Now about to take mine down. Christmas is over as far as I'm concerned.

BlackCatSleeping · 29/12/2018 10:52

Mine came down yesterday. Not traditional but I prefer to have all the Christmas decorations down before new year.

Didima · 29/12/2018 10:53

Mine came down boxing day evening.

GroundhogWeek · 29/12/2018 10:53

Coming down today, really want my living room back!

spiderlight · 29/12/2018 10:55

I want to take mine down today but DH wants it up until New Year's day :/

WiltedDaffs · 29/12/2018 10:57

Mine’s coming down today, I like having the decs down before new year.

QueenNovo · 29/12/2018 10:58

I'm doing it today once DH gets the boxes down from the loft.

LokiDokiArtichoki · 29/12/2018 11:01

Did mine this morning. To be fair ds (18 months) had already taken half the baubles off of it anyway so I just finished the job.

SausageSimon · 29/12/2018 11:03

New Years Eve for me! I like to get the house clean and tidy for another year of shit adventure Grin

wowfudge · 29/12/2018 11:03

How miserable - Christmas tree and secs stay up till 12th night here. Mind you, we don't put them up until mid December.

HolyMountain · 29/12/2018 11:04

Those who’ve already taken the tree and decorations down , did you put them up very early?

Schmoobarb · 29/12/2018 11:05

We will probably take them down next Friday. We only put them up around 15 December so not sick of the sight of them yet. I like them up for new year it’s still the holidays IMO.

Crikeyblimey · 29/12/2018 11:05

Mine would be coming down today but we have guests tonight so ‘keeping it christmas’ for a bit longer.

The bugger will be gone tomorrow though! I like to start the new year with a clean (ish) clear (ish) house.

BarryTheKestrel · 29/12/2018 11:06

Mine came down yesterday but had been up since 1st December!

Drogosnextwife · 29/12/2018 11:07

Think I'll do it tonight, want it done before new year

dudsville · 29/12/2018 11:08

Mine will be down soon. Oh likes it to stay up so it's a compromise. I've already collected the decs from the rest of the house. Can't wait to do a proper clear out of the storage area!

Didima · 29/12/2018 11:08

Up near the beginning of December but even if I'd put it up on the 24th it would still be coming down on 26th/27th I just like a fresh start after Christmas and the house feeling organised before the new year.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 29/12/2018 11:08

Twelth Night here, the tree and decorations are beautiful and would hate to take them down any sooner.

HarissaPaste · 29/12/2018 11:09

No wonder you’re sick of them if you put them up at the beginning of December

Scoleah · 29/12/2018 11:10

Mine came down Christmas Night.
Long day, Toys everywhere, as soon as the kids went up I couldn't help myself to pull them down!

Was so nice to wake up Boxing Day to a Normal living room!

LokiDokiArtichoki · 29/12/2018 11:11

Mine went up on the 16th and down today

MeetOnTheSIedge · 29/12/2018 11:14

I think key to ours is that they don't take up extra space, the tree is a short one on corner table which is usually bare, the other things go in spaces on mantelpiece, windowsill etc and they go up mid December. The house looks very drab once it all goes away.

BlackCatSleeping · 29/12/2018 11:23

We put ours up at the beginning of December and take it down on the 26 or 27. It’s just what works best for us as a family.

I do a lot of housework between Christmas and new year, so the house is tidy for January.

I know it’s not traditional but I just prefer it this way.

PersonaNonGarter · 29/12/2018 11:24

It’s a class thing. Sorry. Retail season: up early, down early.
