Have you ever gone off a celebrity because of something they've done?

I used to really like Ewan McGregor until he had an affair.

Same with Robson Green in the 90s.

I loved Michael Moriarty (still do) but he's become a huge loony and an old soak.

Liked Ant McPartlin before the drink driving and infidelity.

Have you ever liked a celeb and then gone off them because of something they've said or done? Does it just prove that celebs are human like the rest of us?

I loved Vernon Kay until he humiliated Tess with the whole sexting scandal

filthymcnasty · 18/11/2018 17:25

I don't think Ant was unfaithful though?

NotUmbongoUnchained · 18/11/2018 17:26

Kevin spacey for obvious reasons.

inepon · 18/11/2018 17:26

Tom Hiddleston because of the whole Taylor Swift stunt thing. It was sooooo cringeworthy.

GogoGobo · 18/11/2018 17:27

I used to really like Phil Spencer (Location Location Location) until I realised he hunted animals.
Also went completely off David Beckham when he used a technicality to get out of his speeding ticket

YoungBritishPissArtist · 18/11/2018 17:28

I'm sure many nice celebs have done dodgy stuff but have good PR.

LuckyDiamond · 18/11/2018 17:28

Used to think Jason Manford was alright.

He’s not alright, he’s an unfunny misogynist who jumps on the bandwagons of other people’s suffering to get pats on the back/publicly.

He’s a odious little sexting creep.

LuckyDiamond · 18/11/2018 17:28

Excuse typos

PanamaPattie · 18/11/2018 17:30

Michelle Keegan. When she "live blogged" her smear test in a pathetic attempt to highlight the alleged low uptake. To me, it came across as a shallow shameless self promotion.

mytieisascarf · 18/11/2018 17:34

Lady Gaga was a superior arse to Jodie Whittaker on The GN Show. Put me right off her.

HeronLanyon · 18/11/2018 17:34

William Sitwell (not really celebrity in league of some above) over his awful comments about killing vegans. Didn’t really like him much before but that clinched it.

BitchyHen · 18/11/2018 17:35

Yeah - Jonny Depp. I used to have posters of him on my bedroom wall when I was a teenager, now he just turns my stomach.

mytieisascarf · 18/11/2018 17:35

Also grew up LOVING Rolph Harris (like he was my gramps)....obviously not any more!!!

HeronLanyon · 18/11/2018 17:36

Catherine Deneuve whose comments about ‘me too’ movement were a shock from someone who had always seemed savvy and feminist.

beachcomber243 · 18/11/2018 17:37

I've gone right off George Harrison after an incident related in a recent book by Ginger Bakers daughter.
I know he isn't here any more but I used to love him.

When I saw your title, Robson Green was the first person I thought off. More recently Ronan Keating for the same reason.

Jimmy Saville, obviously.

loveandstuffing · 18/11/2018 17:40

I used to be a huge fan of a married American boybander... until he hit on me!

ChodeofChodeHall · 18/11/2018 17:40

I had a massive crush on Idris Elba until I saw a sexist comment he had made... Cured!

PersonalClown · 18/11/2018 17:40

Another with the Tom Hiddleston/Taylor Swift thing.
I don't know if its the rumours of the overlap from Calvin Harris to TH or the whole manufactured vibe I got from it.

ChodeofChodeHall · 18/11/2018 17:41

Jimmy Saville, obviously.

Did anyone ever actually like Jimmy Savior, though? He always seemed 'off' to me, even when I was 7.

JenBarber · 18/11/2018 17:42

Loved Ozzy Osbourne until that cringeworthy reality show came out.

Quite liked that bearded, west country guy. Justin something until he assaulted his girlfriend. Made me look at Alan Carr slightly differently for being his mate too.

Like Kate Hudson (Almost Famous is one of my favourites) until she said C-Sections were 'lazy'. (Not had one, so no experience, but they look pretty hardcore).

Fuckimdoingaphd · 18/11/2018 17:43

Danny Dyer

JenBarber · 18/11/2018 17:45

And, yes, Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris both had dodgy vibes about them.

Remember when he'd do drawings on kid's TV and do that weird panting thing? Sinister.

EastMidsGPs · 18/11/2018 17:46

Was never particularly impressed by but tolerated Jonathan Ross on the radio, in that I used to have him on in in the background when I did the ironing. This was well before the Russell Brand incident.
One time I am half listening when he starts to joke with his sound man about 'top shelf' magazines. Not a passing comment he went on and on. I became incensed and kept thinking how awful it was. So, I wrote a complaint into the BBC. The reply I got back basically said up yours JR was an award winning presenter and you obviously do not have a sense of humour.

Never listened again and was in no way surprised at his later error of judgement.
