I have a new favorite Christmas film!

The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix.

Bloody brilliant it is, just what I needed after a crappy day, really got me into the Christmas spirit.

And a sexy Santa Claus in the form of Kurt Russell!
(I have never fancied a father Christmas before!)

If you haven't seen it, it's a must.

I have seen it and whilst the special effects were good, the plot was a bit meh. Reading the reviews and they are not good.

I watched it last night. Agree that Santa was sexy! Wouldn't rave about it though...but I'm sure kids will love it.

The very best bit for me was the final few seconds where Santa was sitting in his chair just before the credits...as the camera panned, it briefly showed his two dogs lying on the floor. Bernese Mountain Dogs 💕💕💕 My lovely Berner died this year 😢

What was your favourite Christmas film before that though? I’m trying to judge if we have similar tastes!

Oh it’s amazing isn’t it, worth of being a “proper” film not just Netflix! Loved it.

My fave is still the santa clause movie. I liked CC though, silly but enjoyable.

My favourite of all time is Elf. Am planning to watch it later, also Home Alone.
The trees going up this afternoon, so might have a double bill of those movies later, with a glass of baileys, bliss!

@northernknickers we lost our lovely gentle Bernese last year. Myself, DH and kids all let out a sigh when we spotted the 2 beautiful ones at the end of the movie.

I should have added we all loved the movie. Kids have watched it now a few times.

I thought it was ok but it wasn't amazing. It borrows a lot from other films (especially Elf) but whereas Elf, Home Alone etc work on two levels and entertain adults and children alike I felt this was just a kids' film really. The plot wasn't funny or clever enough for most adults I didn't think.

@Frasa oh sorry to hear that. They are so beautiful aren't they? Huge hole in my heart and life...but always lovely to spot one (or two!!) elsewhere as you rarely get to see them.

Glad your kids loved the movie and spotted the dogs 💕

Watching it just now. It's about time there was another huge generational classic Xmas movie so hoping this is it :)

We enjoyed it, we've seen all the other Christmassy films so it was nice to watch something new. Elf is still my favourite though.

Oh I want to watch this with the kids (8+6), can I ask if it will make them think santa isn't real? There's no big reveal or anything?

planning to watch this as have heard good things. My dcs favourite is The Grinch (the Jim Carey version) and we will all be watching that at some point. I should add that the DCs are 27, 25 and 17!

We all absolutley loved it, the elves were the best 😂😂 It’s refreshing to have a modern good Christmas film, non nowadays seem to match up to the oldies.
