Check your Tesco orders! Out of stock items

Having my Tesco shop delivered tomorrow. Just went on to add a few more things and 5 things I had on there are now out of stock! Had to choose a teeny gammon instead of the beast I originally ordered. Plus a few other things like pate. Worth checking now so you can make changes instead of getting a surprise tomorrow and having to pop out in to the chaos. Fingers crossed nothing else goes out of stock because I really can't be arsed to go in store Grin

Second that! I checked on Thursday night for my order on Friday and there was about 4 things out of stock but I was able to get replacements

goldengummybear · 22/12/2018 16:54

Mines tomorrow too. I will see what replacements they offer and then see.

LtGreggs · 22/12/2018 16:55

Just had mine delivered - £160 with no subs ☺

Hitthelights · 22/12/2018 17:00

Are you sure that's not for new orders as opposed to your own? Yours may have been included as part of their existing stock. Some of the things I've bought from Morrisons show as out of stock for new orders but all arrived for me.

Scootergrrrl · 22/12/2018 17:07

My crackers (Christmas not crunchy) are out of stock. I don't want to go cracker-hunting on Christmas Eve (stamps feet).

minisoksmakehardwork · 22/12/2018 17:07

From Tesco I had items which said out of stock. But when the order came, those items were there.
I can only assume that their stock checker was at zero, so they let me know in order to give me the option to choose and alternative, but a delivery was received prior to my order being picked which meant I could receive them.

driggle · 22/12/2018 17:08

@Hitthelights no with Tesco when I click to amend my order, it shows some items as now being out of stock and the total amount has gone down. When I go to checkout it then tells me to choose alternatives for these items.

Morrisons comes from a warehouse so like Ocado they can reserve the items for you but with Tesco it's from a store so if they sell out in store then it's gone.

@minisoksmakehardwork on mine it has automatically taken the out of stock items off the order. When I checkout it asks me to choose alternatives. There's no way of keeping the original items on there just in case they're in stock by tomorrow.

@driggle, mine weren't in the basket either but they did still come. It was bacon and I ended up not putting anything else in to replace it. But we still got it.

Mammaof · 22/12/2018 18:06

Yeah mine did the same but the out of stock items still came

SymphonyofShadows · 22/12/2018 18:07

Mine was delivered today without the big gammon joint I was hoping for, gits. Loads of subs too. Luckily DP was in Morrisons with his DF so he managed to get one.

TheLastQueenOfPop · 22/12/2018 18:09

There's loads going to be missing off my order tomorrow, given the amount of stuff showing as unavailable when I try to amend. Tesco online ordering used to be spot on but it's getting increasingly shit unfortunately.

teacuptale · 22/12/2018 18:10

Funny you should say about gammon. I went to Tesco on Thursday and they only had small-ish gammons.

Neverunderfed · 22/12/2018 18:12

I'm getting some sort of fruity non alcoholic wine instead of mulled wine from Asda this evening apparently 😂

Saladd0dger · 22/12/2018 18:18

We get fresh delivery’s between midnight and 5am every day so things maybe in stock by the morning when your shopping is picked Smile
Merry Christmas all xx

Almostfifty · 22/12/2018 18:53

I ordered mine to come yesterday. It's all put away, all in date, and will all be as fresh as a fresh thing come Christmas Day. Xmas Grin

Fairylightfurore · 22/12/2018 18:55

I'd keep the big gammon on there if they're out of stock they'll have to replace it with two smaller gammons for the same price Xmas Grin

StoorieHoose · 22/12/2018 18:59

The ones I had marked as no longer available I left in the basket and they didn’t arrive - luckily the additional items I added to replace them did (and then one of them was substituted when it was delivered)

Tesco online had got increasingly shit - I always now have at least 2 items a week where the quantity can’t be increased and I still miss the editable lists that they used to have

FestiveForestieraNoel · 22/12/2018 19:07

Yes, I was really disappointed with Tesco this year. All the sweet Christmas items were out of stock - stollen, Christmas pudding, chocolate log. I'd even subbed the pudding earlier in the week as I'd noticed it was out of stock but even the replacement didn't arrive. Also got the smaller gammon rather than the larger one I'd ordered. My order was delivered yesterday.

Next year I'll get all the Christmas stuff separately.

blackteaplease · 22/12/2018 19:10

I have learned from butter experience that if you log in before your delivery, the out of stock items are removed from your basket. If you can resist amending your order for about a week before then they sub the items.

EdCowling · 22/12/2018 19:15

I use Sainsburys and my main moan is the short life of so many items. No one eats everything in the two days after it's delivered. Plus I've had milk that's only good for fours days. I've stopped buying some items because they always had a short life.

MsSquiz · 22/12/2018 19:17

Mine was delivered today, no subs at all. It has been booked for weeks. When I went it to double check what I had ordered mid week it showed as an item being out stock. I didn't change it and it must've been restocked when they picked my order as everything was there on delivery

spinn · 22/12/2018 19:19

My delivery was yesterday, I ordered a standard gammon and it was substituted for a massive premium one but price matched down to the original price.
Not all subs are bad and if you are a risk taker could be a good one to go for!

FestiveForestieraNoel · 22/12/2018 19:25

blackteaplease thanks for the tip!

HermioneWeasley · 22/12/2018 19:27
