dcs went to bed no trouble... for the first time this month I'd hasten to add.

my dh is building the baby's Xmas present. I've done my jobs and am settled with a glass of fizz.... but I've just remembered I have a last minute present to wrap 🤦‍♀️

Watching TV with FIL. DH is putting the glaze on the ham which is still to cook tonight. A couple more presents to wrap but can't get them until the dcs are definitely asleep.

Ffsnosexallowed · 24/12/2018 20:56

Dd2 is in need, we're watching scrooged, drinking cava, with dd1 in her normal spot on sofa watching you tube videos.

Flutternotsoshy · 24/12/2018 20:56

Waiting for DD to finally fall asleep so we can stack the huge pile of presents on the sofa.
It's immense (we both have huge families and they've all bought for her)

So watching live at the royal Albert hall on sky 2 until we're sure she's soundo

In bed, not in need...

AnnaMariaDreams · 24/12/2018 20:57

DD is in bed although we’re not convinced he’s asleep. Hoping we can sort stuff out soon and go to bed
Happy Christmas!

brizzledrizzle · 24/12/2018 20:57

I'm on my 2nd glass of wine, DC1 is studying, DC2 is reading and DC3 is on snapchat with friends.

AlessandroVasectomi · 24/12/2018 20:57

We are just us and MIL. We are watching the limited TV that MIL will watch - no soaps, no programmes that have anything to do with doctors or hospitals or medical matters, no noisy shows with people enjoying themselves, nothing with any violence or the hint of potential violence. Fortunately she retires early so once she’s gone up we can watch some proper telly.

Rarotonga · 24/12/2018 20:57

Had a bit of a distasterous one so far... at MIL's request we went to the children's church mass at 5pm which went on for nearly two hours (!) DS (21 months) coped well for about 30 mins but then started getting upset, hungry and tired so eventually I took him out to sit in the car where we watched the Snowman on my phone and waited for dh and MIL. Finally got an overtired, hungry and meltdowny baby home, fed and in Xmas PJs, and then I popped to the toilet. DH and MIL then did the mince pie and carrot on the xmas plate before I came back. It's probably pathetic to be sad about that but It's the first time he's done it and I missed it Hmm It's just taken me ages to get ds to sleep but he finally is. About to have some mulled wine and something light to eat. Already planning on changing things for next Xmas eve...

Luglio · 24/12/2018 20:57

Gin and tonics, Lego movie, woodburner. Perfick.

thisisjustdaft · 24/12/2018 20:58

I am watching a re-run of QI while digesting industrial quantities of sausage rolls, pickles and the like, and am currently contemplating the possibility of a slice of chocolate log and coffee...

TrashPanda · 24/12/2018 20:58

The 9 and 3 year olds are in bed, DP is in the bath and I'm feeding the baby to sleep, hopefully. All presents are wrapped except one last minute stocking item for the 9 year old. We're at SIL's house tomorrow but dropped most stuff off today.

Tortycat · 24/12/2018 21:04

Every year i aim to be all ready on xmas eve, but dc2 still not asleep, loads of presents left to wrap, stuff to tidy, and now dh says he wants me to dress up as sexy santa later. He means well but now it feels like an extra chore on my to do list Smile

Otterses · 24/12/2018 21:08

In laws are all sitting in silence, so I've taken myself off to bed with my one year old as that's more interesting.

But there's no chance of me sleeping. They've got the outside decorations on full beam, and have ignored me asking where the fookin' switch is.

Orangecushions · 24/12/2018 21:09

This made me laugh. DS says he has a plan to gain control of the TV from my DM this year.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 24/12/2018 21:10

Lovely day up until 7.46pm. Food prep, walk in the park, amazing pub lunch, family game of monopoly, Xmas Simpsons. At 7.46pm, git dog stole a mince pie and has had to be rushed to the emergency vet.

LBOCS2 · 24/12/2018 21:12

We've had Christmas Eve dinner, the DC are all dressed in matching pyjamas and working their way through a tin of Quality Street whilst watching Home Alone. I've got a glass of wine and am waiting for them to go to bed so I can finish wrapping 🙄

sharke · 24/12/2018 21:13

I'm getting pissed on gin. PIL are over and we're watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Brilliant. Young (believing) DC are in bed and we're just biding our time to bring the presents down.

berniecats · 24/12/2018 21:13

Both DC are in bed asleep, DH is taking the dogs out for the final walk of the day. I'm wrapping the last of the presents.

GummyGoddess · 24/12/2018 21:14

I'm watching My Virgin Kitchen on YouTube make a giant Bounty bar while eating Hotel Chocolat gemstones.

Presents are wrapped and under the tree, milk has been drunk, DH is working on the mince pie.

Just waiting until bedtime before sealing the door as DH is still using the lounge.

SittHakim · 24/12/2018 21:15

MIL is watching the news Very Loudly with DH nobly keeping her company, DD is reading in bed, I'm hiding in my room for ten minutes with MN. Shortly I will put DD to bed and then wrap the stocking presents. Everything else is pretty well done.

Lilimoon · 24/12/2018 21:16

Me, DD 11 and DH have had a cheese board and watched Home Alone. Just having a quick game of UNO. Happy Christmas all x

IMissGin · 24/12/2018 21:16

I’m watching it’s a wonderful life with a glass of fizz, DP building a toy kitchen

bathtimesanity · 24/12/2018 21:16

DP and I have just done presents to each other as we're both up early tomorrow to go off to our parents separately. Got a gorgeous necklace and earring set and a mirrored jewellery box!

Walked the dog, had a healthy dinner (to makeup for all the Christmas food tomorrow!), broke out the gin and we're now watching Prison Break Xmas Grin

Probably end it with a Christmas shag later. 😂😂

nomorespaghetti · 24/12/2018 21:19

Kids in bed (although we will meet again many more times before sunrise), veg prepped, presents done, wine in hand, Die Hard on the telly. Might go get some stilton!

HundredMileStare · 24/12/2018 21:23

Every year I tell myself I want a nice relaxing Xmas eve where I am not up until 2am and every year I fail.

I put the kids to bed at 8pm, put the living room and kitchen back together, wrote out cards and printed vouchers, set up DDs iphone. I am now huddled on the couch with the dog waiting for a deep slumber from DDs so I can go up the attic and retrieve all unwrapped presents.

Every bloody year!!!

Then I will enjoy a glass of wine with National Lampoons. I reckon if I put my heart and soul into it I can possibly get it done in an hour....🙏🏻
