Anyone from Pontefract? Where is this angel? (With artistic interpretation from dd)

Dd played rugby at Pontefract and saw an angel.
Where is it and what is it?
It’s really bugging us. We’ve googled but can’t find anything.

She thought it was the angel of the north, but geography isn’t her strong point!

Was it definitely IN Pontefract and not one of the smaller surrounding villages? Like Upton, Darlington, Carleton, Ackworth, Hemsworth, South Elmsall, South Kirkby etc

How old is dd? How random might her interpretation be?!

DH is from Leeds, he’s no idea 🤔

Now i’m thinking. Where did she travel from? On the road from the old bit of Ackworth to Ponte, there are lots of old stone buildings. Old Ackworth (around Ackworth School ) is rather “naice”, I would be surprised if there’s a stone carved angel somewhere along there

Do you know the route she took? You could look it up on google street view and see if you can find it.

Could it have been anything to do with The Angel Inn?
