Love a good disaster film. Just watching 2012. What's your favourite?

Twister
I'm sure there are others, but for the life of me, I can't recall any.

ChristmasWrappingTheWaitresses · 06/12/2018 23:10

Oh I do love a good disaster movie.

I'll happily watch any of them to be honest I dont think I have a favourite.

OutragedERIC · 06/12/2018 23:14

Got to be the Poseidon Adventure.

GoodHeavensNoImAChicken · 06/12/2018 23:15

Day after tomorrow!

TrueWierdness · 06/12/2018 23:16

Iron floor, I'd put Twister in my top 3.

Outraged - the original or remake?

ShoutyMcShoutFace · 06/12/2018 23:19

Deep impact for sure

OutragedERIC · 06/12/2018 23:20

Original for sure!

ChristmasWrappingTheWaitresses · 06/12/2018 23:20

Contagion is a good one

wishpot · 06/12/2018 23:22

Outbreak. Or the 33 was good

Calzone · 06/12/2018 23:23

Die Hard

Going to see it again with ds at Cineworld on the 22 December......

EsmereldaWasRight · 06/12/2018 23:23

The Core!

Lilyabelle · 06/12/2018 23:25

Towering Inferno! It’s a bit dated now (70s) but for some reason I love it. Paul Newman and Steve McQueen deliver on the eye candy too in my eye, which is an added bonus!

Mormont · 06/12/2018 23:27

The Towering Inferno is my favourite too!

Lilyabelle · 06/12/2018 23:27

Ooh, I’m fond of The Core too, Esmeralda! The story is so ridiculous it’s bloody fantastic!

TwistedStitch · 06/12/2018 23:27

Independence Day
All the Die Hards
White House Down
Air Force One

Flapjackninja · 06/12/2018 23:27

I love disaster movies. Favourites are 2012, The day after tomorrow, Dante's peak and twister. Wasn't to keen on San Andreas or Skyscraper

AlwaysSomethingThere · 06/12/2018 23:34

Titanic

FadedRed · 06/12/2018 23:50

Juggernaut-British made about a luxury liner. 1970/80’s. Line up of famous actors, Richard Harris, Anthony Hopkins, Omar Sharif, David Hemmings etc. Lots of witty humour with added peril. Dated now, of course, but still watch it on DVD occasionally.

icclemunchy · 06/12/2018 23:56

Dante's peak. Followed closely by twister!

Tony2 · 07/12/2018 00:02

A 1960 film called The Last Voyage. Rarely shown sinking ship film. A woman is trapped, Woody Strode, bloody brilliant, cracking tension.

festivedramallama · 07/12/2018 00:07

Another vote for the towing inferno. Recentish film would be 28 Days later

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 07/12/2018 00:11

Oh, definitely Towering Inferno and The Poseidon Adventure, but I’m a seventies child. Shelley Winters doing that swim? Heartbreaking!

playftseforme · 07/12/2018 00:13

Agree with Towering Inferno and Poseidon Adventure

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 07/12/2018 00:15

PS the Dr Who hat-tip to The Poseidon Adventure, The Voyage of the Damned, was a bloody good modern take on the disaster genre.
