Greggs has flipped its logo on one of its stores so you can see the logo in the Fenwicks window display opposite

Love this

AnyFucker · 09/11/2018 22:54

I don't get it

Shirleyphallus · 09/11/2018 22:55

PortiaCastis · 09/11/2018 22:58

I don't get it either

NewYoiker · 09/11/2018 23:02

That's amazing!

NancyDonahue · 09/11/2018 23:02

Genius!

It's reversed so it shows the right way round in Fenwicks window display opposite. You can see a pic in the link.

AutoFilled · 09/11/2018 23:03

Love this. So clever to have their logo the right way round on the display opposite. And it also creates a buzz around the shop.all for the cost of flipping the wign. I bet it’s much cheaper than any ad campaign.

nameforthethread · 09/11/2018 23:03

so when customers glance at the shiny Fenwicks window they see Greggs.

MemoriesOfAnotherFuture · 09/11/2018 23:06

I have said for the last couple of years that when people upload photos of their DC in front of Febwicks Christmas window, they all have the Greggs sign backwards across the top, so I was amused to hear they’d done this this year.

enjoyingscience · 09/11/2018 23:06

For those who don’t get it, fenwicks window display is a massive Newcastle tradition - it’s turned into a huge festive story, with puppets and moving parts etc. It’s (I’m biased) totally lovely and amazing, and people queue up to parade past it with the kids. Flipping the logo so it’s thenright way round in the window means that because everyone is looking that way, they get their name in for free!

Growingboys · 09/11/2018 23:08

Clever

PortiaCastis · 09/11/2018 23:10

We dont have Fenwick's or Greggs here

Getonthatbroomandfly · 09/11/2018 23:11

That's a-shame @PortiaCastis, they're both fabulous!

AnyFucker · 09/11/2018 23:26

A bit underwhelmed here < shrug >

A580Hojas · 10/11/2018 04:38

[how can anyone not "get it"?]

MrWolfknowsthetime · 10/11/2018 04:53

Yep, that is clever. Like that Grin

TheMythicalChicken · 10/11/2018 05:19

Unicyclethief · 10/11/2018 05:22

I don't get it 😂😂 fucking hell!

WantItToEnd · 10/11/2018 05:51

Very cheeky of them I like it 👍

kenandbarbie · 10/11/2018 06:36

I bet fenwicks are fuming!

IggyAce · 10/11/2018 06:41

Love it, well played Greggs.

DaysLikeThis1 · 10/11/2018 06:48

My first chuckle of the day, love it. The people at Greggs seem so ... human, somehow.

JanetLovesJason · 10/11/2018 06:54

Ah, that’ll be in the Toon.

I used to like going to Fenwidks, then Markies then down to that Italian Cafe at the Art cinema. They did get sandwiches and lovely espresso martinis.
