I am !

I have bought a shiny new notebook.
I have been searching pintrest for bullet journal ideas.
This includes couch to 5k (for the 3rd time)

I really need to sort my health and fatness (not a typo) out .

So if you need a partner in crime to give you a nudge or a kick then please come and join me.

More importantly if you are one of the few miracles out there that day feeling like this last year and actually succeeded please come and tell me your tales.

All welcome.

Thank you for your kind words @PatPhoenix I've got a week off work now because I have to some surgery on my bladder. I'll take the time off to do some reflecting and relaxing.

The only reason I have vegan food at work is because the kitchen facilities give me the heebee jeebees. I find vegan food is better for lasting outside the fridge.

PatPhoenix · 16/01/2019 22:04

God, a failure of a day. I've bought too much food again and ended up eating a lot of leftovers. I find amounts really hard to estimate - teenage son can sometimes eat tons, sometimes not.

Having a good exercise week in general - might try for a run tomorrow.

diamantegal · 16/01/2019 22:10

Well, thanks for everyone's optimism, but I think I'll just write off the first two weeks as an epic fail. Starting again on Monday and this time doing it properly - honest, guv! But sadly I think this means not drinking, which is not going to be much fun....

RubySlippers77 · 16/01/2019 23:43

I think lots of people here are being a bit hard on themselves! Please draw a line under your day if you need to, and accept some virtual hugs Smile

I've had a lovely day in some ways - went to visit an old friend and her new baby, so cute! - but it meant my step count has only just made it to 10K (rare for me, I'm usually on around 15K) plus I succumbed to a doughnut on the way home as it was 1pm and I hadn't had breakfast, let alone lunch. Followed that up with yet more carbs and now feel enormous! But tomorrow I'll go running again, and have prepped a few meals/ snacks, and I did fit in a trip to Lidl for some basics which helped.

sock I have no housework tips - my living room is an absolute state at the moment, thanks to DP causing loads more mess than even the DC had managed, and then snoring off to bed early - but if you could have a few hours to yourself at some point, could you whip round and do most of it then? Or any chance of affording a cleaner?? Honestly my house only approaches any state of tidiness when the DC have a decent amount of time at preschool and I can crack on with it without them here!

Howlongtillbedtime · 17/01/2019 07:49

Morning all
I am joining the pity party too . It's the TOTM and I have found solace in carbs.I am feeling a bit better today so back to the gym for me later.

ruby is right about drawing a line under a bad day (or two) and getting back on it. So that's my plan for today , a kick up my own backside Grin
I have another kick spare of anyone needs it Wink

I managed the second run in C25K earlier, plus am taking the DC to a dance class later - it's for toddlers but I think there will be a fair bit of Mummy making a fool of herself showing them what to do as well! Should be a good step count for me today Grin

Food is going better too, feel a bit more in control, only eating/ snacking on what I prepped. Also looking for a cheap freezer to enable me to batch cook a bit more.

If only the housework was done too then I'd be feeling very organised, but sadly not...

sockportal · 17/01/2019 20:49

I'm on a week hiatus from being organised and healthy. I had minor surgery in my bladder, apart from feeling dopey from the GA and stingy wees I'm okay, but want to fully recover. Good news is that I weigh over a stone less than this time last year and 6lb lighter than a month ago. The healthy organised thing is paying off. Only another stone and a half to go!

fatpatsthong · 17/01/2019 22:42

This week has been dreadful and I've put on again. I do so resent this!

Just trying not to over eat and maintain until the end of next week then if my drs appointment is ok (have a dodgy blood test to discuss) will go for 2 weeks of fast 800.

RubySlippers77 · 17/01/2019 23:32

Ouch! Sorry to hear that sock. Hope you're on the mend soon Smile

I know how you feel fatpat, I'm hoping yesterday didn't do too much damage for me. Good luck with your blood test for next week.

Hard day for me with the DCs squabbling relentlessly..... never ends. Plus DTS1 went suspiciously quiet whilst I was helping DTS2 and I found him happily painting the inside of my wardrobe with an old can of Airbrush Legs that he'd found (a temporary spray tan stuff, in case anyone hasn't seen it - turns everything a fetching shade of beige!). I still have that joy to clean up, it's really a miracle I haven't turned to Wine and Cake this evening......

WhoseLineIsItAnyway · 18/01/2019 09:28

My week has also turned to shite. DH just found out that his dad has cancer so emotions running high. Add to that everyone at work seems to want to offload all their troubles on me so I'm ready to hide.

Haven't run since Monday and my carb intake has massively increased last 2 days, but I haven't had any booze since the weekend. Looking forward to a bottle glass of something tonight.

Also going to a christening on Sunday which will be full of people wanting to know when we're having a baby.

On the plus side someone told me yesterday I looked like I'd lost weight!

sock take it easy while you're recuperating.
fatpat good luck for your doctor's apt.
ruby good luck with the clear up! Hats off to all off you doing this whilst toddler wrangling, I can't even sort just myself out!

PatPhoenix · 18/01/2019 21:47

God, it's STILL January. Feeling it a bit. Though I bought some daffodils this week which have come out really nicely and will be going for a nice walk with friends this Sunday.

Feel like I'm clawing my way back to a better couple of days. There is always a better day to come. Spring not long off.

RubySlippers77 · 18/01/2019 22:23

Really sorry to hear that about your FIL Whose, what sad news. I hope you're feeling a bit better by Sunday and don't get too many questions. I remember going to a BBQ with DH's family when we were being referred for IVF and it was full of kids, babies etc. His dad sat around making pointed remarks about how he loved playing with kids, his grandchildren were a bit old for it now, wasn't it a shame we didn't have any little ones in the family etc etc. I made my excuses and left early before I said something I'd maybe regret!!

I love daffodils Pat Smile hopefully those and the walk will cheer you up. January seems bloody endless.....

DP has come back from the pub (after drinking approximately half his daily calorie allowance!) and is snoring away in bed. I've made a low fat fruit cake and low fat chocolate beetroot brownies for snacks over the weekend - save me buying cake with extra calories and spending £££! However the kitchen now looks like a murder scene from all the beetroot splashes Confused

WhoseLineIsItAnyway · 18/01/2019 23:17

Happy weekend all. I've done Week 3 day 2 of C25K tonight but am now drinking port and have eaten pasta and half a billion mini amaretti biscuits. Blush

I love daffs too pat, think I need to search out some of those for a bit of sunshine in my life!

ruby choc beetroot brownies sound amazing! Can only imagine the mess I could create with those. Am keeping my hopes up for Sunday that I won't have to bite my tongue the whole day, or say something I later regret!

Howlongtillbedtime · 19/01/2019 17:10

Hi all.

I am sick which is really annoying. I took a funny turn at work and have been out on antibiotics for an infection. Probably ear but I don't have pain. I do however feel really dizzy and rubbish and tearful which is making me feel shite.

Sorry for the pity party again. I hope everyone else is having a more productive day!

OP posts:
WhoseLineIsItAnyway · 19/01/2019 21:01

Oh no, sorry to hear that howlong ears and dizzy stuff is the worst. Hope it settles down for you soon, try to rest and relax as much as you can.

DH and I have walked our arses off today and tested the difference between our smart watches. Over the exact same distances I've allegedly done +33k steps where he's done about 27k. Not sure which is more accurate, but we had burgers and toblerone anyway. Grin

RubySlippers77 · 19/01/2019 21:23

Wow Whose, that is impressive walking!! I'm currently on 14K, will probably get to 16K, that's about average for me. There's actually a recipe for beetroot brownies in the WW supplement of this week's Daily Mail but not exactly the same one I made..... and yes, the kitchen did look like a scene from Dexter by the time I'd pureed the beetroot Hmm

Hope you feel better soon howlong, feeling sick and dizzy is no fun, you probably need a really good rest.

The DC were a nightmare to put to bed today. I'm trying to find the energy to do some batch cooking before bedtime!

diamantegal · 19/01/2019 23:30

I am most definitely not being productive. Combination of a cold and epic fail means I've written off this week and will start again on Monday.

Honest!

Howlongtillbedtime · 20/01/2019 09:42

Morning all

I have weighed this morning and I have put on a pound. It's annoying but as I haven't been to the gym since Monday due to totm a and now this stupid infection. So all in all I will take that.

I hope everyone is having a good day.
I really want to go to the gym but I know I am not strong enough yet :(

PatPhoenix · 20/01/2019 09:48

2 hours of rowing yesterday must mean something - unfortunately we had roast chicken last night which is one of my many downfalls. I do enjoy lying around this morning knowing I've done some exercise! I'm also pretty hungry which is good, must mean calories are being burned. Boiled egg time.

SimplySteve · 20/01/2019 10:10

You need a takeaway, chocolate and cake to really trigger an (ignored) second thought. WinkWink

RubySlippers77 · 20/01/2019 23:48

Hope you're feeling a bit better howlong?

We took the DC swimming today and they were exhausted afterwards. Ha! It did mean they wouldn't go to bed for ruddy ages though, so I've had to rush around like a mad thing tidying, getting stuff ready and meal prepping for tomorrow. Really hoping DTS1 doesn't do his 5am wake up again - I'm starting to think he's nocturnal Sad

Irritatingly I didn't get to eat till 9.30pm either which is now weighing heavily on my tummy, but I was starving, what to do?!

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 20/01/2019 23:54

YouTube recommended this.

Caution for language. Lots of bad language.

Think the first few minutes of 'Four Weddings & a Funeral' bad language.

Howlongtillbedtime · 21/01/2019 07:21

Gleep I loved that . Cheered me right up this morning Grin

Ruby I feel you should sing it to your dh .

I am feeling a little better today but am staying home and. Will hopefully get back to work and normal life tomorrow. It's so annoying being ill. I have lost a week of couch to 5k which means I won't be quite ready when I do the 5k in march. Will have to try and squash an extra week in somewhere.

Good luck losers !

RubySlippers77 · 21/01/2019 12:05

No run for me either this morning as I had to take DP's car in for a repair, rush back, cook lunch for the little horrors darlings and now a quick look on MN before I collect them.....

I'm trying to get into a routine of cooking a meal every night for the following day - if I have leftovers I can then freeze them - well, once I persuade DP that we need a bigger freezer! DTS1 is a terrible eater - think plain pasta, plain chips etc - but I remember that I was too so am not getting stressed about it. DTS2 is a great eater and will try anything Grin

Can I ask what clothes everyone is comfortable in? Maybe that's a strange question but I literally only have jeggings and fleecy walking trousers now I don't work in an office. I'm thinking maybe some smarter clothes would motivate me a bit more, but have no idea what to try! I look awful in leggings but jeggings are not too bad. Oh and some old (but very comfy) yoga pants come out for cleaning days...

sockportal · 21/01/2019 15:23

@RubySlippers77 I live in jeggjngs and jumpers at home. I do my cleaning in a battered pair of fleecy pyjamas. I wear long sleeved thermal tops, fur lined leggings and pinafores for work. I would like to own some nicer clothes for at home.

I need inspiration for my hair. It's fine and slightly curly (on one side). I have quite a round face. I would be delighted if anyone could suggest a new hairdo for me. I'll add a photo of me, with my face blanked out
