Anyone up?

I'm up because I had lasagne at 8pm and it's given me terrible acid reflux and I woke up with acid in my throat and feeling quite sick. Have come downstairs and put a crappy Christmas film on. Going Christmas shopping in the morning so hope I can get back to sleep soon 💤

Why are you up?

Tis where you get your black belt from childwrangling!

Not sure how I'm going to get through tomorrow, sleep will not be coming my way tonight, best not to.

Shriek · 27/11/2018 03:35

4nonblondes Flowers love, I hope you are comfortable now

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 27/11/2018 03:49

Tell me about it, Shriek. I sometimes think I'm an imposter with the black belt, and I should just go back to wringing. Wink

And you - anything we can do?

Best wishes to all the night shift BrewFlowers

Haha! Yes, remember that! Clearly a black belt with these all-nighters you are pulling.

Me, ah, dunno. I have a house-full tomorrow, different people doing different things plus one guest very much uninvited and unwanted, just very worried about it. Hopefully they won't here long, but its their job to approve, and they just might not! I know, riddles! But I dont see how I'm gonna sleep with that impending

WhoAteAllTheDinosaurs · 27/11/2018 03:56

Up as am 38 weeks pregnant with heartburn and insomnia after steroid injections. Got another one today, oh joy. Then c section on Thursday. So will be all rested for then... er... also the usual ouchy bump and can't get comfortable.

Shriek · 27/11/2018 03:59

Those last two weeks are the worst, but baby getting big! Exciting! Oh you are meeting onThursday!!!

Penguinsetpandas · 27/11/2018 04:02

I have been up writing a research paper.

Starlight345 · 27/11/2018 04:03

Good luck for Thursday. The end is in sight although you still won’t be sleeping.

My Ds is struggling cried most of the evening cried himself to sleep . I am now really worried about him even though he is asleep , worried what morning will bring 😢

Shriek · 27/11/2018 04:05

Oh dear, thats sad to hear star can you share what's happened?

Shriek · 27/11/2018 04:07

I have been up writing a research paper

MNing is useful though right

Starlight345 · 27/11/2018 04:09

He is in trouble at school for something he didn’t do at school. He won’t tell tales.

He is going into isolation but has adhd , anxiety . It is the first time this has happened I doubt he will cope with isolation.

Alwaysneedgin · 27/11/2018 04:11

@Shriek I'm watching Bridget Jones' baby on Netflix. Just as productive I'm sure! 😂

Starlight345 · 27/11/2018 04:13

I can hear him tossing and turning 😔

Starlight345 · 27/11/2018 04:14

I saw Bridget Jones baby at the cinema on a very rare night out

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 27/11/2018 04:16

Oh that sounds hard, Star. I hope some sleep helps him at least a little bit.

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 27/11/2018 04:18

Would it help if you dozed alongside him, Star? I hope he's getting support at school.

Isadora2007 · 27/11/2018 04:19

He is going into isolation but has adhd , anxiety

The school has to make “reasonable adjustments” to any disciplinary procedures they have in place due to his additional support needs. I would be going in and explaining that while I agree he needs some form of sanction- isolation is NOT suitable due to his needs and you don’t agree to it happening. Take him home if he “needs” to be away from his peers. Back him up on this one- the school are in the wrong. Go give him a cuddle too and if he is awake reassure him you WILL help sort this out. Use his ASN if you need to- and say they are at risk of being disablist.

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 27/11/2018 04:21

The more I hear about this isolation business, the less I like the sound of it. And it often seems to be children with SEN who end up there.

Shriek · 27/11/2018 04:21

Ooo star poor chap. Will they do that to him with ADHD? Surely he should have something that wouldn't cause more distress than it be reasonably expected to cause any other child?

Ha! Thats ok then Always

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 27/11/2018 04:25

That sounds...challenging Shriek, and something you could do with a couple of hours sleep to help you tackle! Any chance now, before dawn?

Shriek · 27/11/2018 04:28

Just feel so edge...worried not enough preparation done, keep looking around and thinking I need to get up and finish but then post on another thread instead

GinaLinetti99 · 27/11/2018 04:29

Been up since 3 with a nagging cough and cold (it's been 4 weeks, I feel abysmal). DD2 has woken up and is having a little whinge in her cot.

Alwaysneedgin · 27/11/2018 04:30

I agree with the others Star, how old is he? Is there any way you can sleep in his room to give him some comfort? How old is he?

What will he actually be doing in isolation? He should be saying who is responsible really rather than taking the punishment himself. Appreciate this is really difficult though.

Shriek · 27/11/2018 04:30

How's your DC doing there lady black belt?

GreenTeacup · 27/11/2018 04:31

Aww sparkle I feel for you.

I have chronic insomnia too. I normally manage around 3.5hrs a night and top up with an hour during the day but this last week I have been getting just over 1 hour a night.

Husband works 12 hour night shifts and no family help. I am unable to take strong medication as I am solely responsible for young children and I am hyper sensitive to so many medications that most have the opposite effect of what they should do.

Really hoping something gives soon as I can’t go on for much longer Sad
