Just about to have a bath and want to listen to one of these.

Whats the best one you've listened to?

David Jason and George Michael are both favourites of mine.

Oooh tough there are so many! On a shallow level I do really enjoy David Mitchell's from about 10 years ago, he is very witty and also it's lovely to listen to in hindsight because (if you've read his autobiography you know) it was recorded in the time period where he had met and fallen for Victoria Coren but they were separated and he thought it would never happen. He speaks really sweetly about love and his hopes for the future and it's great knowing the story has a happy ending (they are now married!).

On a more serious level I did enjoy the Ed Miliband one...

I second Billie Jean King.
Very uplifting, positive, non smug, just Happy

PhilipSteak · 05/01/2019 19:19

Happy, appreciative without being gushy, person.
I loved it. I know so little about her, but she came across very well.

UrbaneSprawl · 05/01/2019 19:20

I always remember the Clarissa Dickson-Wright episode - funny and moving by turns, though I can’t remember any of the music she chose.

Lorralorralaughs · 05/01/2019 19:20

Tom Hanks is fantastic, as is Dr Sue Black. A very inspiring woman.

Martin1991 · 05/01/2019 19:20

Noel Gallagher was good. Funniest Lee Mack.

SinglePringle · 05/01/2019 19:22

Gary Barlow?!

Kathy Burke
Bruce Springsteen
Late Atkinson
Tracey Thorne
Nile Rodgers (for the ego!)
Martina Cole

There are literally thousands.... I love going back through the archive.

cheeseandbiscuitsplease · 05/01/2019 19:23

Sue Perkins and also Paul Whitehouse. Also Johnny Vegas. Very unexpectedly moving.

cliffdiver · 05/01/2019 19:25

Pringle, Gary Barlow was great, you don't have to be a Take That fan, give it a try.

hazeyjane · 05/01/2019 19:26

I loved David Baddiels (also moving) and Chris Packhams (great music)

Skala123 · 05/01/2019 19:26

Jack Whitehall David Beckham Ed Sheehan Stephen fry dawn french

The best one I have ever heard was Dr David Nott who is a vascular surgeon for the NHS but he regularly works in war zones around the world. He is an amazing man and his interview was so moving and includes a wonderful anecdote about meeting the queen. It reduced me to tears.

Others I have enjoyed are

Bruno Tonioli
Stella McCartney
John Motson
Emma Bridgewater

Dermymc · 05/01/2019 19:31

David Nott, he is a surgeon who volunteered in Gaza in 2014. Absolutely fascinating and incredibly moving at the same time.

Nigel Owens the rugby referee was also great.

I did enjoy Gary Barlow and also Tom Kerridge.

Usually I prefer the less famous people, they have incredible stories to tell.

NewYearsNiamh · 05/01/2019 19:32

Doreen Lawrence was very moving, as you can imagine.

Dermymc · 05/01/2019 19:32

Crossed posts with you @likablum. David Nott is an amazing listen. I have re listened to it many times and each time it is as good as the first.

PotteryGirl · 05/01/2019 19:33

Love the archive. Alan Carr was good a couple of weeks ago....Lauren Laverne is doing a good job..x

PotteryGirl · 05/01/2019 19:35

Clarissa Dickson-Wright...that was fab. She lived....😍

thesurreyyouth · 05/01/2019 19:38

Kathy Burke
Was David Nott the surgeon who was operating under fire and he continued whilst others left?
The stories are incredible, how people manage to achieve when their childhood has been quite difficult
There was a lady who described how she came to London to train as a nurse and she realised her dream or running her own hospital in her country.

Here's the lady who was a midwife and opened her own hospital. She is inspirational.

Danglingmod · 05/01/2019 19:42

I really enjoyed Mark Rylance a few years back.

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/01/2019 19:42

Victoria Wood
David Mitchell
Mainly the non-famous ones, glimpses into amazing lives that you knew nothing about.
