Does anyone have any good tips for gaining weight fast?

I need to gain a stone in the next couple of weeks. Long story.

So far i'm thinking milkshake. Soup. Cheese. Buttered toast. But what else can i eat thats fattening?

I also need to excercise to gain stamina but not lose weight.

Peanut butter on toast. Wine. Crisps and dips. Flapjack. "Luxury" ice cream. Pizza.

Snack a lot between meals

ProudThrilledHappy · 06/11/2018 23:28

A lot of high fat foods so butter, pastry, nuts, cheese. Oily foods like houmous.

penisbeakers · 06/11/2018 23:28

Try the gaining shakes weight lifters use.

Singingtherapy · 06/11/2018 23:29

Well yes, I'm sadly rather good at it! I'd say eat your regular meals but increase portion size, particularly the carbs. And fortify the meals as much as you can with healthy fats. Lots of olive oil in sauces etc. Several snacks a day, again healthy and high fat. Toast and peanut butter, cheese and crackers. Plus crisps, cake and chocolate when you fancy.

I'm having a hard time eating without vommitting it back up. Ive lost over a stone and am due a night out next week and cant face going out like this. Ive lost my boobs and bum and my legs can fit a football between them. Snacking between meals is a good idea. Im finding drinking is easier atm than eating anything too hard.

Are the gaining shakes safe for people who arent training to use? Sorry if thats idiotic question.

What about complain? Each shake is around 800 cals if made with whole milk

DangerMouse17 · 06/11/2018 23:39

Complan*

Bloody autocorrect Hmm

"I'm having a hard time eating without vomiting it back up. Ive lost over a stone"

Have you seen your GP about this? It sounds rather worrying.

MarthaArthur · 06/11/2018 23:43

Complan sounds like a good idea. I will get whole milk too. The rubbish thing is dairy gives me acne but one problem at a time.

Are you sick? What's wrong? Vomiting lots and not keeping food down is not normal

EmilyRosiEl · 06/11/2018 23:56

If you have a medical condition that has been investigated then ignore this BUT if not you absolutely need to see a GP to check there's nothing serious going on.

If the above doesn't apply then chocolate and plenty of it!!

MarthaArthur · 06/11/2018 23:57

Its not a medical issue i've just not been very mentally well recently.

But today has made me realise i need to gain weight.

OP posts:
BarMcBarsen · 06/11/2018 23:58

Have you seen your GP OP?

MarthaArthur · 07/11/2018 00:02

I dont need to see the gp this is normal for me . I will get over it if i persevere.

OP posts:
BarMcBarsen · 07/11/2018 00:10

Are you sure op? What mental health thing is making you vomit after eating? What are you persevering at? I'm sure you can think of lots of high calorie foods but if you're being sick that isn't a solution for that. Maybe think about seeing a doctor?

This might be normal for you but it sounds like you're unwell - hope you get better soon

BarMcBarsen · 07/11/2018 00:11

Do you have an eating disorder op?

MarthaArthur · 07/11/2018 00:25

I have ocd so food can be a problem for me. I lost weight as i have been in bed with depression for just over a month. I'm starting to come out of it and not feel suicidal but now i look like utter shit.

OP posts:
MarthaArthur · 07/11/2018 00:31

I assume i can get supliments from boots i will look tomorrow.

OP posts:
BarMcBarsen · 07/11/2018 00:33

Sorry to hear that op but glad you're feeling better.

I assume protein powders and drinks would be healthier than just stuffing chocolate but a doctor/nutritionist would be best to advise

Good luck 💐

PickAChew · 07/11/2018 00:33

You don't need 5o gain weight by extreme means. Just start eating better.

MarthaArthur · 07/11/2018 00:35

Thank you x

Pick, im trying to eat better but its not easy for me at all. I cant eat proper meals so semi healthy snacks are easier.

OP posts:
DangerMouse17 · 07/11/2018 00:40

Good luck with it OP and I think it's great that you're making positive steps to gain and I see you mention exercise, which will help get you some muscle weight too! I suggested the complan as I had a poorly friend who took it for a while. Made a world of difference very quickly. X
