Me tooooo!!! Loving being able to see my whole window again - I have kept up some lights as daughter was a little horrified 😂

DappledThings · 27/12/2018 16:27

If it was down to me I wouldn't bother with a tree or any decorations at all. But as we do put them there's no way they'd come down early. It's just wrong! The 3 French Hens only arrived today, there's ages to go!

StillMedusa · 27/12/2018 16:32

Mine came down today... it's been up 2 weeks which is longer than usual..usually a week. I have left some lights round the fireplace though as they are nice and may stay there!

Our tree is rather large (looked much smaller in the shop!) and takes up too much space. All nice and clean and airy feeling now! If I lived alone I wouldn't put one up at all. I don't mind Xmas but I don't feel the need to prolong it either :)

I've still got family and friends to celebrate with yet, Christmas is only half way through for me and one of my favourite times of the year so tree will be up another week at least

Christmasisforadults2 · 27/12/2018 17:46

Same, once the 10
Months old knocked it down Boxing Day I had the excuse to get rid. But r
Still have some decs up.

Just been reading about Michael Gove’s son who tripped over their tree and fell through the French windows. (He’s been stitched up and is ok).

Mine will be planted out again on NYE so there is more room for the party that evening.

@squeakywheelies - sorry to hear about your problems :-(

VeniVidiViciTwice · 27/12/2018 17:57

I would like to as we had it up earlier than normal this year but won't yet because a) the children won't let me b) we will be having a rerun of Christmas day with full Christmas Dinner on news year's day (but not presents) as that is dh next day off, as Christmas day went a bit pear shaped to say the least!

I am feeling a little swamped by it and the piles of stuff everywhere which doesn't normally bother me this soon!

Betsy86 · 27/12/2018 17:58

Took mine down this afternoon was trying to tidy up abit and got carried away 😂 have made a big recycling pile of cardboard etc for a tip run and now need a house blitz and good sort out. Hoping to start the new year tidy and fresh x

WhiteDust · 27/12/2018 18:19

Mine comes down on New Year's Day. Every year!

museumum · 27/12/2018 18:25

You’re all mad!!!
The week between Xmas and new year is ALL about the tree and lighting the fire and lovely coziness.

GoldenHoops · 27/12/2018 18:52

Squeakywheelies
That sounds very hard to cope with and I bet you don't get any respite. My dh has asked me to consider boarding school for one of ours.☕🍰

As the tree and stuff , it all stays up until New Years Day.

cushioncovers · 27/12/2018 19:00

Mine will be coming down on Sunday.
