I’m getting my suitcase reasy to board! I’m thinking lots of trashy magazines for us all to share whilst we wait for you to have your op. Plus phone chargers and iPads ...... Xmas shopping could be completed with joint searching for online bargains.

I’ve just realised that @seafour you have a very good incentive for a quick recovery...... imagine how many posts you will need to catch up on!Wink

I hope you will be feeling as well as possible today and that the symptoms of your medication removal are no worse than yesterday. I’m crossing everything that there will be the correct blood for you, whilst being eternally grateful to those that selflessly give the blood that is, quite often, taken for granted by some.
Nearly there!

bexcee · 05/12/2018 07:29

Good luck for the blood matching today @Seafour and I hope that this time tomorrow everything's in place and ready for you.

Seafour · 05/12/2018 08:34

Good morning everyone, a good night, numbers are looking better. Just enjoying a cup of tea in bed then it's on with my day. This time tomorrow I will be on my way down to theatre (unless an emergency has to use my theatre first). It feels strange, I've waited such a long time for this, I remember when I was in the first week of my recovery from the first part of the surgery, thinking it would all be over soon. Little did we know what was to come, so here I am twenty one long painful months later almost at the starting post. I should be 4" taller this time next week if all goes to plan.

For those who weren't here for the start of the thread, there are luxury toilets with complimentary luxury toiletries, there is a well stocked bar, canapés and champagne served at 6:00pm every evening. Childcare facilities and petting zoo (where you can leave small furries) are located on the top deck.
I can thoroughly recommend the staff restaurant on floor C of the hospital for which complimentary passes will be given out on boarding. It is conveniently close to the multi faith centre for those who wish to offer up a prayer. The bus will be collecting you all from your home addresses and will then park in the main car park for the duration of my stay.

My original name on MN was "C4pinkwheels" so the bus will display the C4 instead of a destination and have pink sparkly livery, just like my favourite wheelchair, it will have a purple go faster stripe to reflect my wheelchair that folds up small enough to fit in the boot of the very fast two seater sitting on my drive, which I love to drive. That car fills a tiny bit of the gap left by not being able to participate in extreme sports anymore.

If anyone see's a tall handsome man with receding salt and pepper hair and a slight limp (needs a new knee) and a worried, lost look on his face, stop and give him a hug, tell him it will be ok, even if it's not ok he will be fine.

So I guess you lot will want to see a photograph of me today or you won't recognise me when you come and visit will you. I will try and find one that truly reflects me and post it later.

Picking up from our home addresses..... I’ve just had visions of the Knight Bus in Harry Potter..... surely that’s the only way it can get to us all. I’m hoping the journey is a bit smoother!

Keep yourself occupied today Seafour, you’re nearly there and you’ve so got this!!

Izzy24 · 05/12/2018 09:04

I’m so excited to be on the bus I’ve almost forgotten there’s an important reason for the journey 😊
Which just shows how effective your approach to all this is Sea.

Many hands make light work and there are certainly very many hands indeed for you here.

Seafour · 05/12/2018 09:04

Justasyouare keeping busy today won't be a problem at all, I have a very long to do list.

Seafour · 05/12/2018 09:39

Hello and welcome to your fabulous PA - wishing you well Seafour, will be following your journey. Hopefully the "power" of MN will help just a little bit Smile

TheTempest · 05/12/2018 11:25

I’m thinking of you today and tomorrow Sea ❤️ My dad is in hospital having an operation and we nearly lost him the last few times so I’m sitting in the car park of the hospital waiting for news, I’ll stay here in spirit tomorrow and wait for you. I so hope everything goes well xx

NicoAndTheNiners · 05/12/2018 11:27

As well as wishing you strength courage and health, I wish you kind gentle charming brilliant nurses, therapists and doctors.

And I'm looking forward to seeing your pic, as I'm sure everyone who's been following this thread will. 😃

FuckBrussel · 05/12/2018 13:03

Oh, Seafour...bless you, the strongest of us would have a wobble under those circumstances. We are all here for you, and we are all thinking about you.

I'm glad we walked the dogs yesterday. It's a grim, grey, damp day today, and they are strictly fairweather dogs. I insisted that we went out for a little stroll, and they both protested in their own inimitable fashion. As of this morning, they have been rechristened Shitbreath and Grumpy.

Also, I have a question for @thefabulouspa - if you're in charge on the bus, does that mean I'm going to have to stick to the clean versions of my bus journey songs?

Seafour · 05/12/2018 13:27

Thefabulouspa has managed to lock herself out of her new MN account so may return with a different user name.

Bad language is positively encouraged, I find it aids pain relief.

Is there a seat left? I’ve been following the bus but it would be lovely to be aboard. I’ll just sit at the back and join in when I’ve got to know everyone. I’m a listener and observer, but a good handholder too

Thefabulouspa · 05/12/2018 14:01

The fabulous pa had a very minor set back with setting up said Mumsnet account but has overcome with without the use of any foul language and is happy to be involvedSmile

Seafour · 05/12/2018 14:04

Collette welcome, we all the type who ask for the back seat!!! It's always the quiet ones you need to watch Grin

Ha ha, yes, once I've settled in I might be trouble! Wink

Izzy24 · 05/12/2018 14:45

So far I have (mis)read
The Fabulous Spa
The Fabulous Pa
and finally
The Fabulous P A

Welcome to all of you 😊

Bobbiepin · 05/12/2018 14:48

I read the fabulous spa. Happy to have you, Fabulous PA.

@seafour when will you hear about the blood?

Gramgram · 05/12/2018 14:56

@Seafour can you give us an idea of your favourite music so we can hum, sing, whistle or shout at Alexa to play it. Music can help aid recovery.

Hoping everything falls into place and goes well. Flowers

justasyouare · 05/12/2018 15:13

Does that mean they definitely have the correct blood for you Seafour?
