He shares more than his surname with her, Cool. Grin

NeverTrustASmilingCat · 18/11/2018 12:55

Just the 'evolution' one now. I'd never heard of the sun one or the boat one.

Clawdy · 18/11/2018 13:00

And the author is Irish, brother to a very troubled woman singer.

Hallelujah - thank you @CoolCarrie and others: 20/20 now

BedHair · 18/11/2018 13:03

Re the evolution clue, think of the two-word Latin term for the scientific classification that designates modern human beings -- as distinct from extinct previous versions on the evolutionary track.

publishGoodbooks · 18/11/2018 13:28

I’ve got everything but the danger signs. The clues aren’t really helping.

BedHair · 18/11/2018 13:34

The danger signs is a poor clue because the second word of the title just isn’t a synonym for meeting place. I stared at it for ages, thinking that can’t be right, and was lightly outraged when it was correct.

The second word in the book/film title is another word for ‘relationships’, but which can also mean ‘connections’ or the binding agent in a sauce.

publishGoodbooks · 18/11/2018 13:40

Thanks! Got it after googling. Didn’t know the book.
Would never have finished without this thread.

CoolCarrie · 18/11/2018 15:52

I didn’t know he was her brother, BedHair , that’s interesting!

BestIsWest · 18/11/2018 15:55

Got them all apart from the blimp and one other for whicH I can’t even find the clue

BestIsWest · 18/11/2018 16:00

Got them all now

kikashi · 23/11/2018 14:48

Best magnify the blimp. It says Vist the Bold Americas. Think about what the Americas was called in the sixteenth century.

There is a name in the sand

lancashirebornandbred · 25/11/2018 16:24

Could somebody help me with the dust one please. I assumed it was a handful of dust, but it won’t accept that as an answer. Am struggling to think of another book with dust in the title.

kikashi · 25/11/2018 16:48

Yes, I thought that too but it's simpler than that. What is it a book of?
Or try Philip Pullmans new trilogy

lancashirebornandbred · 27/11/2018 08:03

Thanks Kikashi, all done now.

anne1483 · 30/11/2018 17:00

The Kingston Hotel one is a Daphne Du Maurier novel. Stuck on the signpost, the boat and the urn. Any clues?

t1mum3 · 12/12/2018 14:28

Am I the only one struggling with the sleeping carol santa hat person? I've got all the others now

PawneeParksDept · 12/12/2018 15:53

@t1mum3

Literally say what you see

anne1483 · 12/12/2018 19:09

Look at her name.

OneStepMoreFun · 22/12/2018 16:57

Is anyone still around? I can't get the origin of species one. It's not that so what is it? And I can't get the bold American either.
Any clues?

OneStepMoreFun · 22/12/2018 17:06

I've got origin of species now but not the damn American. I've tried The Brave Pilgrim/fearless colonial etc. Is this on the right track (guessing)

PawneeParksDept · 22/12/2018 17:23

Ok

You've got one of the words

It's not pilgrim and it's what non Americans called America pre 1776 besides America

Hope that helps !

anne1483 · 22/12/2018 21:17

Okay. The one you're stuck on is a quote from Miranda in The Tempest.

OneStepMoreFun · 22/12/2018 23:10

Wow. I'd never have got that without your help. Thank you!
