No tomato sauce involved preferably. I love the nigella marmite spaghetti.

Cooked spaghetti, strips of smoked salmon, chopped dill, cooked peas, mayonnaise. Super delicious!

SushiMonster · 21/12/2018 08:03

Carbonara (the real way, not with any gross cream)

Pesto and frozen peas and bread beans cooking in the pasta cooking water

Fresh filled pasta with a drizzle of olive oil and gratenof Parmesan and front of black pepper

If I’m roasting a butternut squash and don’t need it all, I cube the bit I don’t need and roast with thyme and onion. Freeze. Then when making pasta, take the bag of frozen roast butternut squash out of the freezer and blast in the microwave. Top into a blender and whizz up with some of the starchy cooking water. De-fucking-licious. Serve with plenty of pine nuts.

If you ignor the initial butternut squash roasting then it takes no time or effort at all.

Garlic, walnuts and cream whizzed together in linguine, really tasty. Could add Parmesan too.

Stir some creme fresh & lemon juice into cooked pasta. Add smoked salmon & dill.

Slightly longer. Whilst cooking the pasta, cook some red onion, chestnut mushrooms & courgette. Mix creme fresh & pesto together. Throw it all together.

Slightly longer again. Whilst pasta is cooking, fry some onion & chestnut mushrooms on a low heat. Make up a cheese sauce (milk, cheddar, flour). Mix pasta, veg & tin of tuna together, pour over sauce. Put in oven for a few minutes with some extra cheese on top for a pasta bake.

Fried onion and mushrooms in 2 tsp oil, add white wine, cook for 5 mins, some cream at the end.

formerbabe · 21/12/2018 10:00

You can get little tubs of Sun dried tomatoes and mini mozzarella balls in the deli of most supermarkets.

Tip the tub into cooked pasta with some shredded Parma ham, a handful of rocket and some toasted pine nuts.

You can eat hot, warm or cold.

@KeepServingTheFestiveSnogs some of these recipes sound lovely but more cooking than I wanted. I like the sound of adding gorgonzola and walnuts. Very quick!

I make it with the thin chipolata sausages and my 5 year old wolfs it down!

If you're thinking a bit more 'adult' then this is lovely:

2 egg yolks, 2 tablespoons of creme fraiche and 4 tablespoons of grated Parmesan, ground pepper. Whisk together. Boil some tagliatelle with a clove of garlic (skin on) in the pan as well.
Drain pasta, use a garlic press to add to the sauce. Put the drained pasta back in the pan and stir through the sauce until well coated. Serve with more Parmesan and black pepper. You can also add cooked shredded chicken if you have it.

waltzingparrot · 21/12/2018 15:12

Quick one that young kids seem to like..... Boil pasta, chuck in handful of peas for last few minutes. Meanwhile warm cream in pan with grated cheddar and chopped up wafer thin ham or 'naice' ham if you must. Combine. Happy kids!

arsearsearse · 21/12/2018 19:27

Mash avocado with a tiny bit of garlic and some lemon juice. Mix well with a mug of pasta water then add to your drained spaghetti.

KindergartenKop · 21/12/2018 20:53

Creme fraiche, smoked salmon and broccoli.

Fry onion, courgette, bacon and anything else you fancy. Add big dollop of creme fraiche and grated cheese. Cook on low heat until cheese has melted and you have a lovely cheesy creme fraiche-y sauce. Mix in cooked pasta. Heaven in a bowl.

Almostthere15 · 21/12/2018 21:54

Soften some sliced garlic in very low heat olive oil m, start as soon as you put the pasta water on to boil. Never let it brown. Add thyme (fresh) after about 5 minutes. Combine the olive with cooked pasta and crumble on some goats cheese. Add some of the cooking water if it's needed to make a sauce. This was a Nigel Slater dish

I like romanesco brocolli, cut into florets roasted with oil and garlic for about 15 minutes, add cherry tomatoes for another 5 minutes, combine with cooked pasta, add loads of parmesan. Delicious!
