I am STILL waiting for this baby! We are scheduled for induction today as it’s been going on so long, so I might have to jump off the bus to have this baby (quickly I hope!) and then bring a newborn on for cuddles. We (DH & my 5 year old) are snuggled up on the sofa watching Happy Feet, waiting for the phone call from hospital to say there’s a bed free for us to go in. How’s the pain now @Seafour?

Izzy24 · 08/12/2018 11:38

Well I don’t think we can manage an induction on the bus but if you go into spontaneous labour I’m sure we’ll manage.....Wink

Seafour · 08/12/2018 11:45

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a rough night, a very rough night, I developed a high temperature, my blood pressure went missing for a while and there were lots of doctors around my bed looking concerned and digging for veins to take fresh blood from.

It was a bit of a surreal night, I was given three units of blood and a cocktail of antibiotics which seem to have done the trick.

I’m really struggling to write posts to you, the ketamine makes it difficult to focus and I’m pretty dopey from the morphine. I write a few words and then nod off.

There’s so much I want to say but I just can’t manage it right now. I want you all to know that I’m thinking about you.

Sea please don't worry about posting right now. Just know that we're all here for you no matter how long it takes for you to get your strength up. I think you're bloody amazing managing to post at all! Get some rest!

The bus is just fine with all these lovely people on board, there's a big comfy bed waiting for you when you're ready

We are all rooting for you, and hope that the pain gets better very quickly. I'm very happy the staff are being proactive.

Keep fighting! Flowers

justasyouare · 08/12/2018 14:01

If you need to sleep then bloody well sleep, do not worry about updating the bus passengers!

I’m sorry you had a scary night, but happy that they got you sorted.

Now, I wonder what ridiculous things we can all write, knowing that Mr Seafour has to read them out loud in a hospital ward Xmas WinkHalo

NancyWho · 08/12/2018 14:38

Agreed with everyone else, don't bother about entertaining the bus, there's time for the later.
For now sleep and get well.

Went for a walk today with DH, it was cold and windy but beautiful...and then the rains came down so we rushed home.
Before the rain I thought of you as we walked, despite it being December it's still quite Autumnal out, there are leaves around but some trees are completely bare.

If DH is reading this then I'll say hello and that I admire his strength, to see someone you love so ill is tough too.

To repeat myself; sleep well and get well sea.

TofuPanda · 08/12/2018 14:43

Don't worry about us on the bus, I'm sitting at the back keeping everyone in check Wink and looking forward to when you are well enough to join us. We are with you. So sorry you had such a rough night, I really hope things are beginning to improve a little. And Hello to your DH... I hope we haven't been too embarrassing... Xmas Grin hic Gingulp Wineswig Cake scoff...

notapizzaeater · 08/12/2018 14:48

Don't worry about us, we will all be here when you are !

I'm just about to wrap my sulking 16 year old ASD man child up and drag him to stokheld patk where we WILL have a good Time ....

Retreatbynameretreatbynature · 08/12/2018 15:38

Hello Sea, I just wanted to send you love and strength and best wishes. 🌷🌷🌷What an awful night you’ve had, it must have seemed so scary for you. I’m pleased that DH is with you and reading everyone’s messages. Just knowing that we’re all thinking of you will hopefully be a good medicine. It’s amazing that you’ve been through so much and yet you’re still wanting to post messages. It’s testament to your strong character and determination, that’s for sure. It’s a gloomy, wet day where I am and my DD is very unwell so we’re at home. Christmas plans are almost forgotten because of the way things are at home, but just being together and knowing that people care is priceless. I hope you know that feeling as you begin your recovery. Please rest and let those around you look after you. To your DH, stay strong and take care of yourself too. I’m thinking of you both. X

Applesandpears23 · 08/12/2018 19:39

I am thinking about you as we go about life with 2 small people. It was the school christmas fair today and we put the tree up this evening. Lots of arguments about the tree chocolates but lots of laughing too. I have brought some mulled wine back for the bus and we are raising a glass to you.

Atreus · 08/12/2018 19:52

Throughout the whole day I've found myself thinking about you here too, Sea. From the time this morning when we went and cut down the most rubbish Christmas Tree ever (because I felt sorry for it and didn't want it to be left behind), to Christmas shopping in the rain with my 18 year old thinking about what a lovely young lady she has become, to ten minutes ago when I accidentally sucked a cat shit up my hoover nozzle (don't ask) - you, your bravery, your humour has been with me. Hang in there and hope tonight is more comfortable...

DaffydownClock · 08/12/2018 19:54

Buggeration Seafour, that sounds pretty shitty to me ☹️, I'm really not surprised you're struggling to focus doesn't the vet knock horses out with Ketamine pre-castration?
Poor Mr. Seafour he must be wondering what crazy women his DW has got mixed up with!
Went for a wander earlier, mizzly and chilly here, few leaves left on the trees but a strong wind has sprung up in the last hour so they probably won't last much longer. After seeing very few birds for the past three months, they're back with a vengeance - goldfinches, Tom tits, nuthatch, sparrows, starlings and robins (who keep fighting each other).
Dh is regretting putting out mealworms because a magpie is scoffing the lot 😳 (I think he thought the robins would like some, fat chance!)
Anyway, very much hoping you have a better night and hugs to you and dh.

DaffydownClock · 08/12/2018 19:57

😂 ....cat shit up the Hoover nozzle...
Sorry for laughing, my DH managed to plaster cat shit all around the Hoover beater bars and the filters a few years ago. It cost him a new Dyson 😄 The smell was indescribable......

Roystonv · 08/12/2018 20:35

Wishing you all the best for a better night, bless all of those caring for you. Horrid night in South Cumbria, lashing with rain and wind howling through the windows. Made some oatie biscuits and a rather sunken coffee cake for the bus. Sleep tight.

JustLurkingAway · 08/12/2018 20:43

Evening Seafour, I hope you're doing wellThanks

AwdBovril · 08/12/2018 21:05

I'm Yorkshire, it's been horrid weather here too, several days of almost continual rain. Have just discovered a bottle of raspberry gin so things are looking up! Happy to share.

Hope you have as peaceful a night as possible. Flowers

jarhead123 · 08/12/2018 21:08

Oh bless you just catching up. Hope you're feeling better soon x
