dcs went to bed no trouble... for the first time this month I'd hasten to add.

my dh is building the baby's Xmas present. I've done my jobs and am settled with a glass of fizz.... but I've just remembered I have a last minute present to wrap 🤦‍♀️

Watching Gremlins and contemplating a plate of food. All the wrapping has tired me out. Am hoping dd will go to sleep soon so Santa can drop off the presents Dh is constructing Ds's doll house which is a lot bigger than I anticipated (but the best ebay bargain ever!) We can't wait to see his face! It's also our doggies first christmas with us so I'm excited for them!

I've just wrapped forty bloody one presents, 41!! Remind me NEVER to leave the wrapping until Christmas Eve again!

DH in bed as started work at 3am this morning, fortunately the DC's went to bed beautifully and I am not long off going myself.

Most of my work is done now, DH is a former Head Chef and will cook beautiful things tomorrow!

Teen is in the pub. 20 somethings are in their rooms. I'm nicely pickled in alcohol watching QI on the iplayer trying not to worry about the lonely single woman DH has been messaging for the last 3 years on the other side of the world where it's already Christmas Day. He seems unbothered. Obviously I'm divorcing him in the New Year. But I'm wondering if she's ok just now and thinking there's something very off with me for doing so.

Just washed the dog, smells lovely now. Dp in kitchen wrapping my presents, plenty of for fucksakes and fucking stupid bows coments coming from him. Well he would leave it to last min

If it helps, my mum was in that position 12y ago. Today she is slim, healthy, runs her own business and lives in a lovely house, and sees her super romantic French partner when it suits. You may end up in a great place too.

Went to pizza express for dinner then back home to watch Elf, drink mulled wine and eat mince pies! Our ds’s are in bed, sleeping, so will lay out their presents soon. I’m playing Santa AND the tooth fairy tonight as our youngest ds lost his wobbly tooth today

Still only 6pm here, but our Christmas Eve is not very festive DD1 lying on the sofa sick, DH up in bed sick - hoping DD2 and I don't catch it - did none of the nice family things we had planned for today - oh well.

Hopefully it is a 24 hr bug and they will be better in the morning or we might have to move Christmas to Boxing day (which would work except DD2 is 6 and knows Santa is coming tonight!!)

Teens are in their Christmas pjs, DH is just back from an impromptu 6 round trip drive to see someone where visiting on Boxing Day and where trying to relax.

I am rather jolly, DH doesn’t drink so he is eating all the food.

I put together an old fashioned wooden school desk tonight, it looks nice. We will see if it’s useable though..

Also thankful for some gift bags [novelty bin liners] I got from Halfords as it made wrapping said desk and a bike a breeze!

Watching Carols from Kings that I recorded eariler, curled up with ddog and a glass of wind. DH has just left to go to midnight mass. DC finally asleep so I’ll haul the present stash from its hiding place shortly and pop it under the tree

I'm lonely and wish I had someone to talk to. Or that I was loved.

Duck and orange sauce for supper then wellies on to go and give the horses Christmas kisses in the moonlight, followed round by a suicidally brave cat who weaved through their legs, getting very muddy in the process. No one seemed to mime though. Now in bed waiting for the midnight fireworks which will send the dogs bonkers for 5 minutes. Then peace and snoring from everyone until the shooting starts bang on 7am.....

Laid on the bed shattered. Can’t be arsed to get up..and get ready and actually get into it..plus it’s freezing in hall and bathroom.

Gremlins is on , oh and we watched girl on a train on Netflix..my Christmas present to myself

Kids are in bed, had a bit too much pink gin 🤷‍♀️ better resume my Christmas Eve duties.

Eating a crisp sandwich, as I've had a migraine since this morning and can finally manage something to eat without being sick.

DC (9 & 12) are not fully asleep yet, but their gifts are wrapped, just need to set them out.

Dh is watching Die Hard, and hes just made me a cuppa

I've had my glass of Baileys, or "slug slime" as it is known chez Slug. Did (17) decided she would partake of some Prosecco and swiftly went to bed. She's never shown any interest in alcohol so I think the two half glasses did her in. DH is lingering over a whiskey and will join me in bed soon.

DCs are asleep, presents and stockings all sorted, I'm now in bed but can't sleep because DH had waaay too much to drink at my ILs' house today and is snoring even louder than usual and sleep talking

We are having a drink and listening to music on my new Google Home device DH bought me for Christmas (we open ours on Xmas eve so DS gets full attention in the morning - plus he'd assume our presents are for him also! Plus plus takes away half the mess of wrapping paper). DS finally gave in and went to bed (after three stories!) at half 9 after a busy day with the ILs seeing santa and having Xmas eve lunch.

I've been arranging the presents under the tree as both parents have gone overboard with huge presents this year for DS that are now sat near the tree instead of under it and given the dog an early present because he woke up and started chasing his tail like a mad man, now sat happily at my feet.

All presents sorted so watching Springsteen on Broadway while eating Heroes. Not going to make it to the end though - heading to bed soon and watch the rest tomorrow. Hoping DD will sleep through and go past 6.30.

Still up, waiting for the Christmas ham to cool so I can put it in the fridge and go to ffecin bed. 3 gins down and exhausted. Fuckin ham...

Finally made it to bed after playing Santa( always terrifies me!) while dh snoring on sofa then remembered Santa hadn't eaten anything so had to get up. Must remember my bedside cabinet has chopped carrot and unwrapped choccies in it!
Back in bed and I remembered the elves which retired last year had appeared again this morning for a flying visit were still sat on ds drums. Sure dh thought it was a good idea but moving them in dark was a little tricky!
Bed now at last 💤

Ate casserole that I cooked yesterday watched a film together and DS peeled all the veg for tomorrow. Had a beer. I am still awake as I had a nice hour long snooze after dinner.
