Yesterday morning I started with a headache. It came on suddenly and was severe that I was clammy and had sweat running down my forehead until I vomited. I thought it was a bug or something.

The headache was much improved on laying down. I took paracetamol with little effect and felt pretty rubbish all day

This morning I woke feeling ok. However as soon as I stood up out of bed my head was pounding. I felt clamming and vomited. Quickly laying down the headache is again much improved. I also now have pain in my back between my shoulder blades.

I phoned the gp and they have no appointments for today unless is urgent.

I'm unsure what to do? I can get out of bed without my head pounding so much

Thanks for reading

I think this is urgent, call back. (Nurse)

Coldhandscoldheart · 13/11/2018 08:30

Agree with pp ask for an urgent appt. have you anyone to go with you?

WeAreEternal · 13/11/2018 08:31

I’m not going to attempt to diagnose you over the internet, but you need to see the GP, tell them it’s urgent and you need an appointment today.

Yes, urgent definitely. You need to see someone today.

Mrspimplepopper · 13/11/2018 08:32

Yes my husband is working from home. He's just taken the 2 D.C. to school cos I can't get up. I'll ring back the gp now

Call them straight back and get an urgent appointment.

EricTheGuineaPig · 13/11/2018 08:33

If you can't speak to a gp try 111. You need someone to give you some advice quite quickly I think op.

Yvbmioasp · 13/11/2018 08:34

She wasn’t asking you to.

Let us know how you get on OP.

cathyandclare · 13/11/2018 08:35

If they're difficult, I would have been happy to see someone in A and E with these symptoms. However, if your GP could see you and refer you into the right team in hospital (if necessary) there may be less time wasting and discomfort for you.

Mrspimplepopper · 13/11/2018 08:36

Thanks everyone I've phoned gp back. Explained my symptoms. She's gonna speak to the doctor and call me back within an hour to try fit me into this morning's sugary.

I'm scared I can't manage to get up. Dh with be home in 20 mins. I should try and get dressed

OP posts:
peridito · 13/11/2018 08:42

No don't try anything .Wait for DH to do anything .If you're off to the surgery let DH help you into a coat over your nightclothes and get footwear on to you .Keep still .

Mrspimplepopper · 13/11/2018 08:51

Gp receptionist just phoned back and gp can't see me. Shit.

Go to A & E, now.

Once you’re sorted ask for an appointment with the practice manager and complain.

drinthehouse · 13/11/2018 09:00

A&E consultant here. You need to go to A&E NOW and you need a CT scan of your head immediately. Stop fanning around with you GP and get to A&E, as in a proper A&E, not a walk in centre or a minor injuries unit.

AnnaMagnani · 13/11/2018 09:06

A+E now. A proper one for a CT scan. Don't wait, leave now.

peridito · 13/11/2018 09:12

I agree ,go to A&E now .

Just go ,don't think about it .

AnyFucker · 13/11/2018 09:12

.

nosleepforme · 13/11/2018 09:12

Sounds unusual, please follow advice and go to a&e. Hopefully they will prioritise you over minor cases waiting if you explain clearly what you are experiencing

ileclerc · 13/11/2018 09:14

A and e. It baffles me how people have symptoms like this and think they're not urgent.

Hope you are ok.

Hezz · 13/11/2018 09:15

Oh that's an emergency. Go to A&E, if your DH can't take you call an ambulance

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/11/2018 09:17

Don't have a go at the op. It's impossible to make judgments on yourself especially when feeling so crap.

I hope you manage to get to a&e OK.

Rachie1986 · 13/11/2018 09:23

Hope everything is ok OP. You are obviously feeling really unwell, you need advice x

Feelings · 13/11/2018 09:25

That's really rubbish of your GP! Ring 111 or go to A&E.

Hogtini · 13/11/2018 09:26

Please take drinthehouse's advice and get seen OP. Good luck

Oddsocksandmeatballs · 13/11/2018 09:26

Another saying A&E now, this is exactly what A&E is for.
