No tomato sauce involved preferably. I love the nigella marmite spaghetti.

OP posts:
grumpymummy72 · 21/12/2018 00:35

Pasta, tinned tuna, pesto (preferably red) and capers.

ZenNudist · 21/12/2018 00:41

I cook spaghetti and broccoli florets together, gave been known to fry slices of kabanos sausage or mushrooms or toast pine nuts in a dry frying pan, toss any of these ingredients together with sundried cherry tomatoes chopped with scissors and loosen the dish with oil from the tomatoes and splash of salt water from cooking the spaghetti. Grate parmesan and grind black pepper. Yum

Frogletmamma · 21/12/2018 00:45

bradley just read yours. Could eat it now!

KeepServingTheFestiveSnogs · 21/12/2018 00:52

OMG, so much cooking...

Open jar of pesto. Dollop on. Serve.

OR, my mum's standby:

Cook spaghetti. Drain. Put on plates. Put butter, tomato ketchup and parmesan on top. Stir. Serve.

What is this 'florette' nonsense?

daphine2004 · 21/12/2018 00:59

Just staying here for the recipes!

tumpymummy · 21/12/2018 01:10

We eat a lot of pasta in our house so I need to placemark and try some of these. Some I have never thought of. Marmite I'm thinking of trying, but baked beans?!!

MulledWineMayhem · 21/12/2018 02:10

I am now starving!

I make pasta with literally whatever I have in the fridge/cupboard

Last night fried chorizo and garlic

Others

  • creme fraiche and Roquefort (stir in to cooked pasta with a bit of the pasta water)
  • peas and garlic
  • tipped a pot of olives and antipasti stuff into cooked pasta and added cheese
BonnyPrinceBilly · 21/12/2018 02:25

Marmite spaghetti is lush.

Other no-cook sauces involve cooking pasta, just before you drain add a load of fresh spinach so it wilts in the water.

Back in the hot pan (important that it's hot) stir and add:

  • dollop of creme fraiche, loads of pepper
  • as above but with grated cheese
  • as above but with dolcelatte/st agur
  • dollop of Philadelphia (can also crumble in a bit of blue cheese as above)

For days when you want to make a bit more effort cooking wise, put a whole butternut squash on a tray in the oven with oil 45 minutes before, then once it's roasted cut it up, add it to the pasta and spinach with creme fraiche, and maybe a bit of blue cheese if you have it.

Saw the thread title and came on to say Nigella’s marmite spaghetti. For some reason I always forget about it for months on end, then when I remember I’ll eat it repeatedly for days on end. You’ve reminded me again!

LonelyandTiredandLow · 21/12/2018 03:07

Garlic puree, splash of cream and cheese into pasta, mix briefly until cheese melts into cream and sprinkle with fresh basil.

Whatsnewwithyou · 21/12/2018 03:11

Jamie Oliver green spaghetti recipe: boil some kale and garlic cloves with your pasta, fish them out and blend with some ricotta, add salt, and stir through the drained pasta. Top with parmesan.

HistoriaTrixie · 21/12/2018 03:14

Here is my favourite. I could eat this stuff every day!

Cherries101 · 21/12/2018 03:32

Garlic powder, mustard powder, salt, pepper and a bit of mixed herbs whisked into eggs and cream until well combined and then poured over hot spaghetti. Takes about as long as the spaghetti takes to cook. You could make it vegan by using avocado instead of eggs and cream.

LonelyandTiredandLow · 21/12/2018 03:53

Dammit, now I'm craving pasta before 4am. Would it be wrong to have marmite pasta for breakfast instead of having it on toast? I've not tried it but am tempted to nip down to the kitchen... Grin

MrWolfknowsthetime · 21/12/2018 04:39

I do carbonara when I need a quick carb hit. Water on to boil the spaghetti; cut up some bacon (with scissors is quickest). Then spaghetti in; fry bacon. Grate whatever cheese is in the fridge while this is happening. Take bacon off heat when just going crispy; drain pasta when cooked. Lob pasta, cheese and an egg into the bacon pan; add lots of black pepper; stir. Takes 15 min from start to finish. No cream, cream does not belong in a carbonara.

ivykaty44 · 21/12/2018 05:14

Brussel sprouts and blue cheese, onions and cream fraich to make a sauce

Oceanbliss · 21/12/2018 05:44

I'm loving these recipes! Thx mumsnetters. I've copy and pasted many of them.

Yesterday I googled pasta recipes coz I was sick of cooking same old spaghetti bolognaise. I bought the ingredients for following link. I plan on cooking it this afternoon, so not sure yet how nice it is. I'm in Australia so it's summer here and blazing hot atm.

brizzledrizzle · 21/12/2018 05:58

Marmite spaghetti? I might just have to have that for breakfast.

Destinysdaughter · 21/12/2018 06:18

This is delicious! Get some Fresh thyme, grated lemon zest, chopped garlic and chopped chillies, put on baking tray, add olive oil, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms, red peppers and a good dollop of ricotta cheese. ( you can also add a splash of white wine ). Cook in oven for 40 mins. Take out of oven and add lemon juice. Add cooked spaghetti, with a bit of the cooking water to baking tray and swirl it around so it soaks up all the juices. Scoff! 😀

UrsulaPandress · 21/12/2018 06:25

Shameless placemarking.

Toomanybaubles · 21/12/2018 06:27

Marmite 🤮

beardeddragon174 · 21/12/2018 06:35

Not SUPER quick but it is so tasty:

1 pack passata/chopped tomatoes
2 sundried tomatoes
2 roasted peppers
2 tbsp garlic powder
Glug balsamic

Put in blender. Mix with cooked drained spaghetti til heated through. Drizzle with basil oil. Mmm.

Nacreous · 21/12/2018 07:08

Pasta, smoked (or just normal cooked) salmon, creme fraiche, lemon juice, white wine, parmesan, basil, and a bit of cornflour.

Mix creme fraiche, white wine, lemon some basil,.parmesan, cornflour. Stir through cooked pasta and warm through til the cornflour is cooked. Add strips of smoked salmon, warm through or don't according to preference. Sprinkle with more parmesan and basil.
