What does the Tooth Fairy want children's teeth FOR?

I can only think of nightmarish answers.

Does she eat them?

Does she build a castle out of them?

Is it because if a witch gets a part of your body the witch can curse you, and the tooth fairy's job is to keep you safe from that?

They carve them into the shape of a seahorse, then sprinkle them with fairy magic and they come alive and go into the sea to live. Do you know nothing?!!!

I'm with Nettle: they're carved into delightful, fairy-sized trinkets.

I think the fairy dust is the best, helps them fly.

To recycle them, of course. Healthy teeth make lovely fairy dust.

She plants them in the fairy garden where they grow into special magical trees with beautiful flowers on them. The cleanest teeth make the most impressive trees, obviously.

That’s what I told my nieces when SIL asked if I could reply to their letter to the tooth fairy anyway 😂

So fairy dust is ground up teeth? I find this quite a harrowing concept.

She makes shiny white little fairy houses with them.

my child was hugely traumatised by the thought they were made into fairy dust... there was much backpedaling although I can't remember what I came up with in the end!

She gives them to new babies. If they're not brushed properly she can't use them so she gives you less money 😀

I think in Hogfather it was because children could be controlled through magic if someone had their teeth- think original tooth fairy was protecting them but then someone else set up a group of tooth faries to collect the teeth and stop the children believing in the Hogfather so the sun didn't come up.....this may not be correct, also been a while!

Bit gross with hindsight but I was told she drops them back to the dentist to be turned into dentures.

She grinds them up into fairy dust to sprinkle on all the newborn babies to make their teeth grow.

The tooth fairies throw them at naughty people. They have tooth-firing pop guns, too.

When I was a kid my dentist had some story books in the waiting room. According to one of those she builds castles with them

just keeps them in a magic bag.all sparkly like.a bit like mary poppins so you never see them they are just kept safe in there.and from the outside it ust looks like a magical sparkly bag on her shoulder.
