The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix.

Bloody brilliant it is, just what I needed after a crappy day, really got me into the Christmas spirit.

And a sexy Santa Claus in the form of Kurt Russell!
(I have never fancied a father Christmas before!)

If you haven't seen it, it's a must.

@thornyhousewife no,no big reveal. If anything they might think even more Santa is real. We watched with my dd (7) at least 4 times and I think it’s a lovely Christmas story. Santa is sexy and love Santa’s wife. Also the Dad in the storyline. Tonight we watched The Polar Express. Firm favourite with Elf as well x

MutedUser · 09/12/2018 01:22

I think it has replaced Elf as my favourite ever Xmas film

OvO · 09/12/2018 02:18

I watched with my 14 year old and 11 year old DS's and we all loved it!🎅

It’s given me inappropriate thought about Santa though. 😬

WWYDhelpplease · 09/12/2018 07:45

Haha 0v0. Me too!

Dogsorlogs · 09/12/2018 08:18

We loved it.

Also fancied kurt Russell. But I fancy Billy bob Thornton as bad santa so clearly I have dreadful taste

WhoopiGoldbergsCat · 09/12/2018 08:36

Yep definitely been having fantasies of Santa ( Kurt Russell) oming down my chimney!
It's the dirty grey beard I think!

We’ve just watched it and thought it was brilliant!

kizzywizz · 09/12/2018 08:57

Can anyone tell me when Elf is on please ? Thanks.

Notagainagainagain · 09/12/2018 09:00

Opened this thread hoping it was this. Also loved it. Not sure it’s my absolute favourite. But definitely one to add in to my Christmas film rotation.

WWYDhelpplease · 09/12/2018 09:01

Elf is on ITV a week today. Don’t know the time though.

C0untDucku1a · 09/12/2018 09:03

Im enjoying the christmas calendar right now

twosoups1972 · 09/12/2018 10:07

I watched it with 11 year old, great film, I might have sobbed a bit.

ohtheholidays · 09/12/2018 12:24

Oh I've seen that advertised but I've not watched it yet.

I shall have to watch it tonight.

Roomba · 09/12/2018 12:26

My six year old watched this at his Dad's the other day. Came home saying it was the best film he'd ever seen and its his new favourite. He's been pestering me for days to watch it with him, I may have to now despite hating cheesy Christmas films.

Frustratedmum78 · 09/12/2018 17:22

We loved it, the kids really loved it and that’s all that matters. I think the people who were so horrible with the reviews should let a little Christmas magic in their lives!

TheKitchenWitch · 09/12/2018 18:31

We all enjoyed it too. I've never really got the love for Elf, I thought it was a bit meh tbh.

ASauvignonADay · 09/12/2018 18:36

I loved it too!

Petalflowers · 09/12/2018 18:42

We watched it this afternoon, and really enjoyed it. It is a bit twee and predictable in parts, but well acted and believable.

Worth watching and nice to have a new Christmas movie to watch.

Vintagebeads · 09/12/2018 18:43

I love Christmas films the cheesy one's in particular.
Didn't like this one Confused

UatuTheWatcher · 09/12/2018 18:55

We sat down as a family to watch it after I’d seen Kurt Russel on Graham Norton and it’s definitely going in the collection of films that we watch at Christmas time.

It’s not the best film ever but it was a perfect example of s a cheesfest Christmas film.

RaspberryBeret34 · 09/12/2018 19:37

Loved it and it was the first non cartoony film that my DS(6) really enjoyed and the first film he has asked to watch again.

AugustRose · 09/12/2018 20:53

I must have watched a different film to most of you, I thought it was crap, the kids are so annoying. DCs (11 and 7) liked it but they didn't gush, 16 year old chose not to watch it.

Our favourite is Elf by a long mile, and 7 year old loves Home Alone - but then he would love to replicate all the traps to catch the burglars!

WinterfellWench · 09/12/2018 23:03

Never heard of it. But will go look now1

WinterfellWench · 09/12/2018 23:04

That 1 should be a !

CookiePolicy · 09/12/2018 23:12

I really didn’t like it. Thought the bad behaviour of the brother was unnecessarily serious - car theft?? Actual criminal behaviour rather than just teenage rebellion. Santa was a bit grim with trying to make him edgy, who wants a sexy Santa? Cringe. I’d rather he was a safe and cosy character for kids and I didn’t like all his fat shaming comments aimed at usual portrayals of Santa. I also didn’t like how it’s clearly trying to replace the Santa letters with YouTube style videos. The internet will be filled with these next year. As for the crappy cgi elves... Hmm
