My thoughts are turning to Christmas presents for my two five year old girls and as I look through the offerings of slime-pooing unicorns I wish they still made the 80s toys of my five year old dreams ....
Keypers
Brush a loves
Sweet Secrets
Pound Puppies

My girls would love them...someone would make a mint if they brought them all back!

Weebles!

Whatthefunk · 08/11/2018 11:18

Not 80's, but 70's, I had a girls world, with chestnut hair. Also a little pink, plastic oven, that baked cakes. You poured water into the cake mix, then put it into the oven, pressed a button, and a little while later, a cake appeared.... There was no heat involved, so it must have been some sort of chemical reaction

You can still get Popples! I saw some in a supermarket in France in the summer! They weren't as nice as the old ones, though. Look:

A Speak & Spell! Astonishingly, there doesn't seem to be anything like it on the market these days.

Also the old style Guess Who (not the cheap plastic-y new version)

oldsewandsew · 08/11/2018 14:40

The a la carte kitchen, original polly pockets, the big yellow teapot, and boot. Some of those toys were amazing, and nice, simple toys.

I had an Annie doll and necklace that my youngest dd would love, she just adores Annie, funny thing was i hated that doll!

MamaLovesMango · 08/11/2018 15:26

@Pomtastic there’s a Speak and Spell in the Science Museum Grin

MamaLovesMango · 08/11/2018 15:28

Did anyone else have the Ghost Castle board game? My DD would love that too...

cooblanket · 08/11/2018 15:28

Ghost Castle. I still have the glow in the dark skull somewhere.

cooblanket · 08/11/2018 15:29

KatsutheClockworkOctopus · 08/11/2018 17:07

AristotlesTrousers · 08/11/2018 17:10

I wish I'd kept my Caroline's Home dollshouse and my Major Morgan. Smile

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/11/2018 17:12

Care bears
Sylvanina families
Big Yellow Teapot
Polly in my Pocket
Popples
Were Bears
Some sort of stuffed toy cat which had a tummy full of kittens that could be taken out and played with separately (can't remember what it was called - we struck lucky with this; the number of kittens varied and you did know how many you had until you disembowelled opens up it's velcro-ed tummy. There could be anything between one and five - we got FIVE!!!

PoptartPoptart · 08/11/2018 17:13

Go For Broke board game.
There was also another game (fall down or something like that) where you had to twist wheel cogs to make your counters drop.

neddle · 08/11/2018 17:17

@Poptartpoptart
Downfall

FaithInfinity · 08/11/2018 17:19

@twilightcafe I have my old Sindy townhouse. We got it out the loft last year and gave it to DD (who is 5) for Christmas. She absolutely loves it! Some bits didn’t survive - the dining table fell apart! - but it has the bathroom, kitchen, 4 poster bed and then we have a science lab instead of a dining room Smile

MoonlightMedicine · 08/11/2018 17:21

I wish I could buy my DD Flower Fairies

LoadsaBlusher · 08/11/2018 17:24

I think my DC would love the original He man castle greyskull and figures
They were so cool

IncomingCannonFire · 08/11/2018 17:26

I buy my ds's vintage toys off ebay. They all got some original Fisher price stuff from pil attic. All my stuff got sold for a pittance at car boot.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/11/2018 17:27

Ooh! Yes, Blusher - DS has Greyskull and Snake Mountain.

BUT PLEASE OP - NOT MR FROSTY! IT IS HEARTBREAK IN A BOX!!!!!

LoadsaBlusher · 08/11/2018 17:33

The originals are so expensive on eBay
I pick up vintage fisher price in charity shops sometimes , it’s just total luck if I come across anything though
