I had a long lie - didn’t wake up till 8.30am.

Then I watched a film - Dumpling - in bed, got breakfast in bed with my new fave thing, cappuccino, and am now bingeing on a box set.

I’ve not even got showered and dressed yet

All this, and my dog is curled at my feet.

This is rare and fab.

I forgot to eat breakfast, and we've busted a gut to tidy and clean the house. Not the best Saturday in recent memory!

BUT. We've got friends coming, lots of cake, and my daughter is off her crutches, so it's looking up!

Tinty · 15/12/2018 13:19

I am at work, it is boring and wet.

But I have tomorrow off. Smile

Glass half full. Xmas Grin

Your day sounds lovely though.

CormoranStrike · 15/12/2018 13:19

That’s a definite improving trajectory for you avocado.

Got up at 9.

Made coffee and had a cheese toastie [been off gluten for 6 weeks to work out if this pain is gluten related] and am not too crippled up yet so that's good news.

Been to the garden to inspect 3 new fenceposts that we got mended in the week.

Now am harvesting all the chillis and will wash them all, cut the inedible ends off, and freeze them. We have loads so am happy about that.

Then will watch the final in the 1983 series, and make pizza later with GF pizza base and fresh jalapeno. With a potato salad.

catenthusiast · 15/12/2018 13:23

It was my work Xmas do last night and DH's so we're both a little delicate Blush spending the day lounging around, drinking coffee and eating all the things Brew

It's a nice Saturday though, happy to not feel like we're rushing around to do everything. Housework (especially hoovering - ouch) can wait for another day!

SagelyNodding · 15/12/2018 13:24

It's ds2's birthday, I have a trapped nerve in my back and I yelp every time I move... Between 6-10 kids are due to arrive in 7 minutes time and I feel like telling them to go away! (Obviously I will suck it up and they will have a lovely time)
All in all NOT the best Saturday ever...

makeitalargegin · 15/12/2018 13:26

I've just washed the dog Grinhe was rather smelly. This is the first Saturday in god knows how long that I haven't got any plans, and I'm thrilled. Going to do some tidying and spend my evening watching Netflix and wrapping presents.

BexleyRae · 15/12/2018 13:26

I'm at work. It's so quiet I've no need to be here really so it's dragging and I'm killing time on mumsnet. Roll on 4pm

AppleJuiceFlood · 15/12/2018 13:27

Cormoran Dumplin’ is a fab movie. Especially with a dog curled at your feet.

Mine has been meh.

Still trying to get over a chest infection, sky man here fannying around installing sky Q and I can’t reheat last nights takeaway and snaffle it until he’s gone!

HappyGoLuckyGo · 15/12/2018 13:27

I’m in a grump because DH rocked up at 7am from a nightclub after his Christmas do, and I’ve been left literally holding the baby. Bit frustrating. We’re meant to be leaving before 1230 for a lunch reservation, but I assume that won’t be happening... Disappointing, but never mind.

Mind you, said baby will be going for a nap soon, so I’ll then do some work for my language classes and try to decide once and for all what to get my parents for Christmas!

HappyGoLuckyGo · 15/12/2018 13:28

Oh, I’m several hours behind the U.K.! So there’s still a chance for lunch 😂

toomanygreys · 15/12/2018 13:28

I've ran round all week and worked every day. Today I got up at eleven and have laid on the sofa in my pj's and watched the book awards and am now binge watching classic coronation street ❤️ I think my husband is making me a gin aswell- it is the festive season. GinWine

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 15/12/2018 13:29

It's not been what I planned to do but it's been lovely so far. Had my hair done this morning now sat at home snuggled under the biggest comfiest blanket ever near the fire with my dog whilst husband cooks us a pork dinner. Happy times :-)

Nicknamesalltaken · 15/12/2018 13:33

I am hungover as hell. Been awake since 4am 🤢 on the sofa since 6.30. Pretending to be completely normal.

The upside was I had a lovely boozy lunch yesterday, which carried on at home with more friends and the entire stash of Christmas wine. I don’t drink often at all, but when I do I massively go for it.

Pushing on through and very much looking forward to tomorrow when normality is resumed.

Tinty · 15/12/2018 13:34

But you have Sky Q, and eating the delicious takeaway to look forward to also, sounds like a win to me. Xmas Smile

EdWinchester · 15/12/2018 13:35

I forgot to set an alarm, so slept through my 8am gym class. Woke up at 10.

Now having a glass of wine.

SlowNorris · 15/12/2018 13:38

I have had the most confusing day.

I can’t remember the last Saturday I haven’t worked so today woke up at 6, as normal, to get up for work. I lay there for 20 minutes trying to gather my thoughts, planning my presentation and also wondering why my alarm wasn’t set and why something felt different. Realised I had the day off so settled down again for a nap.

Woke up at 12:30 Shock

I was then convinced it was Sunday due to the fact I’ve essentially had 2 x nights sleep in one night.

I then got up and rushed to get everything sorted for a late Sunday lunch and only realised once I checked my phone properly that it’s still Saturday.

Now I’m suspicious of everything, can’t relax in case someone pipes up and tells me it’s actually Monday Grin

AppleJuiceFlood · 15/12/2018 13:38

Tinty You are right actually. Just need to be patient and wait for me reward 😂

ChristmasWrappingTheWaitresses · 15/12/2018 13:40

I've got a terrible flu virus that everybody at work had last week but insisted on coming in still so lucky me on my day off yesterday I came down with it and I'm still really rough today.

Luckily my husband has taken the little one to the football and the two big boys have done their morning sports and are now happily on their computer so I can just lie in bed and feel sorry for myself.

Badgerthebodger · 15/12/2018 13:43

Had a lovely lie in until 10.30 which NEVER happens because I’ve got a toddler, but I’ve been exhausted all week with a virus so DH managed somehow to keep the toddler from making his usual demonic screeching sounds and I slept in. Now on the sofa under a Christmas blanket pondering which biscuit I might like to eat. Blissful!

UbercornsGoggles · 15/12/2018 13:47

Slept in until 8.45 and had to wake 2 year old (!) to rush to take her to rugby tots. Had a fab run round, then back home. Had a mad few hours tidying the house, husband is out with the dog, toddler now napping, I'm close to doing the same in front of the fire. Planning on wrapping presents this afternoon while watching the snow fall.

AdoraBell · 15/12/2018 13:51

Nice long lay in ✅
Coffee in peace and quiet ✅
Rain has stopped so I’m going to wander into town just because I want to 😁

So far so good 😊

Panteli · 15/12/2018 13:56

Woke up about 7.30 got the kids sorted out with a wash and breakfast then got dress as a friend was coming sround. 11 my my friend came stayed till 12.30 then fed my 2old son then put him down for a nap . Sorted lunch out for me and the rest of the family Then watching films all day Smile

Gloopy · 15/12/2018 14:00

Well, I slept in until 9.15! With a boisterous 4 year old it's quite unheard of. OH got up at 7 with him.

Pottered about the house until 11. Went to the town with my mum for a few bits and some lunch.(Without the 4 year old.... OH is definately after something 😂)

Home now and about to start getting ready to take the 4 year old to a birthday party.

It's the first Saturday in a while I haven't been at work, so it's been great. ☺️

Finfintytint · 15/12/2018 14:06

Up at 5am (crap sleeper) and in the supermarket for 8.30.
Visited my mum in hospital for a couple of hours and am now back at home wondering what film to settle into with the dog as company. DH is at work and the cat is ignoring me.
