Just watching TV and an advert come on with loads of people in it and I thought there must be loads of people out there who have been in adverts on TV. I haven't! But I knew someone who used to model for catalogues as a child! Have you ever been an extra in an advert? Just being nosy 😁

I haven’t but my dad was one of the people in the big X at the end of the old Halifax adverts

DeadCertain · 04/11/2018 15:26

Was in an Army recruitment ad!

RelentlessSylvia · 04/11/2018 15:44

No but was in the background of a documentary on the rise of STDs. Going quietly about my business, walking down the street and it turns out I was going to feature on a show about Chlamydia! First I knew of it was when I watched the bloody programme.

RelentlessSylvia · 04/11/2018 15:46

And my pal was on the front page of the local paper. They were reporting on a derelict building beside the town hall. Banner headline was WHO WILL RID US OF THIS EYESORE? and my friend was in the shot, the only human, right in the middle of the photo as she walked past the building.

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/11/2018 15:48

No.

AnarchyKitty · 04/11/2018 15:50

Yes. An advert for the lottery. They bused us down to Windsor from Central London, paid us £30 and stuffed us full of free food and drink.

greencatbluecat · 04/11/2018 15:50

No..... but I saw an Activia ad being filmed at Camber Sands and our neighbour's house was used as the set for an ad.

PaintBySticker · 04/11/2018 15:53

No but our old road was in an ancient advert for Mars bars - 1980s housewives throwing open their front doors in joy at the suggestion of keeping them in the fridge.

dancingthroughthedark · 04/11/2018 15:55

Not an advert as such but two of mine were in the picture on the Christmas Card for a large well know Company some years ago

Piggyhoolier · 04/11/2018 15:56

I’ve been in several. Very randomly, not because I’m a professional actress/model/extra or whatever, but just to help a friend or a couple of weird right time right place coincidences.

The amount of makeup required each time to make me look natural was insane.

VanillaSugary · 04/11/2018 15:57

DS was at school with a boy who was in a bread advert. I always thought he was very nice, polite androids inquisitive.

PaintBySticker · 04/11/2018 15:59

Here it is

Piggyhoolier · 04/11/2018 16:01

Actually in 2 ads I wasn’t even an extra, I had speaking parts. One of them I sound like a have a Yorkshire accent which was weird because I’m a Londoner so lord knows who I was channelling that day Grin

Whatthefunk · 04/11/2018 16:07

Not me, but a good friend was in an advert, for Greggs...

Oliversmumsarmy · 04/11/2018 16:11

Dd and ds have been in loads.

For a featured person it is very good money and as an extra it is also not bad and you get to know loads of people. Or dd seems to.

StillMedusa · 04/11/2018 16:22

DH was in an OXO advert many years ago !

ToEarlyForDecorations · 04/11/2018 16:34

I took part in the world's biggest aerobics lesson nearly 30 years ago at a venue in London. It was hosted by Roy Castle.

The year after, I swear I recognised my face in a crowd scene from that day to advertise Boots the chemist.

FoulMouthedMotherFigure · 04/11/2018 16:45

Not me, but my elderly landlady in the early 1980s got roped into an advert for Butterball turkeys - queue of old ladies standing outside a butcher's shop, all twittering with excitement.

The "butcher's shop" was mocked-up from an empty store beside the pub opposite the office I worked in - it took the set decorators two days to turn it into a genuine-looking shop and we were all excited at the prospect of having a proper butcher's so close to our workplace.

Nithead · 04/11/2018 17:11

My sbex still pretends he was in an AA advert when he wasn't ?!

hugoagogo · 04/11/2018 17:15

Dbro was in a potato wedges advert!Grin

Santaisgettingbusy · 04/11/2018 17:17

Not an ad but my face is /was on a tile at a train station years ago! I was about 15!! Had no idea til about ten years later!

QueenOfMyWorld · 04/11/2018 17:19

No but my db was in a dulux one(he's not a sheepdog btw)

EmmaGrundyForPM · 04/11/2018 17:20

No, but when DS was about 10 his best friend was in an advert for Werthers toffees, playing the grandchild of an old man who ate Werthers. It was a speaking part, and he gt very well paid for it. DS was very envious of the money! The child's father was a jobbing actor and was in an advert with Johnny Rotten for some sort of butter, which was surreal (Johnny Rotten of all people being in an advert I mean).

weebarra · 04/11/2018 17:23

No, but a school mum acquaintance has been in a Tesco advert and a friend's brother in a RBS one. They're both professional actors though.

Hunlife · 04/11/2018 17:26

A woman who temped at my work place is in loads of adverts but she is a jobbing actress. DH went to drama school and was in an advert in the mid 90s. He got £600 for it.
