Ds (12) is in the shower before he goes to bed and I’m drinking Baileys and trying to ignore the fact that I need to make room for 9 people to eat dinner tomorrow in my postage stamp sized living room Grin

Rockbird · 24/12/2018 22:00

All prepped. Waiting for the dds to go to bloody bed! Then Santa will deliver his stash and I can go to bed too. Am shattered.

KiteMarked · 24/12/2018 22:01

We are all still up. My method is to keep them up as late as possible on Christmas Eve and then hope against hope they'll fall asleep quickly and stay asleep later than 6am!!

DS (ASD) is not going to sleep. This is quite usual and nothing to do with excitement about tomorrow as he still doesn't understand Christmas and presents.

DH has disappeared on his evening marathon session to the toilet. It's not even as though he has the new Viz annual to read yet, he won't unwrap that until tomorrow. Why do men take so long?

DBIL is staring at his laptop as usual.

I'm on Mumsnet. There's some stupid car film on the telly (which no doubt DH switched onto before buggering off to the toilet). My glass is empty, I must remedy that.

Cakemonger · 24/12/2018 22:04

Lying with the cat in bed. Exhausted after two days' cooking and present buying with a virus and headache. Hoping I will semi recover for tomorrow.

Mixedupmummy · 24/12/2018 22:05

DH has disappeared on his evening marathon session to the toilet.

@EggysMom that made me laugh. I don't know why they take so long. is there a secret dadsnet?

Thank you so much for your messages. I had a meeting Friday then Christmas dinner with my bosses. Came home slightly merry & fell straight into bed. Was told my behaviour was strange & he's been sulking ever since just because i didn't go in the lounge to say hello when i got home!

cloudtree · 24/12/2018 22:14

I'm waiting for dough to prove and wishing I hadn't started making cinnamon rolls quite so late since for once the DC are asleep at a decent time.

thugmansion · 24/12/2018 22:14

DSs (20s) happily in rooms on xbox. I'm on MN in bed with large glass of wine. Will be at DDs tomorrow with excited GCs who will have been visited by Santa. Turkey and trimmings, back home for more wine Grin

lucysmam · 24/12/2018 22:17

I'm just having a large cup of tea before checking on the girls (as I do around 10:30 every night on my way to bed) then filling their stockings & putting presents under the tree. (If either's awake, they won't think it strange that way Xmas Grin ).

Once presents and stockings are done, I'm off to bed. We had a walk to town and back this morning & then a visit from my dad, as well as some prep for tomorrow so I'm ready for bed.

0ellenbrody0 · 24/12/2018 22:19

Drinking mulled wine, eating chocolate log and watching Gremlins. Veg prepped, pressies all wrapped in bags for each person, still to be laid out.
DD2 watching (buggering about on snapchat) with us eating mince pies. DD1 at work till 11 then we’ll do Xmas eve pressies (new slippers all round this year)

Merry Christmas everyone

Darkestnight · 24/12/2018 22:21

Chilling after a very long four days working in Retail and I'm aching all over

BestIsWest · 24/12/2018 22:27

We are all watching The Last Leg with a tin of Heroes and Quality Street and assorted drinks. I have a lovely G&T. PoorDH has had a rotten cold cough and sore throat and has pretty much been out of action all week. I have a nasty suspicion I will get it in the next few days. DCs are grown up but have still put their stockings out and I will fill them before bed (they will probably still be up).

princessspotify · 24/12/2018 22:33

currently sat drinking tea. we were London visiting family and got back later than planned. just finished watching DVD with kids to try and mellow them out. hopefully they fall asleep soon then can put all presents out and then bed.

babysharkah · 24/12/2018 22:34

Mad panic to find the lost presents, now found. Having a g&t and bed as I'm going to get woken up EARLY.

Mitsouko67 · 24/12/2018 22:35

Relaxing on the couch after a lot of food preparation. Kids in bed cosy. Teenager 18 announced today she is spending Christmas with friends. Wish she was with us but it's up to her. Having a cuppa now with DH will leave out presents and then to bed.

PerverseConverse · 24/12/2018 22:36

Dd2 is still awake!! Ffs kid go to sleep! Dd1 and ds are asleep and nanny will be soon too. Just me waiting to bring my presents for them all down then FC will do stockings when he gets here. Last I heard he was in Poland.

Santasushi · 24/12/2018 22:37

Ds’s being grumpy, dd at work. Dh watching tv.
I did Santa’s tray by myself.

MrsTumbletap · 24/12/2018 22:40

Watching gogglebox in bed, DS went up to bed very well and excited to fall asleep and DH snoozing next to me.

Presents and stockings sorted, thought I was all prepared and just found the Christmas card to DH that DS was supposed to write in, and it's blank. Shit. I now have to sneakily get DS to write in on in the morning somehow whilst he is excitedly opening his stocking. We usually do cards first, so this is going to be tricky.

PhaedrasChocolate · 24/12/2018 22:40

Me and DP are both working 12 hour shifts tomorrow, so we're watching Gremlins and eating beige food.

Boxing Day is our Christmas Day... Can't wait!

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 24/12/2018 22:42

Watching Gone Girl with DMum whilst DDad snoozes on the sofa, think DB is at the pub (only is 4 for Christmas!) after a really lovely day just hanging out!

Unfortunately, after wanting to watch it for years, turns out Gone Girl is shit...

Andromeida59 · 24/12/2018 22:42

We're both ill. We've wrapped all the presents and now off for an early night. We both smell of Vicks and I'm wearing about three layers. We've just opened our presents and will listen to Victorian ghost stories as we fall asleep.

I feel very content and loved.

FinallyFree123456789 · 24/12/2018 22:43

Me and dd have come to my parents for our annual sleepover ... matching Christmas pjs on and she's asleep upstairs while we're drinking watching a film :-)

Nibledbyducks · 24/12/2018 22:44

Watching Outlander with friend and DD, then off to midnight mass :) we had our dinner for Yule so just party food and pressies tomorrow, having a thoroughly lovely Christmas.

dontneedthedrama · 24/12/2018 22:45

Watching tv with eldest dd . Ds in bed , dh gone to pub . This is the first year I've not put all presents before bed as dd won't go to bed before me ( she's 20) so I'll do it in morning, they all ready even stockings, dd insists at her age Smile
