Weird body quirks.

Do you have any?

I get stomach cramps/aches if my feet get cold.
Always have to wear fluffy socks (even in summer.)

If I move my head into a certain position or move it too quickly I get a warm (?) sensation in the back of my skull, like something has popped. Really odd.

I feel as if I'm going to throw up before I sneeze. Every single time.

I'm sure there are more too but these are the ones that have come up in conversation before now and friends/family have looked at me like

Please reassure me that I'm not a freak!

If I lean to the left my throat makes a constant gurgling sound. Lean to the right, nothing.

Spam88 · 08/11/2018 20:40

I can't bend my big toes. I think this is normal, but everyone else (with their bendy toes) disagrees with me.

0121DoOne · 08/11/2018 20:50

@CrookedMe like a frog?

@Spam88 I can stick my big toes up (like a toe thumbs up) but I can't bend them down.

My big toe on my right foot makes a loud click repeatedly. It's great for winding dh up.
I sneeze if I pull a certain hair on my temple or if I pretend to cough.
My midwife taught me this. If you need to give a sample of wee but have recently peed there's an area just above your arse crack that if you scratch makes you squeeze out a little bit more. Grin

wannabebetter · 08/11/2018 20:54

If I eat too much too quickly I get a pain in my left shoulder. The only solution is to gyrate my arm about vigorously, at which point I burp & pain immediately goes -?wtf is that all about? Trapped wind? In my fucking shoulder???

SneakyGremlins · 08/11/2018 20:56

I have three nipples Grin

Spam88 · 08/11/2018 20:56

wannabe when my mum gets trapped wind she gets my dad to rub her shoulder and it makes her burp endlessly. Knocks me sick.

wannabebetter · 08/11/2018 20:56

Cheddar I have the colicky big toe thing too -both feet!!!

wannabebetter · 08/11/2018 20:57

CLICKY not colicky ffs...

SneakyGremlins · 08/11/2018 20:58

Imagining a colicky toe Grin

EggysMom · 08/11/2018 20:59

My toes don't bend either. I have short fat nonbendy toes.

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 08/11/2018 21:00

I get the warm popping neck thing too. So weird.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 08/11/2018 21:00

My husband has some sort of weird vibration setting.

0121DoOne · 08/11/2018 21:02

@CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese who knew body quirks could be useful!!

@wannabebetter ok, you win so far!

@SneakyGremlins please tell me it's called a nubbin...

Also imagining a colicky toe 😁

@NotUmbongoUnchained is that a stealth boast?

I get this too...it's really weird and painful but slowly subsides. It feels like something has snapped in my head and it also makes my tongue go temporarily numb Confused

Shirleyphallus · 08/11/2018 21:03

Hope the poster who found a tooth embedded in her skull comes on soon

Bunnyhop1502 · 08/11/2018 21:03

My teeth ache if I’m desperate for a wee...

ShesABelter · 08/11/2018 21:04

If I tickle the bend of my arm on the other side of my elbow on my right arm it makes my right ear tickle inside it.

Doesn't happen with my left arm and no one I have ever asked experiences this 😂

SneakyGremlins · 08/11/2018 21:05

It's a nipple but mini if that counts Grin it has hairs growing around it like the other two!

0121DoOne · 08/11/2018 21:06

@formerbabe it renders me useless for a few seconds because it feels so strange. Like warm brain freeze.
Glad I'm not the only one!

On the brain freeze note... I can bite ice cream with my front teeth.
I don't think that's weird but my DDad looks at me like I've taken to biting the heads off baby chicks.

Each year in the summer I shed my little toe nails and there are perfectly formed new ones underneath.

When I was little this yearly occurrence also included a foot peel like I had used footner. All of a sudden huge pieces of skin would peel away around the same time I lost the little toe nails. Now it's just the nails.

Curlygirly · 08/11/2018 21:07

@wannabebetter I also get trapped wind in my left shoulder. It's so strange!!!!

DragonMamma · 08/11/2018 21:07

My uterus does this odd crampy thing literally the moment I come on. It’s so distinctive and it wakes me up at night. I’ve never yet been surprised by a period nor have a ruined a pair of knickers as a result. I go to the toilet and it’s there, on the first wipe.

ShesABelter · 08/11/2018 21:07

Yeah cheddar I knew about the tickling just above your bum crack in your lower back. We use to all do it in our youth when we'd taken ecstasy and needed to pee but it wouldn't come out. It relaxed your bladder enough to go. This was a LONG time ago when young with no responsibilities.
