What could you talk about all day?

I'm Autistic so have a tendency to be particularly obsessive but I could talk about my favourite band all day(Rammstein). Also World Cinema even though I'm not especially knowledgeable on the subject but I could discuss my favourite films non stop. Also books.

What's your pet subject?

Pets!

Chewbecca · 20/11/2018 17:44

Food.

Have you booked tickets to see Rammstein at MK next year?

Labradoodliedoodoo · 20/11/2018 17:45

If you’re wanting to encourage discussion a good start is to ask other people questions, listen to answers and ask more questions based on their answers. Nobody wants to be talked at

Bigonesmallone3 · 20/11/2018 17:46

Pregnancy and birth stories

Trethew · 20/11/2018 17:47

I’ve a few specialist subjects, damp, accounting, dogs, cats, strictly come dancing.

I’m a treat.

Blacktoffeecat · 20/11/2018 17:49

Dentistry - oh dear!

Spieluhr · 20/11/2018 17:49

I'm more than capable of talking to people, Labradoodliedoo. I didn't claim that I wasn't. I tend to reserve my ramblings for fellow fans and Tumblr. I'm autistic and yes I have some social issues but I'm perfectly capable of having a two way conversation.

China (the country) and software development! Lucky my OH is a software engineer too! :)

Spieluhr · 20/11/2018 17:50

I have Chewbacca. I can't wait.

You just reminded me, that I really enjoy talking about food too.

Food Blush My colleague/friend is a proper foodie so we discuss recipes all day long (boss is a wannabe foodie so he doesn't mind) We have some neanderthal colleagues who order in kfc/McDonald's so there are regular food-offs in our company Grin

HugAndRoll · 20/11/2018 17:51

It's not what was asked Labradoodliedoodoo, and if you're only allowed to ask questions, surely you're then just being talked at?

I'm also autistic, as are my children. My special subject is actually autism. I volunteer for an autism charity, do talks at schools and other places, am a peer-support person etc. I could talk to anyone about it, and often do (usually invited Wink)

I'm actually interested in medical conditions in general (I'm generalising here in adding this under autism - I know that most work using the neurodiversity model now, but then again it's difficult to ignore co-existing medical conditions when talking about autism).

I can also talk lots about films and books.

I can yap for hours about The Rolling Stones and all of the songs and stories that surround them.I blame a Brian Jones mad sister!
Also I love discussing John F Kennedy and his family and politics and the quite big impact he had on the world.
I was born in the wrong decade, that's for sure.

Nothing. I like blissful silence.

Can’t bear incessant chatters

Mine are music as well. My favourite band are called Magazine but very few people who weren't into post-punk have heard of them. I could talk about The Stranglers all day too though.

ScreamingValenta · 20/11/2018 18:13

Any books I have really enjoyed; and conversely, any that have been throw-across-the-room terrible.
