The Way - when Martin Sheen looks over at a dinner table and his dead son raises a glass to him.

I do cry a lot but the one that really stuck with me and made me sob was the short film bao they showed before Incredibles 2, all about a parent and child reconciliation

When Satine dies at the end of Moulin Rouge.

Almost the whole of the time travellers wife. I was preg and saw it at the cinema with friends. I think I made the entire row shake with suppressed sobs. Sad and The Help when the maid character has to leave may Mobley with her horrible mother. Devastating.

The end of La vita è bella / Life is Beautiful, especially as I'll have been laughing out loud earlier on in the film, despite knowing what's coming. If you haven't seen it, please do. I remember reading a review of its premier in Rome. Apparently, before it was released, it was slated as people thought a comedy set around the Holocaust was distasteful. However, no-one left the cinema with dry eyes - the critics had been won round.

War Horse - again, the ending, but also, so many bits before then too.

IAmNotLikeThat have just watched that Schindler's List link and am crying again! Went to Auschwitz and the Schindler Factory a few years ago. Also yes Cinema Paradiso and Life is Beautiful, I remember when it won the Oscar.

God so many of these. The scene in A Little Princess where she draws a circle around herself. And then at the end where she finds her dad but he doesn't remember her. She's frantically grabbing at him pleading with him to remember. And then he runs out of he house and screams her name! Sobbing mess. The books ending is even worse Sad

strawberrisc · 13/12/2018 13:42

JimandPam - I totally agree with Eight Below. Wonderful film! Watched it on a flight to the States, then the guy next to me watched it on my recommendation later on during the flight. I finished whatever I'd chosen to watch next, and there wasn't enough time to see another one, so I just watched his screen instead (though without sound) and promptly burst into tears again. Whoops!

Greenglassteacup · 13/12/2018 15:09
