Yep they’re gross now. I don’t normally mind changes to chocolate but these are particularly bad now.

I’m not sure they were ever ‘nice’ but I agree they are grim. I’d rather have nothing than those.

They’ve been like it for years now. Absolutely vile, waxy chocolate.

We had a box at work. Really didnt enjoy them. I bought some of the McVities Victoria biscuits. They all had some grim coating on them. Ruined them, they have!

Cadbury’s is as grim as hell now.

Cadbury was sold off.

James Cadbury is working on the supply chain and wants to get as close as possible to the old recipe.

He gave Mumsnet a deal a few months ago, worth trying.

All revolting now, never sure if its recipe change or my tastes have changed. I buy chocolates from Aldi these days or make my own truffles if I want to indulge using 100% cocoa chocolate (or as close to as I can source if not planning ahead)

I hate what they have done to Cadbury’s. I always used to top my cakes with Cadbury’s chocolate but it doesn’t even melt properly now

I’ve been confused about the reports of ‘waxy’ chocolate for ages, then I had some Cadbury’s recently. It’s horrendous.

Tbh though, I read loads about the change in taste when Kraft took over but I didn't notice much of a difference then. These roses are something else

They taste horrific. All my old favourite chocolate bars too. Only good thing is I’m not tempted to buy them. Don’t know why anybody does.

I thought we were meant to be using less plastic not more.

I wouldn't knowingly buy anything with palm oil, because of the destruction of the rainforests.

Palm oil. It's ruined everything. Artificial sweeteners so they can get round the sugar tax.

No chocolates even lint taste nice. All boxes of chocolates seem to be mush.

I'm hoping their jewel box has crisp clearly defined tasting chocolates from days of yore with properly defined textures and flavours.

What chocolate do people recommend?

I now spend a fortune of bars of good quality dark chocolate with sea salt.
