I had a long lie - didn’t wake up till 8.30am.

Then I watched a film - Dumpling - in bed, got breakfast in bed with my new fave thing, cappuccino, and am now bingeing on a box set.

I’ve not even got showered and dressed yet

All this, and my dog is curled at my feet.

This is rare and fab.

Lovely
Works do last night but not too much wine so no hangover
Chilled out morning on the sofa
Now dh is at the pub and I’m watching Queen and Adam Lambert on YouTube. Watched Freddie Mercury at Live Aid earlier. Amazing and just so good to revisit. I’ve always loved Queen and being quite old, I still enjoy being able to just search and watch these amazing videos online.

Well, after me whining up thread Ds2's birthday party was/is lovely! The kids have been delightful, all the activités went down super well and now they are playing table football and giggling their little heads off :) Mulled wine and mince pies for later 🍷

Slept in til 8 and then did gentle bits of housework like replacing all the baubles the cats have pulled off the tree Hmm. More energetic housework for 30 mins so ds and I both have nice fresh beds, clothes put away. Then walked around delivering local cards, I used not to do local ones but everyone round here has been amazing to us this year so I wanted to. Picked up parcels, FIL has sent me a dressing gown in the most awful colour ever, think bubble gum pink only darker. Erm, thanks- it'll be warm though. Ds went off to town to meet friends and I cycled off to go rowing, it was so cold and wet on the river but I was grinning! Back and into the biggest hottest bath with a Brew Nice day.

Up most of the night with DD3, who has an ear infection. The pain relief doesn’t last more than a couple of hours, so the period leading up to the next dose is awful. It’s been two nights in a row and I’m remembering what it was like to have a newborn!

I was up at 7 as I was volunteering at parkrun and had to be there for 8.30 and had a mile and a half walk to it. Stood and froze for an hour, walked home, went for a four and a bit mile run. Had a shower and pretty much been sat huddled in my clothes and dressing gown since trying to get warm!

I've been awake since 6 with post wisdom tooth extraction pain

But took breakfast back to bed, went and got my nails done whilst DP sleeps off hangover, had a festive bake for lunch and have cleaned the house.
Now eating stollen bites and finishing up xmas shopping online

Mixed bag here

(and the festive bake was delicious but so harsh on my poor, violated mouth)

Had a fairly relaxed day after a terrible couple of weeks (husband diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia). Christmas cards are written and pizza is ordered. Looking forward to a watching a film this evening.

Greensleeves · 15/12/2018 17:58

Christmas lunch with MIL and FIL. Usual bullshit bingo with much counting to 10 slowly. The usual nagging about our weight, the dc's hair, the dc's teeth, dh's job. Teeth-squeaking awkwardness about Brexit. MIL blithely commenting that that nice Theresa May has done so much for grammar schools and how lovely it is that Pupil Premium means that children with a lower IQ can go to a good school.

Now curled up with ds1 having hot chocolate and watching Hercule Poirot's Christmas Grin

I've had a lovely day. Took my DC to the local shopping centre for breakfast, met DM and DC cousins and DM spoilt them all with new outfits.

Went back to DM's and the DC all did crafts and played and DM and I drank copious amounts of coffee and ate copious amounts of chocolates.

Just back with my DC, who have had some cereal and now we're all in pyjamas waiting for Strictly.

I didn't sleep well last night. Went to bed as normal, woke up with a scratchy & dry throat at 1:30am, then 3:30am, then 6:30am because I forgot about my alarm being set. Went back to sleep & dd2 popped in to see me at half past 8 so I gave up and got up.

I've done four loads of washing & spring cleaned the kitchen, fixed our wreath with dd2, and just had take-away for tea. Nice, productive but steady day :)

I watched Dumplin’ today and loved it. It had me in tears in a few places.

Am off out now for dinner. Weather is utter crap ☔
