Yesterday morning I started with a headache. It came on suddenly and was severe that I was clammy and had sweat running down my forehead until I vomited. I thought it was a bug or something.

The headache was much improved on laying down. I took paracetamol with little effect and felt pretty rubbish all day

This morning I woke feeling ok. However as soon as I stood up out of bed my head was pounding. I felt clamming and vomited. Quickly laying down the headache is again much improved. I also now have pain in my back between my shoulder blades.

I phoned the gp and they have no appointments for today unless is urgent.

I'm unsure what to do? I can get out of bed without my head pounding so much

Thanks for reading

My ex husband woke up exactly the same last Saturday morning, he has multiple sclerosis & my DS called for an ambulance, he was admitted to hospital with suspected meningitis & had tests, they had to transfer him to another hospital to do a lumbar puncture as they couldn't do an ordinary one due to the shape of his spine & needed an x-ray guided one. They admitted him to the infections diseases unit & put him on antibiotics. On Monday they got results from the blood & urine cultures that diagnosed a very resistant uti & put him on IV antibiotics, he has a catheter through his stomach to empty his bladder due to his MS & gets infections easily. A Consultant has been to see him tonight who has looked at all the results & thinks he has had an MS attack due to the infection. Hopefully he will be home by the end of the week . I hope you are feeling better & are home soon.

I'm doing better than I was but I'm looking at a 6 week to 6 month recovery period and I'm only 2 weeks in so still feeling rather delicate.

Being at home will make it harder but you must rest. It's so difficult feeling out of control, I can certainly empathise with that, but focus more on the things you can control that will aid your recovery. Set small goals for the day, have a bath, cook lunch, get dressed (or better still put on fresh PJs). Small and achievable and you'll be back on your feet soon.
