I keep mine up until 12th night but then I don’t out it up until mid December.

snowone · 27/12/2018 12:59

My tree is decorationless and all the rest of the decs are boxed up and ready to go away. I just need to dismantle the tree now Xmas Grin

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 27/12/2018 12:59

Mine came down yesterday.

Had been up for about a week and was getting on my nerves.

Feel much calmer without the twinkling lights in the corner.

Had a good clean, feels all fresh.

kaytee87 · 27/12/2018 13:05

DH will probably take ours down on the 3rd or 4th jan while I'm at work - he's off til the 7th.

Notso · 27/12/2018 13:06

It's still Christmas here, we've got lots of friends and family still to entertain and swap gifts with. Kids and DH all off until the 7th Jan so will continue until then.

mossyroundhill · 27/12/2018 13:07

I am very tempted to do this, however we spent both 25th and 26th with family so I have just tidied up for now, having a day of rest and letting DCs play with their presents and plan to get them all down tomorrow.

ApolloandDaphne · 27/12/2018 13:08

I took mine down this morning. We are off on holiday for week tomorrow and I didn't want to have to take it down when we get back.

WhiteWashGails · 27/12/2018 13:10

So have we, it’s now all gone but I’m 36 weeks pregnant and now concerntrsting on that

KittensAndChristmasCake · 27/12/2018 13:10

You old miseries, it's not even New Year yet 🤣🎅🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

PristineCondition · 27/12/2018 13:10

Same. And nope I dont put them up ridiculously early, I just live in a teeny tiny house.

Loveweekends10 · 27/12/2018 13:11

Left ours up but going on holiday this pm. Older dh staying here so she can get the benefit of it!

AuntieStella · 27/12/2018 13:12

I keep mine up until 12th night - I don't believe in cutting short a celebration!

OTOH, if you have someone with a late Dec/early Jan birthday I can see why you might want the Christmas stuff down, so they get their celebration (not just something tacked on to Xmas)

chemenger · 27/12/2018 13:12

Normally our Christmas is still in full swing until about the 2nd of January, with people staying, our annual board game tournament going on, jigsaw being done, party games being played, food and drink flowing. The tree goes up around the 18th and comes down on 12th night. The living room is a tip for the duration and nobody cares, least of all me. If Christmas is over what do you do for the rest of the holidays?

calmsealife · 27/12/2018 13:14

Mine came down Boxing Day morning, a nice relief to have my living room back.

sunshineandshowers21 · 27/12/2018 13:16

we’ve just taken ours down because my four year old has destroyed it! couldn’t be doing with seeing tinsel hanging off the tree and baubles all over the floor.

Strugglingtodomybest · 27/12/2018 13:18

Ours stays up for as long as possible. It looks so pretty, it's the best bit of Xmas for me.

Crackedvase · 27/12/2018 13:20

Boxing day morning, all packed away, house given a good clean and a big dinner after. Felt amazing sitting down to a clean living room last night x

Jenala · 27/12/2018 13:21

Did mine last night. I look forward to Christmas and enjoy it but it's done now!

PristineCondition · 27/12/2018 13:22

If Christmas is over what do you do for the rest of the holidays?

Putting a tree down doesn’t mean it’s over, we still do family things. We don’t power down till next December

madmum5811 · 27/12/2018 13:23

wow none of you are superstitious then.

confusedandemployed · 27/12/2018 13:23

Miner's usually down by now but we've hardly been here so it's not annoying me as it usually does after the 25th. It'll come down tomorrow though.

Aaaahfuck · 27/12/2018 14:28

I keep mine up for as long as possible. I love Christmas decorations so would not want to cut it short!

PristineCondition · 27/12/2018 14:34

wow none of you are superstitious then.

No because I’m a grown up

arealnamechanger · 27/12/2018 14:42

I love that some posters think that taking the tree down sooner rather than later means you spend the rest of the holidays sitting in the dark, crying Grin

Bloominglovely · 27/12/2018 14:44

Nah still have gifts under it for people and family we have yet to meet. I will take it down on New Year's Day probably.
