The cheese goes on the pile of pots to be washed up, and the grater goes on the cheese shelf in the fridge Confused

So tired I sat in the playground for about 30 minutes with no one else around. DS happily playing away by himself. Wondered why the bell didn't go. Then deputy head came out to tell me it was an inset day. Fuck.

colouringinpro · 29/11/2018 23:10

Driving up to a roundabout and for at least 3-4 seconds having no idea where I am or where I should go Confused

Switcherpoo · 29/11/2018 23:11

And when DS was a newborn I kept dreaming that I was 'on shift' and about to fall asleep. Shouting for DH to come and take the baby. He woke me up to make sure I knew it was a dream, just so that i wouldn't claim I'd done my shift.

I always took every wake -up before 2am and DH did them all after 2am. I think I got the better deal, 5 hours sleep before he'd leave for work.

Putting letters in the toaster instead of the fridge, warming a bottle then putting it in the mug cupboard

marthastew · 29/11/2018 23:16

Using the car bipper to try and open the front door.

Your IPhone doesn't recognise your face.

RosieAndJimDoTheOldRagDoll · 29/11/2018 23:16

On the phone to HMRC and needed to spell out my name. I got it wrong 3 times, then I just gave up and stopped correcting myself. I'll sort it out another day!

Trying to zoom in on a newspaper, not on online copy but an actual newspaperBlush

I regularly get into the shower and realise I’ve left my glasses and/or socks on. Usually only cop it when I wonder why my vision is getting all spotty.

Arrived home yesterday to say “Alexa, turn on the... whatyamaycallits... the bright things”. Meant lights.

Once rang someone to book an appointment. As the phone was ringing, I kind of zoned out. When they answered, I didn’t hear them say “hello”, so then I said “hello”, and they said “yes?” which somehow annoyed me so I responded with “who is this and why have you called me, please?”

You pour cereal in your coffee. Sad

safariboot · 29/11/2018 23:32

Putting letters in the toaster instead of the fridge

I think you need some sleep!

BathFullOfEels · 29/11/2018 23:32

My 2yo fell off the sofa the other day as he fell asleep watching tv. He landed on the rug, didn’t wake up and I lay down next to him and went straight to sleep. It was amazing.

MissMarplesKnitting · 29/11/2018 23:33

Kettle boiling water on cereal. Not tea.

Cried.

Bluerussian · 29/11/2018 23:36

BathFullofEels - I remember doing that too. It was amazing.

GobbyMcGobshite · 29/11/2018 23:40

Put face wash on my toothbrush

Poured hot water directly into a tub of formula instead of baby bottle

Put my phone/remote/brew/glasses in the fridge

Stared at the cashier for at least 30 seconds after they said 'thank you, goodbye, the receipt is in the bag' because I couldn't remember if I had paid or not

Told the yodel woman 'I don't have a signature at home' when she asked me to sign the electric box thingy - to be fair on me I was less than 72 hours into being a first time mum and I was still shellshocked at the fact a human had come out of my ninny and was now chewing my nipples

JulieBindelAteMyHomework · 29/11/2018 23:46

I went shopping once , after wandering around town for a few hours I got the bus home, it was only as I walked up the driveway that I realised I'd gone by car 😳 I had to get the bus back in to get it 😂

brizzledrizzle · 30/11/2018 02:10

When you are doing a presentation at work and putting financial information on a white board - you run out of space and so rub something out and then remember that was part of a forecast that you were about to refer back to but you've forgotten what it was already.

When you're still sitting in your car on the drive, an hour or even 2 after arriving home.

When you stay sitting in your car on the drive until the time you have to set off out somewhere again.

When you call the DCs by the pets' names and vice versa.

When you put the pet food in to the bowl already full of their drinking water.

When you're looking at baby clothes in a shop, rocking as you do so to sooth your baby, and people are looking over to admire your wonderful mothering and beautiful baby, except the baby is at home or in the car with the family.

When you just can't get out of bed, despite being desperate for a wee and a drink, perhaps also paracetamol and a hot water bottle, or perhaps making yourself late for something.

When you drive around your village with your house keys, purse and phone on your car roof.

When you search for ages for your specs, even asking for help from others and getting quite cross that you can't find them, and then someone points out or you spot in the mirror that your specs are on your head.

I have a lot more.

UnlawfulBananaPeeler · 30/11/2018 07:46

When you do the school run with your jumper inside out and back to front.

Equally when you rush the kids out of the house and realise half way to school one had no shoes on.... only after she told me 🤦🏻‍♀️

Silversun83 · 30/11/2018 08:32

When you put your child's shoes on the wrong feet, only realise when you're in the car, take them off and still can't work out which one goes on which foot.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 30/11/2018 08:35

When you day dream about being hit by a car so you can spend a few days in hospital …. alone ….. in bed ….. (not seriously hurt obv, but just enough to be hospitalised).

Or you contemplate shop lifting so you could be arrested and spend a night in a cell …… alone ….. asleep.

This was me during the first few months of my twins birth.

Bigonesmallone3 · 30/11/2018 09:42

At work once I was suppose to ask someone if they would like me to bring the card machine over..

In my tired state I asked 'would u like me to bring over the coffee machine'

They looked at me like what?!?!

lucysmam · 30/11/2018 18:52

Some of these are funny Grin Not having a signature at home made me properly laugh @GobbyMcGobshite! I'm glad I'm not alone in the "does daft things when tired" camp!

I remember putting the telly remote in the fridge when I was pregnant and veery tired!

Couldn’t find it and just couldn’t think where on earth I’d put it!
