I am !

I have bought a shiny new notebook.
I have been searching pintrest for bullet journal ideas.
This includes couch to 5k (for the 3rd time)

I really need to sort my health and fatness (not a typo) out .

So if you need a partner in crime to give you a nudge or a kick then please come and join me.

More importantly if you are one of the few miracles out there that day feeling like this last year and actually succeeded please come and tell me your tales.

All welcome.

Welcome thong it will come off I'm sure and because you have done it before you know it can be done. It's bloody hard work sadly.

ruby that all sounds knackering if you have to do most of it by yourself.
Give your dh a kick from me.I

Pat/Ann celebrating while eating low cal is painful . It's my son's birthday tomorrow and luckily he will probably eat the whole cake himself so I'll be safe.

diamante I bet if you have a decent day and weigh again in the morning at least a couple of those pounds will be gone.

Today is my weigh day and I have lost 2 pounds. So 3.5 all together which means I can get a new book. I have given myself a reward for every 3.5 pounds.
Now I just have to stick to this for ever and all will be well Grin
Will either get to the gym today or off for a walk.
And meal planning for the week to be done.

Good luck losers Flowers

Weighed in this morning and 3lb lighter than last Sunday. Grin

I've been eating low carb and also extending overnight fast - not managing 16:8 but doing 14:10 most days and from what I read, even that has an impact on insulin resistance. I am really enjoying low carb and as I can't be bothered to calorie count I think this might work for me, so I've signed up to join the low carb boot campers on Monday.

I'm am finding exercising hard. Went back to fitness class on Wednesday and going to a different class this morning. Not sure if it's the low carb or I'm just really unfit (not been since October) but it's really hard work!!!

sockportal · 13/01/2019 10:06

@fatpatsthong I am the same height as you and currently weighing in at around 11stone 5. Which is the lightest I've been in 7 years. I've been in denial about my weight for a long time and I'm aiming to get to 10stone, which is at the heavy end of healthy for bmi, but if I'm any lighter I look really unwell. We can encourage each other?

fatpatsthong · 13/01/2019 16:59

I'd like that sock thank you.

Took dds to tgis today so clearly not ideal. I fasted til lunch then picked what I wanted but still had a salmon veg tostadas thing and left one of the wraps so could have been worse. However, did share a brownie desert with dh and snarffled a good amount of his warrior fries which I adore so not great either. Have hit my Fitbit target though and have a small tea. I am going to have a glass of wine now too.

Have planned a healthy week except Tuesday then after next weekend might look at doing the fast 800 plan. Have lost with the bsd before but always put it back so the idea of 2 hardcore weeks then a slower but more manageable plan is appealing

sockportal · 13/01/2019 20:37

I've done neatly 8,000 steps today, which for me at the weekend is a miracle. I have no problem hitting 10,000 during the week. I'm lacking motivation to make soup so that I have nice healthy lunch at work for the next few days

Howlongtillbedtime · 13/01/2019 20:41

My step total for the day is.........

40000 Blush

I have not left the house. We have had a lovely relaxing day but very light on the movement !

So 8000 sounds brilliant to me for a Sunday sockportal

Went rowing today. I don't know what I really burned in calories, MFP suggests 760 but I never believe them. I certainly am knackered. It's actually great to get back to doing it again, it's 25 years since I rowed regularly.

Still ate quite a lot of birthday cake. So much that it was a relief to brush my teeth half an hour ago because it's over! Going to flop into bed and hope that I can send most of the rest of the cake into school with ds for his friends.

RubySlippers77 · 13/01/2019 22:12

Well done on the rowing Pat! I used to find that really hard at the gym (now I would find anything really hard!!). I've found an exercise class nearby that's early doors on a Saturday, so now I just need to persuade DP that he's capable of looking after his own kids for an hour and a half, even though it involves sacrificing his usual lie in and laze around.....

Took the DC to the park for a while to let them burn off some energy and get my steps up - if we did have a dog I think that would help, DP would far rather go somewhere theme park-y and very expensive than a simple trip to the park! DP is a bit despairing about getting his weight down but has at least acknowledged that it didn't help him drinking so much on Friday night, he must have had over 2000 calories just in booze. He's borderline diabetic and needs to lose at least 6 stone but I think all this flies out of his head when he starts drinking Sad

sockportal · 14/01/2019 07:43

Hmmm the universe is trying to ruin my organising. I bought a flask to take my coffee to work instead of spending money in Starbucks and Costa. This morning I was making my coffee and the glass from the flask exploded! I will be taking it back to Asda to complain.

Does anyone have recommendations for none exploding flasks?

RubySlippers77 · 14/01/2019 13:34

What a pain sock! We only have an ancient Thermos but now you've mentioned it, I might try using it a bit more - give DP soup or whatever to take for lunch. He was having salad with cold meat but I think will want w hot meal now.

Well, as I am still fat Sad, I decided the time had come to start running again... day 1 of C25K done. I won't fib to you fellow losers, bits wobbled and bashed against other bits (even under the enormous T shirt I borrowed from DP!), but at least it's done and I'm still alive. Although check that with me again later once the pain sets in, I haven't run for months...!

Howlongtillbedtime · 14/01/2019 16:51

Well done ruby I did wk4 r1 today and I thought I might be sick ! Was harder than last week to sure. But I am sticking with it. And if I have to keep repeating it until I can run without wanting to vomit them so be it .

It's my son's birthday today and there is cake. I am not actually a massive cake can do I am hoping to keep away from it. However I think he will want pizza for dinner so that could be trickier.

Just got to keep on keeping on !

I am such a fucking failure, put on 3 kgs, weight is now 74Kgs, on a 5ft 2 “frame!!! I am a fat faced weak kneed 50 something and don’t know where to turn now. Piled it on over the last two years since my dad died and a good friend died in early January so been comfort eating . What can I do, I feel sad, 😞

WhoseLineIsItAnyway · 14/01/2019 17:24

Happy Monday losers!
howlong & ruby thanks for your kind words during my pity party on Friday. Spent all of Sat on the sofa binge-watching Luther and trying not to binge-eat as well.
Did get off my backside yesterday tho - completed week 2 day 3 of C25k and made an enormous vat of soup and some yummy turkey meatballs for packed lunches (ruby thanks for the protein tip, i definitely think it is the key to me losing weight so fingers crossed it helps in other ways too!). Ate like a pig though, which slightly ruins the effort.
This morning I weighed in at 0.6kg down on last week and 1.6kg down since NYE. It's not going to be a quick process, but here's hoping that slow and steady will stay off.

PatPhoenix · 14/01/2019 20:08

Ach Cool Carrie, that's a rough day. The numbers are supposed to be just a helpful tool but very quickly they seem like a punishment Sad

I can only recommend exercise. I don't lose weight because of it, but grieving my dh was made a lot more bearable by walking, walking, walking - the rhythm and the fresh air really did help lift my spirits. The other thing is, mostly you don't eat while you're exercising though I have a lot of walking friends who bring big boxes of treats which doesn't help I've been on MFP for 3 years, it is a long term project.

WhoseLineIsItAnyway · 14/01/2019 21:11

CoolCarrie* I'm so sorry for your loss (and my earlier cross-post, which looks rather jarringly peppy just after yours). You absolutely aren't a failure and grief needs to be acknowledged.

If knees are an issue then cycling or swimming might be lower impact, but only if it's something you wouldn't view as a punishment.

RubySlippers77 · 15/01/2019 12:07

Carrie sending you some virtual hugs. I agree with Pat and Whose, gentle exercise would help you out; are there any classes you've always wanted to try? Swimming, pilates, dancing? I met my DP through dancing and it was good exercise and gave me a great social life. I hope you find some help in RL soon, as well as on here - you could also look at the WW/ SW offers on at the moment, if you think it would help you to have a more structured approach.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Whose but please be kind to yourself, TTC can be such a hard process. I found it easier to stay off RL social media (Facebook etc) to avoid people's pregnancy announcements, photos of kids etc, but maybe that's just me. Is there anything your GP can suggest?

I have meal prepped two meals, burning my finger in the process, and lost half a pound this week. Will do day 2 of C25K on Thursday probably as tomorrow I'm visiting a friend and popping into the massive Lidl near her. We don't have one near us and I don't get out much without kids these days so I'm viewing it as a treat!

muddledmidget · 15/01/2019 21:35

Well this whole losing weight thing isn't going to plan. I've lost nothing and don't seem to be able to stop eating crap. When I'm at work I think it will be easier at home, and now I've got a few days off I've not been to the gym and have eaten everything I can find

Has anyone got any tips I can follow as these 3st need to go somewhere?!

bonfireheart · 15/01/2019 22:04

Read this on the wall of the gym today
"The only bad workout is no workout."

bonfireheart · 15/01/2019 22:07

middledmidget sounds easy but the best way to avoid eating the wrong food is not to have it in the house. So maybe get someone else do the shopping or order online (where the treats and special offers are easier to ignore). Last week I ordered a Gousto box just to avoid going to the supermarket!! Have eaten better as a result.

sockportal · 16/01/2019 07:49

I am really struggling at the moment, I started a new job after having over a year off for maternity leave and now I have to get up earlier than ever before to get DD to nursery.

I am just so exhausted! Plus I now have no time to get the housework done so I'm living in a shit tip by my standards. I'm trying to follow the organised mum method but I'm too tired for even that. Has anyone got any tips?

I'm breaking my healthy vegan work rule, I have discovered because I'm on 02 I can get a free drink from cafe Nero today, I know where I am heading during my lunch break.

MawkishTwaddle · 16/01/2019 11:36

Struggling too.

I'm keeping up with the exercise, and trying to eat sensibly, but the biscuits with a cup of tea at 3pm and the last minute snack before bed insist on getting me.

I get so depressed reading threads on here about how it's impossible to be overweight and fit. Judgy threads about being overweight being a choice, and if only people ate less/moved more they'd all be a size 8.

It's bollocks. I'm never off my feet; I fling myself around my bedroom every day to an exercise dvd, I walk to work three days a week, I walk my dogs every single day, I garden, do yoga, cook everything from scratch, have takeaways once every Sheffield flood and STILL I feel like some kind of moral reprobate

MawkishTwaddle · 16/01/2019 13:23

Sorry. I shouldn’t have been so negative on your lovely supportive thread.

Blush
PatPhoenix · 16/01/2019 14:43

sock portal Sad that is a really tough time going back to work, if I'm honest I think you should be a bit gentler on yourself.

I don't think there's anything intrinsically healthier about vegan food in itself (chips, chocolate, wine all vegan, I can never lose weight on lentils because they are just too delicious for me, I could eat them by the kilo). I actually wonder if you are completely up to speed on all nutrients? But probably you are 'just' a working mum with a very young child who is knackered. I'm afraid I would think about reintroducing eggs - to me they are the perfect food, fast, filling, nutritious and tasty, and ds at your daughter's age would happily eat scrambled eggs (unfortunately he lost the taste again for a few years).

VanillaSugarCookies · 16/01/2019 16:01

I'm doing plenty of walking (between 4000 and 12000 a day) and eating okay-ish. Until the evening when I just want to snack and snack and snack and snack and snack!! It's so frustrating and I nearly always give in even though I know I will regret it as soon as I've had 1 mouthful. I am seriously considering paying someone to break my jaw for me.

Anyone else's days going a bit like this? https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsd3nulB7VU/?utmsource=iggsharesheet&igshid=121gib3x1s6ar

MawkishTwaddle · 16/01/2019 16:31

Vanilla yes, that's me.

Your name makes me want biscuits Grin
