How much alcohol do you have in your house right now?

Just curious as I've only realised we've a good selection, we wouldn't normally have this much even at Christmas but had a party recently and also received a few gifts.
So right now we've two bottles of whiskey, one open but not much missing, a bottle of brandy, a litre bottle of vodka, a full bottle of gin and a bottle of gin with not much left and about a third bottle of Sambuca. We also have a fair bit new lager, cider and numerous bottles of red and white wine.
The wine will be well used over the coming weeks, but the rest will probably be there next Christmas, still I must admit it's nice having decent selection to offer guests.

A small tub of frozen white wine in the freezer for risotto.
Nothing else. It makes me feel rotten since I hit middle age.

Hofuckingho · 25/12/2018 19:01

There's a very small amount of brandy left over from cooking.

GrumpyOldMare · 25/12/2018 19:02

Half a bottle of whisky I bought about 3 years ago.
A can of Thatchers bought 2 years ago.
And a bottle of Baileys I got given as a present today.

Oh and half a glass of wine.

Not enough to deal with the people in my house in an effective manner!

MyPatronusIsAHyena · 25/12/2018 19:03

We have a bottle of red wine that was a gift from the local newsagents. We'll be passing it on though as DH and I don't drink Xmas Smile

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 25/12/2018 19:03

None! I can't drink.

Various soft drinks are scattered around though Xmas Smile

gamerwidow · 25/12/2018 19:03

1.5 bottles prosecco, 1 bottle champagne, 1.5 bottles baileys, 1 bottle red, 18 cans of lager. Much more than normal it'll take us ages to drink most of it was gifted to us.

AnyFucker · 25/12/2018 19:04

wonkylegs · 25/12/2018 19:06

Loads and loads - I collect Gins and DH malt whisky and I also make fruit gin / brandy
Unfortunately I'm not at home so I'm on tea.

BrieAndChilli · 25/12/2018 19:06

Few bottles of wine, 1.5 bottles of baileys, small bottle of creme brûlée liqueur, gingerbread gin, pink gin, and that’s it.

MyOtherProfile · 25/12/2018 19:06

A few bottles of red in the cupboard, couple of white in the fridge, few different bottles of gin, a few bottkes of cider and beer in the fridge and a bottle of whiskey we keep purely for pouring over the Christmas pud every year.

We don't drink much ourselves but like to have enough in for visitors.

Oh and the obligatory bottle of Christmas Bailey's that is half drunk now.

Nenic · 25/12/2018 19:06

30 bottles of gin (I collect gin) 3 chablis, 18 cans lager, 6 red wine, 4 white wine, 1 vodka, 1 southern comfort and whiskey.

ShotsFired · 25/12/2018 19:07

About 4 bottles of very good champagne, couple bottles cava, some vodka, several bottled of red and maybe some other bottles at the back.

But I've had most of it months/years. I like it all, just don't drink very much - this widespread concept of daily wine just seems pointless.

But in a hypocritical twist, as and when I do drink, I can easily knock back a full bottle or two of fizz or wine myself. One of the cavas is nicely chilled right now, but so far today I've simply preferred water or tea.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 25/12/2018 19:08

Wine and champagne, about 40 bottles. One bottle of gin.

Seniorschoolmum · 25/12/2018 19:09

4 bottles of wine from my suppliers. One bottle whisky and a bottle of port - both unopened.
I don’t drink much now. The occasional glass of fizz.

Enko · 25/12/2018 19:10

A fair bit but we always do. Not that we are heavy drinkers. However

whisky
baileys
almond baileys
port
Tia Maria
rum
vodka
gin x 21 (I am fond of gin)
contreau
snaps
champagne
prosecco (present for christmas I dont like it)
Cassis
red and white wine
beer and cider
buck's fizz

IWouldPreferNotTo · 25/12/2018 19:10

Well my brother, father and I got a bit competitive over bringing best of local beer. So we've got a pin of ale, I brought about 30 cans and little brother bought about 40 cans. This is on top of the usual household wine, whiskey, gin etc.

However it's not all for Xmas and having a dozen or so bottles of spirits is normal

2littleguineas · 25/12/2018 19:11

To those who collect gin any other drink for that matter, why do you collect it? Does it get better with time, do you ever drink it or is it stowed as a collectable item?

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 25/12/2018 19:12

About 40 bottles of white wine. 1 bottle of red, 5 bottles of champagne, a bottle of malibu, a bottle of pineapple Malibu, bottle of whisky, 2 bottles of amaretto, 1 bottle of xambucca, a bottle of archers, 2 bottles of baileys, 1 bottle of m&s mince pie Irish cream, 1 bottle of strawberry tequila. Think that's everything (wow that's a lot!)

BirdieInTheHand · 25/12/2018 19:13

Loads.

About 40+ gins
The wine fridge takes 120 bottles and is full. About the same in red.
A few whiskeys and vodkas.

24 bottles of champagne as we've still got our main celebration to go.

A cabinet full of odds and sods that only ever get drunk/cooked with occasionally.

Enko · 25/12/2018 19:15

I drink the gin but it takes me time as like I said I am not a heavy drinker. I may have 2-3 over a week so when I get a new bottle It takes time to work my way through them. The whiskey has been in the cupboard for years as none of us drink it.

Crunchymum · 25/12/2018 19:18

7 bottles of red, 2 bottles of prosecco, 2 bottles of Baileys and 12 Peroni's.

Also some Grey Goose (flavoured) mini bottles but they have been in the fridge for a few years Shock

Crunchymum · 25/12/2018 19:19

Blimey Birdie. Chin chin Wine
