Help!!

The Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner [IF250UKT] Pet Hair, Twin Battery, Navy is on sale today £200 cheaper than normal. I need to decide if I should get one.

Do you have one? Is it any good on hard floors?

Sorry wise mumsneters I'm just a bit ahh as to whether to get one or not. TIA

I have a corded one and it shits all over the dyson. Insane suction and I actually enjoy using it

DartmoorDoughnut · 14/11/2018 13:11

Op where’s it on sale please?!

GVmama · 14/11/2018 13:17

I used a friends a few weeks ago to clean the carpets after toddler group and it was amazing!

I have a cordless Dyson that I'm pretty happy with but would swap in an instant for the Shark. Can't justify having both though Sad

DartmoorDoughnut It's on sale today only on Amazon. It's also on sale on the shark website but I'm not sure for how long.

What's the normal cost?!

abstardust · 14/11/2018 13:32

I have one and it's amazing. I have a dog that malts like anything and it picks it up so well. Also shocked how much it picks up off the carpet that I really thought was clean.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 14/11/2018 13:32

I posted a thread the other day as I'd like to purchase a Shark to replace my rubbish vacuum. I was on the verge of purcahsing corded (the cord doesn't bother me if the suction is as good as they say) but some reviews said it made hideous tracks on their hardwood floors! Shock

I couldn't get any verification so held off buying the corded upright on an amazing deal in favour of doing more research.

I'm wondering if a Shark cordless stick vacuum would be better on the wooden floors. I've not intention of gouging them but I don't want to hoover gingerly!

Sorry to crash your thread OP!

I bought one 3 weeks ago. It's amazing. My best vacuum purchase ever. I've had Dyson and miele over the last 15 years.

The shark is in a whole new league!

I bought the nv801uk for £200 (with a £20 discount). It's on Amazon for £169 if you don't need cordless.

Yes it's very good on hard floors too. It is definitely amazing on the carpets! They look like they've been professionally cleaned each time I vacuum!

ThisMustBeMyDream · 14/11/2018 13:38

I have wooden floor (laminate) and hard tiles. No tracks whatsoever here.

Hidingtonothing · 14/11/2018 13:44

I've said it before on here but I think I actually love mine more than DH Blush

DartmoorDoughnut · 14/11/2018 13:49

Thank you!

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 14/11/2018 13:53

All the models have brilliant reviews, it's so hard to choose! I can't decide if I want upright or stick, corded or cordless?! Grin

Pref. wanted to spend under £200 but that's negotiable.

Like OP it's specifically the hard floor issue that's making me anxious!

ThisMustBeMyDream thank you for your feedback, that's reassuring Smile

Anyone with solid wood floors and a Shark care to weigh in?

Plannergirl9 · 14/11/2018 13:54

flumpybear it is £429 which has been putting me off.

I'm off to currys for a wee shot at the shark. I have arthritis so it can't be too heavy.

it shits all over the dyson

This ^^

ThisMustBeMyDream · 14/11/2018 14:01

It is light, it also practically runs forward on the floor itself without pushing! But because it's such good suction, it does require effort to pull it back. My previous Hoover was a dc41 animal. It is still easier than that to pull though.

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 14/11/2018 14:01

I have a shark corded and mostly wooden floors downstairs and it is actually more gentle on them than any other vacuum I’ve had. It’s the extra roller I think that does it. It is so soft. It’s so easy to clean as well.
I am very much in love with my shark lift away and a friend vacuumed for me while we were on holiday and she’s I love now too.

It is quite a bit heavier than other vacuums don’t know how he cordless compares but it actually doesn’t feel like it while you are using it as it kind of pulls itself along as well so actually far easier for me to use than a lighter one. I am a tiny bit evangelical about it Blush

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 14/11/2018 14:03

Oh and I went for the corded over the cordless because the cord is so long that I can do all my downstairs from the hall socket my dyson didn’t so I didn’t have the hassle of it running out of charge or anything. I use the lift away part on the stairs and it reaches in all the ways that would have swung me to the cordless.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 14/11/2018 14:08

cordless owners, does it block up a lot? some of the reviews are putting me off a bit but since my bosh athlet packed up I really want a new cordless and this seems a good deal.... undecided.

flumpybear · 14/11/2018 16:15

I've bought one!! 😱😱😱

Osirus · 14/11/2018 17:13

I’ve seen the Shark in action but I prefer my Dyson (corded). The Shark does have little headlights though!

Plannergirl9 · 14/11/2018 17:28

Well I've done it. I had a shot in Curry's where the same vacuum is £299. Terrible customer service.

Now I need to tell DH Blush

Corded or cordlesss..which shoukd i go for??

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 14/11/2018 18:58

@LooksBetterWithAFilter thank you for that review! Can I ask what model number you have?

I keep changing my mind btwn a corded liftaway and cordless/corded stick. Thanks!

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 14/11/2018 20:31

Gareth I have this one www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078H7KQPW/ref=asc_df_B078H7KQPW56864537/?hvlocphy=1007296&linkCode=df0&hvptwo&psc=1&hvnetw=g&hvadid=256187788999&creative=22110&hvpone&hvlocint&creativeASIN=B078H7KQPW&th=1&hvpos=1o1&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl&hvqmt&tag=mumsnetforum-21&hvtargid=pla-420426785496&hvrand=8592387234130763898

I am really hard on vacuum cleaners I don’t know what I do to them but the shark has been fantastic. Have a Dalmatian and a black cat so for pet fur we are screwed either way. Have to be truthful I felt like my stair carpet smelled of dog a bit but even that has improved because the suction is so good it lifts up so much more hair than my dyson did.

EradicatetheDoubt · 14/11/2018 20:33

I have the lift away. I truly love it.
