No tomato sauce involved preferably. I love the nigella marmite spaghetti.

fry up pancetta, mushrooms & garlic, simmer in cream then pour over fresh linguine. Also works with pesto instead of cream & can add onions/eggs if desired

Heuschrecke · 20/12/2018 18:00

I love Marmite - but on pasta? No!

anonymousss · 20/12/2018 18:01

spaghetti with pesto and cream cheese

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/12/2018 18:01

Pasta pesto peas

canigetaliein · 20/12/2018 18:02

garlic, olive oil & parmesan for super quick & tasty food.

JuniperBeer · 20/12/2018 18:02

Fry chopped chorizo or pancetta till it’s crispy, add cherry tomatoes, add pesto with a dollop of Philadelphia, stir until hot. Add cooked pasta.
Grated Parmesan on top. Definitely not the fanciest. But definitely tasty.

Finfintytint · 20/12/2018 18:02

I like pasta with garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and then add any of the following- prawns, mushrooms, asparagus, cream cheese, creme fraiche, etc

JuniperBeer · 20/12/2018 18:03

Oooh or pasta, pesto, peas, pancetta and Parmesan. All the p’s!

SergeantPfeffer · 20/12/2018 18:04

Mix olive oil, freshly grated Parmesan and lemon juice in a bowl. You want it to form a thick sauce like texture, you need plenty of cheese and oil. Cook pasta, drain and immediately add the lemon/cheese/oil with plenty of torn up basil and some black pepper. Mix.

Best Nigel slater recipe ever!

NeverHadANickname · 20/12/2018 18:04

Pasta with pesto. Cook pasta, drain, stir in some pesto with some pasta cooking water.

Spaghetti carbonara. I boil the pasta, fry bacon and mushrooms, add garlic then cream mixed with an egg yolk per person and grated parmesan. Toss pasta with sauce and some cooking water until it gets to how you want it.

Both take as long as the pasta takes to cook plus the combining at the end.

SlowNorris · 20/12/2018 18:04

Marmite?

Reported for suspected trolling Xmas Grin

Waggily · 20/12/2018 18:05

Fry some bacon and garlic whilst cooking spaghetti and broccoli in another pan. Drain pasta and broccoli. Mix it all together with lots of Parmesan and some pasta water to make a sauce. You can also do this with sprouts instead of broccoli or chorizo instead of bacon.

Sparrowlegs248 · 20/12/2018 18:05

This is exactly what I was hoping for!!

@Heuschrecke don't knock it til you've tried it! I wasn't convinced either but it's really nice.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 20/12/2018 18:06

Crème fraîche and grated cheese. Maybe some cherry tomatoes.

I also like pasta and curry sauce Xmas Blush only one specific curry sauce though! I started eating it at uni because it's quicker to cook pasta than rice.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 20/12/2018 18:07

Chorizo, tin of white crab meat, chopped parsley, squeeze of lemon. Stir through spaghetti. V nice.

Raera · 20/12/2018 18:08

Smoked salmon carbonara (BBC Good Food website)
Not for expectant mums because of semi cooked eggs, but for everyone else - delicious

VittysCardigan · 20/12/2018 18:08

Spaghetti, extra virgin olive oil, pecarino, plenty of black pepper

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 20/12/2018 18:12

If you like broccoli...

I cook broccoli florets in with the pasta. By the time they're cooked they're soft enough to mash/disintegrate through the pasta. Add cheese/pesto/olive oil/peas/crispy bacon. Yum!

Marmarmarmite · 20/12/2018 18:12

Carbonara - Cook pasta, whisk up an egg (or two if 4 or more people). Drain pasta, mix in egg and stir slowly til cooked to a thick sauce that coats the pasta. Add parmesan. Eat.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 20/12/2018 18:14

Chopped or lightly blended anchovies/olives/sundried (or sunblush or baby) tomatoes/ garlic/olive oil/parmesan stirred through

Raggedyaine · 20/12/2018 18:16

Marmite and butter on spaghetti is food of the gods I swear.

More mainstream is pesto with a splash of cream and crispy fried bacon bits.

Jackshouse · 20/12/2018 18:16

Raera semi cooked eggs are fine for pregnant women as long as they are lion stamped.

Fry mushroom and garlic and mix with pasta, cream cheese and a bit of black pepper.
