Got chest pain feels like someone's kicked me in the breastbone. Hurts to move, hurts to breathe more than shallow.

In queue for speaking to reception, already been told might not be any appointments left. They will see me with this won't they?

Call 111 or relevant local number. They should be able to advise better.

Folf · 16/11/2018 09:49

Yes Harriet. I even asked if there even really no one who could see me. She said no, they're too busy.

Go to A + E now

Go back in and say I'm experiencing severe chest pain can someone help me it's an emergency

LoniceraJaponica · 16/11/2018 09:51

Did you tell them why you were there?

Folf · 16/11/2018 09:53

I can't go back in and make a scene. I just want to sleep tbh. I don't feel well at all.

OP posts:
LIZS · 16/11/2018 09:54

Tell the, you ate having chest pains, they will probably call an ambulance.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 16/11/2018 09:55

Oh god is this going to be one of those threads were lots of people get overinvested and ‘save’ OP’s life by collectively persuading her to go to a&e.

Folf · 16/11/2018 09:55

Loni, yes. Chest pain, feels like I've been kicked in the sternum, hurting me to breath, feel weak/Not well at all.

Told to come back at 3

OP posts:
ADastardlyThing · 16/11/2018 09:55

I wouldn't go to a and e if you're at the docs now and that's the only symptom you have, you're best insisting, politely bit firmly, they see you urgently, if it is a hospital job the doc can refer you immediately to the right dept rather than hours waiting at a and e. Docs always say they can't fit people in but magic appointments up if you stand your ground.

Ask to speak to the practice manager and explain.

Folf · 16/11/2018 09:56

It's not about persuading me Harriet, but thanks.

NicoAndTheNiners · 16/11/2018 09:56

You must go to hospital. The GP will send you there anyway and you will have wasted 5 hours.

Rachelover40 · 16/11/2018 09:57

It sounds like you've been injured in the ribs or muscles around ribs, bruising and strained. We can injure ourselves sometimes without even realising it.

You have a sleep and go back at 3pm. Flowers

HarrietKettleWasHere · 16/11/2018 09:57

I’m just confused about what you want out of the thread, when rather than take advice you want to shuffle off home. If that’s what you wanted to do, why post?

Folf · 16/11/2018 09:57

Going to call 111 and see what they say

OP posts:
IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 16/11/2018 09:57

Please go to a & e

Petalflowers · 16/11/2018 09:57

Go to a and e. They will see you.

ADastardlyThing · 16/11/2018 09:58

Get yourself back in and tell them you feel you need to go to a and e but probably can't even get there you feel that bad. I can't imagine any docs would send someone away in that instance.

newname100 · 16/11/2018 09:59

Sorry but if you are in severe pain and they wont see you call emergencey services and tell them you are on your own with severe chest pain - they will send help.

Notquiterichenough · 16/11/2018 10:01

I think it depends, although I'm not a doctor. Out of the blue chest pain, no idea of cause? Or chest infection type chest pain?

cadburysflake · 16/11/2018 10:01

I have chest pains, light bulb I know I’ll post on mumsnet for help. If you are feeling that unwell you go to a+e who will triage you quickly if they suspect a heart attack, if you don’t feel that unwell you go back to the docs at 3pm. Problem solved.

Nousernameforme · 16/11/2018 10:01

just go straight to a&e even if you have to wait there at least you are in the right place should anything untoward happen

BlossomCat · 16/11/2018 10:01

Go to a and e. Now.
Even if they are in special measures, you'll be prioritised and seen.
Way before three pm.
In the kindest possible way, I am ordering you to go. Now.

SinisterClownWatchingYou · 16/11/2018 10:02

The GP is likely to send you to A+E anyway. I'd just go!

Worieddd · 16/11/2018 10:02

For goodness sake OP you have chest pain and need to be seen. Get a grip of yourself and march up to reception and ask to see a GP. You are being ridiculous.
