80s toys I wish I could buy new for my kids!!

My thoughts are turning to Christmas presents for my two five year old girls and as I look through the offerings of slime-pooing unicorns I wish they still made the 80s toys of my five year old dreams ....

Sweet Secrets
Pound Puppies

My girls would love them...someone would make a mint if they brought them all back!

Can't you find them on ebay? There's masses of sweet secrets stuff and pound puppies (and I'd never heard of the others but Ive just looked and there are also loads of them on ebay)

Yes but new they are £££ and the used ones look a bit passed their best.

Does anyone remember what the dolls were called where their hair grew when you put their arm up??

Well they're second hand on ebay but things like the keypers are plastic so look pretty much as they would have done. Plus your DDs are five and so they would never know the difference.

Apologies if this thread is just supposed to be about reminiscing but you could save yourself money, buy the things you desire and help save the planet a little by buying the second hand stuff.

I’ve still got an attic full of keypers, rainbow brite dolls, she-ra toys, sweet secrets and polly pockets.

Original polly pockets. The ones they’ve brought out this year are better but not quite the same!

Forgot my little ponies - still have the original castle, nursery, dances school and stable, as well as most of my ponies (Dd and ds put the sea ponies in the bath and they went a bit manky 😩)

Yes and one year i think they had a crystle thing in the soul or om the front cant remeber wich every girl in my class had to have them

Also the new versions of old ball games are crap, bought dd Operation and it’s so flimsy it’s virtually impossible to play- it used to keep me occupied for hours.

I so wanted the clarks’ key shoes to the degree I squeezed my feet into a smaller size to get them when I was about 9 and then had to admit two days later I couldn’t wear them...... 😬

The board game Coppit! My parents have it & we play it every time we go round there, it is the DC's absolute favourite (I know it's older than 80s, but it was a staple of my childhood). Also, the card game Whot.

I would buy for my DS1 but he wouldn't be interested so I would duly play with it so it didn't go to waste.

I found a keyper in a charity shop a couple of months ago and I was so excited! I always wanted one as a kid and never got one and now I, I mean dd4, has one

All the old Fischer Price toys. The Jack in the Box, Petrol Pump, Doctors set with stethoscope that sounded like a beating heart! Garage. The Ghostbusters toys including fire station and car. Not to mention He-Man and Skeletor and their abodes.

I have a few of the old Fisher Price toys for my DCs, again ebay. DD loves the record player.

A Beauty and the Beast talking mirror. Would love to get one for my now grown-up daughter but they appear to be collectable these days and can sell for hundreds really wish I hadn't chucked out the old one

I just buy them second hand on eBay, and explain to Dd that they are vintage. She loves having toys that I had when I was little. This year she is getting a Charmkins dollhouse. It takes a little organisation in advance, to find, and to get one that doesn’t cost silly money, but it is worth it.

I loved mine deeply but one of my brothers (number 2, moderately evil) painted it yellow with the double yellow line paint.
