To ask what size you are if you are 5'4 and 8 stone

My and my sister were talking about weights and sizes today. I'm a size 10 and 5'4 and just 8 stone. My sister is also around the 8 stone mark and a 6-8. Is being a size 10 at this weight unusual?

Id say you're tiny and struggle to buy clothes. I'm 5'7 and 10st and wear 8/10 in many shops these days (although 12-14 30 years ago!)

I was a 6-8 at that weight and same height. I’m just getting to a size 10 now at 9.5 stone.

I'm 5' 3 (and 3/4) and weigh between 8 1/2 and 9 stone depending on how much I'm out socialising! I wear an 8 or a 10 depending on the brand.

Usually size 8.

Weight and clothes sizes don't have that much to do with one another; someone the same height and clothes size who's got a high muscle:fat ratio will weigh a lot more than someone who's doesn't have much muscle mass, for example...

I’m 5’3 and 8 and a half stone and wear a 8/10 usually an 8 though.

I would say that's unusual OP.
I am a size ten bottom 12 top so not much larger than you and I am 10.5 stone (5'3 though but still, 8 stone I would say usually more a 6-8).

Are you shopping in different shops or prefer very tight or loose clothes or such?

I'm 5'5. At 8 stone I was an 8, possibly a 6 in some places. 10s would have been pretty baggy.

That was about 15 years ago too. Now I'm nearer 10.5 stone and can still get in to a 10 in some places as what is a 10 now is generally much bigger than what was a 10 years ago.

So yes, I think being a 10 at your weight is quite unusual but I wonder if your sister prefers the tighter more fitted look where as you prefer looser more casual styles??

I’m 5”5 and 11 stone at the moment (biggest I’ve ever been) and I’m a size 10/12.

At 9 stone 7 I’m an 8.

5'4 and 8.5 stone and I'm a size 8.

I might add, my mother is only a couple of pounds heavier than me and she is a 14. We both like looser fitting clothes and won’t wear anything figure hugging.

I'm 5'4 and my weight fluctuates. I was a 6/8 when I weighed that much. I'm 11 stone now and a size 10/12.

I would most comfortably fit a size 4 or 6 on top, and a 6 or 8 on bottom, depending on the shop. I guess it can vary quite a lot depending on body type? So no, I wouldn't say that being a size 10 is unusual if that's what fits your body best - we're all so different!

I'm 5ft 3 and 9.5 stone and I'm a 12 bottom, 10 top. If I was 8 stone I'd be a size at at the most.

at that weight 30 years ago I was a size 8 hips and size 14 shoulders.... build matters

I think you might be buying your clothes in a bigger size than you actually think you need OP?

When I was 8stone I was a size 8.

This is me! I'm a size 6 on top and 8 in trousers.

My mum is 5"3 and at 9.5 st is a size 14/16!!!! We have never worked out how!!!
