I was really pleased to have got the vineyard one immediately, the book was totally and utterly obvious.

Much to my disgust I realised that the creators of the puzzle had got the answer wrong and it wasn't Steinbeck's classic novel after all Angry

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 16/11/2018 07:52

What grows in a vineyard? Another word for extreme anger (although the word isn't in our dictionary 🤔)
It's a 4 word answer

KnockMeDown · 16/11/2018 08:47

What do you mean, Brizzle? Are you sure you aren't just missing the first word, which was my initial mistake with that one?

Impossiblegirl

This is a non- fiction book with a five word title. It was written by a Dr. Think of another word for pain.

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 16/11/2018 09:14

Try it again brizzle, you may have missed a word.

SmilingatStrangers · 16/11/2018 09:24

I only have the fires one left to go. It is driving me mad!

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 16/11/2018 09:33

smiling, The fires are literally a case of say what you see. Are the fires big or small and where are they in the full picture?

SmilingatStrangers · 16/11/2018 09:49

Thank you Einstein! I can go and enjoy my day now!

Clawdy · 16/11/2018 09:57

It definitely is the Steinbeck novel. If you miss out "the" in the answers they mark it as wrong. I did that with the Gilead one.

PandaG · 16/11/2018 10:06

I have 19/20 thanks to a few clues here. I am certain I have the newspaper right - name of person who is absolutely ok, really popular over the last year or so, but it keeps telling me it is wrong. Aaagh!

NoSquirrels · 16/11/2018 10:11

Got them all! Huzzah.

But, the boat stumped me for ages and this clue led me astray:

The boat one is probably the most obscure book of the lot. His more famous novel goes into the jungles of Africa....

That's a different author with a pretty similar name who wrote the famous book about the jungles of Africa. In case anyone else is similarly scratching their heads!

NoSquirrels · 16/11/2018 10:12

name of person who is absolutely ok

They are not "absolutely" OK - does that help at all?

PandaG · 16/11/2018 10:17

Thanks @NoSquirrels. Turns out I had the 'absolutely' correct, but an alternate spelling of the first name! All done. Phew!

PlateOfBiscuits · 16/11/2018 10:33

The fact that the gilead sign is red was helpful. What main character in a book wears red?

PlateOfBiscuits · 16/11/2018 10:43

Cannot get the boat!!

exexpat · 16/11/2018 11:22

I had never heard of the boat one either - eventually got it after typing in lots of variations on what I could see/how you could describe the picture. Likewise the diving woman (recent book by an author I am not interested in), and the green book (ditto).

exexpat · 16/11/2018 11:24

pandaG - you may have to double-check your adjective and spellings, and also that auto-correct has not mucked up your answer for you (it tried to for me).

TezMC · 16/11/2018 11:26

I've got 19 but cannot find the signpost one. Any extra clues please. Many thanks!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/11/2018 11:30

All the signs indicate a lack of safety - the area is ...........

Ignore the word 'place' in 'meeting place', and look for another word for a meeting of a romantic nature.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 16/11/2018 11:32

I’m so close! Stuck on the boat, the fires and the woman in the Christmas jumper.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/11/2018 11:37

For the woman - say what you see - the festival and the person.

I got the fires one by looking at the size and looking on Amazon with two words - not Tiny Fires, but similar.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 16/11/2018 11:55

Thanks SDTG got both of those now! Just stumped by the boat..!

NoSquirrels · 16/11/2018 12:19

The boat: you've got the symbol, you've got the body of water. The symbol is not ON the body of water but it is OF the body of water. Does that help at all? It's not terrifically well known, I wouldn't say.

MadisonAvenue · 16/11/2018 12:23

Thanks for the clues, but that damn boat! Still can’t get it Angry

MadisonAvenue · 16/11/2018 12:28

Tried Amazon again by putting in two words (the body of water and the symbol) and first result was it! I’ve never heard of it!

All done!
