I'm trying to get my hospital bag ready and have now packed 2 nighties and a set of pjs.

What did you give birth in? Was it just a bra or anything else? I'm trying to be as prepared as possible!

Started out with a comfy t-shirt nightdress but after several hours I felt the need to be totally naked. Didn't give a shit at the time who saw me Blush

@ChocolateTearDrops I had DS2 just after Daphne and her tights gave birth, he arrived at 18.30. Tiny cottage hospital and I was the only one in maternity, those tights caused a lot of laughter that evening.

Theweasleytwins · 13/12/2018 04:11

Seniorschoolmum · 13/12/2018 04:16

A very big t-shirt

OddestSock · 13/12/2018 05:39

Hmm, somehow I ended up in a t-shirt of DHs with my first (I can't remember how!).

With my second, I just took everything off & went into the birthing pool.

KathyBates · 13/12/2018 05:44

Absolutely nothing!

snowone · 13/12/2018 06:07

A damp tankin top - this time I plan to take something dry to change in to!!

wineandcheeseplease · 13/12/2018 06:10

A vest top. Went in in pjs. Bottoms off and hey presto!

mortifiedmama · 13/12/2018 06:47

I was in a crop top/ bra type thing in the birthing pool and a baby nightie when transferred to the ward

PollyFlinderz · 13/12/2018 06:51

A manger.

FestiveNut · 13/12/2018 06:56

A black nightdress from Amazon. Happy mama was the brand.

@pollyflinderz how on Earth did you fit? Grin

Millie2013 · 13/12/2018 06:58

A gown. I’d bought some cheapy night gowns in primark, but ended up in theatre

LoniceraJaponica · 13/12/2018 07:03

A cheap nightie with buttons down the front for breast feeding that I bought from the market. Why would you keep a bra on for giving birth?

Dothehappydance · 13/12/2018 07:06

Nothing for me as well.

TheGhostOfYou · 13/12/2018 07:06

DD1- The PJ's I had on when I went into labour, well the t-shirt anyway.

DD2- My partners t-shirt.

Both times I had a nightie in my bag, the first time it never occurred to me to change, the second time there wasn't enough time

BellMcEnd · 13/12/2018 07:09

  1. A really nice maternity top lent to me by a friend. She didn’t want it back afterwards. Funny that Grin

2 & 3. Strappy vest top - both water births

stegosauruslady · 13/12/2018 07:12

Naked all three times so far. we will see what happens with number four!

QueenGoblin · 13/12/2018 07:13

I started out wearing a nightdress and bra, ended up wearing just a hospital gown.

guiltynetter · 13/12/2018 07:13

Primark nightie. cheap one so I could throw it away.

happypotamus · 13/12/2018 07:14

Both times, the long-sleeved top I had been wearing when I got to the hospital. Had taken my jeans off but never changed the top. I don't know why I didn't with DD1, and didn't have time with DD2. I did buy nighties from Primark but never wore them.

ItWentInMyEye · 13/12/2018 07:14

Long baggy tops twice, hospitals gown once

MrsChopper · 13/12/2018 07:17

A hospital gown due to having an emergency induction and I didn't have my hospital bag. In hindsight I am glad my new nighties didn't get spoilt!
