dcs went to bed no trouble... for the first time this month I'd hasten to add.

my dh is building the baby's Xmas present. I've done my jobs and am settled with a glass of fizz.... but I've just remembered I have a last minute present to wrap 🤦‍♀️

DH is a former Head Chef

That's what I need.
But I am all done in the kitchen for tonight.
Happy Christmas

After two days of baffled searching and racking my brains about where I could have put one Amazon voucher, two book tokens, and the bits and pieces that wouldn't fit in the DGCs' teddies' stockings . . and after spending 20 minutes on the phone - mostly on hold - to Amazon customer service to cancel said voucher, and going to the bookshop for replacement tokens . . . I remembered about two hours ago where all these things were: in a spare Christmas stocking by the tree.

So I've just gone downstairs, removed the extra book tokens and the cancelled voucher (which was for eldest DGS who won't be with us today) and written a note from Santa to the two little DGCs explaining that there are extra stocking presents for their teddies in the big red stocking.

Now, although greatly relieved that the Mystery of the Missing Presents is solved, I'm just slightly concerned that eagle-eyed DGD will notice that Santa's writing on my note is different from the note Santa will have left on his mince pie tray, written by her DF.

Good grief! I've never even had children! How can I be caught up in these ridiculous shenanigans? And how lucky am I to have DGCs in my life?

Husband is working a night shift. Teenagers are playing video games. I’m in bed feeling ill.

I'm making stock and baking bread listening to magic top tunes. In a bit I shall tackle the veggies. I swear I was born nocturnal.

After pain stakingly watching DH build a desk for the last 2 hours I'm in bed with the start of a cold 😣

We had fish pie for tea (tradition in our house due to my Irish Catholic upbringing) then watched father Ted re runs with wine then early to bed.

Yesterday was magical - my amazing DP of 9 months proposed! Down on one knee in the park ❤️
Said yes, obviously! We then went to get the ring resized, followed by lunch and cocktails.
Once we got home, he prepared all of the Christmas lunch, made dessert, set the table (while I faffed about making a fruit crumble). He is absolutely amazing! 😊
Happy Christmas!!

As we're on our own this year, just had cheeseboard and wine and watched Father Ted episodes and documentary. Earlier on, there were carols and hot chocolate on the village green, a good turnout this year.
Just woke up and now thinking about doing vegetables whilst DH takes the dogs out.
Then we'll do pressies with Bucks Fizz and Skype the [adult] D.C. over lunch.
Merry Xmas Xmas Smile
