apples and trees reading her posts.

BollocksIsNoACompleteSentence · 08/01/2019 18:49

I have a bone to pick with you OP, this thread keeps coming up in my TIO and I keep singing " Here we are as in olden days, Happy golden days of yore" and it's all your fault.

Just posting so you can all endure the earworm pain! Smile

Smeeeeeee · 08/01/2019 19:00

Who was it that had a pet raven? I was (still am!) so envious.

QOD · 08/01/2019 19:05

No one remembers me 😭

I was a BMC member for a good few years and then came here when it went to pot

Took me a while to find my feet, ish. I’m much quieter on here than I am in real life but I read the board every day

ssd · 08/01/2019 19:07

I still think of biscuitsandbandages often, especially around Eid, I remember her saying her young sons and the baby came to see her all dressed up for Eid when she was in hospital, her story was so sad and she sounded an absolutely lovely women. I often think of her children and Mr Biscuits and hope life is treating them kindly.

ssd · 08/01/2019 19:09

I remember you QOD

ssd · 08/01/2019 19:14

I'd like to know what scottishmummy does and where she lives, cos I think she's actually a bit of a posh bird and she left scotland years ago..

ssd · 08/01/2019 19:16

I dont mean her actual address, I'm not a mad stalker Grin
