To ask what size you are if you are 5'4 and 8 stone

My and my sister were talking about weights and sizes today. I'm a size 10 and 5'4 and just 8 stone. My sister is also around the 8 stone mark and a 6-8. Is being a size 10 at this weight unusual?

Do you like your clothes fitting loosely? That would explain it. I am 5 foot four, and I’ve been eight stone and generally wore 6/8 to be fitted, but 10 if I wanted something loose.

I'm 5 foot 2 and weigh 7 stone 12 and I'm a size 8/10 but always a 10 in trousers or jeans. Before I had DS(6) I weighed more but was a size 6-8 so I know my body shape is completely different than it was before DS.

You sound like you should be very small.

I am this height/weight (well except right now at 37 weeks pregnant!) and normally a size 8. Some size 8s can be fairly roomy and actually I am now only just over 9 stone from pregnancy and still wearing non-maternity size 8 on top half.

It depends on your shape completely.

I'm exactly the same stats as you, OP, at 5'4" and a little under 8 stone. I'd usually be a size 8 but I had my second 10 and a half pound baby this year and although my weight has stabilised my jelly belly hasn't forgiven me for creating massive children and my breastfeeding boobs take up more room. I often choose to wear size 10 because it's a texture issue: I can't bear the muffin top or the look of a waistband digging into my poor soft tummy.

Maybe my aim for 2019 should be to repair my tummy muscles and get into smaller clothes Grin

It depends on the shop. I’m roughly that height/weight and my clothes vary from 8 to 12, depending on where I buy them.

I'm 5'4 and 8st. I'm a 6-8 depending on the shop, I will very often buy aged 14 jeans and tights because they fit me better (and they're cheaper) as I have very skinny legs.

I’m 5ft 4, 8 stone 1lb and a size 8-10 depends on the shop, can sometimes get away with a size 6.

Interesting; I think that is surprising, yes. I'm 5'4 and usually weigh around 8st 4lbs, and I'm a size 8 mostly, 6 occasionally. I do like close-fitting clothes though!

Same height and 7st 12 and a 6-8 depending on brand. I have quite broad shoulders for the rest of me, if that makes sense. If I drop to 7st 10 I’m a definite 6.

I'm 5'4 and weigh 8.7 or so, and I'm a size 12, so I would guess I would be a 10 at 8 stone. I'm not at all toned though!

I’m 5’7” and 8st3lbs. Usually size 6 bottoms and size 10 top (have ludicrous boobs because im breastfeeding)

I'm 5ft 4 and just over 10 stone and I'm a size 10. I'm a powerlifter though so very muscly.

I'm 5'3 (and a half) and I weight 9.5 stone, I am a size 10. I think at 8 stone I would be an 8, pushing a 6.

I am 5’4 and a half inches. I have no idea how much I weigh but my clothes sizes on the bottom are 6-8 and tops 8-10. I am very rectangular in shape though.

5ft 5.5.. 9st size 8.. can wear a 6 in some shops

I'm 22, 5ft dot on and am usually a size 10, sometimes a 12. I struggle massively being so short.

I was 6 on top & 8-10 on the bottom at that height & weight.

I’m 5’4 and wear a size 10 (an 8 in the more generous stores.)
I’m 9 stone and reasonably toned but not muscular.

At 8 stone I’d be a definite size 8 I think.

This is me, and it was when I was a teenager some 30 years ago.

I used to be a 10, and now size 10s swamp me. It does depend where you shop and what sort of clothes you like. I like Toast and Cos although they come up huge. Gap, Top Shop, New Look etc less so.

I am 5’4” and pre pregnancy was just over 8 stone, I wore size 6-8. Currently in size 8 maternity

All depends on body shape, breast size, natural build and how muscular you are. A toned woman will weigh more than someone who never exercises and solely uses diet to stay slim (potentially much more). Dress sizes have nothing to do with weight, fitness or health...

I am 8 stone and 5'3".
I am a size 10. Bra size 34D.
When I am fitter, eating more healthily, I weigh around 8.5 stone and am a size 8. Bra size 34B. I tone up but weigh more. I feel stronger and more streamlined. I'm a little flabby now.
