He's everywhere. All over the telly and radio yet he falsely imprisoned someone and was convicted. Seems all kind of wrong to me that Jonathan Ross etc are fawning over him.

Oooh is he on Jonathan Ross?

Doobydoobydooyeh · 03/11/2018 23:19

Yes he's on there right now. I've never been a fan personally.

Chwaraeteg · 03/11/2018 23:20

He what Confused? I've never heard of this.

AtSea1979 · 03/11/2018 23:20

No idea what he did

CoachBombay · 03/11/2018 23:20

I wouldn't say I've forgotten more I never knew...off to Google I go lol

Sparklingbrook · 03/11/2018 23:21

Oh no I missed the interview. Will record it on plus one.

Japanesejazz · 03/11/2018 23:22

I haven’t forgotten

LizzieBennettDarcy · 03/11/2018 23:22

He makes my skin crawl. Stopped watching The Voice when he was on it. It's utterly vile he's being paid for appearances after what he did.

Doobydoobydooyeh · 03/11/2018 23:22

Google Boy George conviction. He imprisoned a male escort a few years ago.

Doobydoobydooyeh · 03/11/2018 23:23

Thanks lizziebennet its made me so cross. The media are such hypocrites.

OP posts:
Chwaraeteg · 03/11/2018 23:27

Oh wow. Just googled that. I can't believe he's still on TV!

CoachBombay · 03/11/2018 23:28

Oh my, so it would appear he was sentenced to 15months in jail for handcuffing a male escort to a wall fixture and then beating him with a chain because George thought the male escort had attempted to hack his computer. How bizzar and odd, but also traumatising for the victim!

Doobydoobydooyeh · 03/11/2018 23:29

Yup exactly it's horrific.

penisbeakers · 03/11/2018 23:31

Yep. He's a piece of shit.

whatsnewchoochoo · 03/11/2018 23:31

I remember and also stopped watching the voice when he was taken on

doubleshotespresso · 03/11/2018 23:32

There was a thread a while ago about this as the BBC did an episode of Who do you think you are on Boy George....

I can't get too worked up about this tbh, he committed a crime and served his time.

There are scores of people I find way more offensive given far more BBC airtime.

Would you like to see everybody who's had a criminal conviction never allowed on tv?

CoachBombay · 03/11/2018 23:32

Well yes horrific! I'm.amazed I didn't know this! I was in my teens when he was convicted but you'd think his return to TV would have brought it up again in the media more recently!

RebelWitchFace · 03/11/2018 23:33

@doubleshotespresso ideally yes. Especially not seen as a super special star/idol, fawn all over them.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/11/2018 23:33

I've just googled it then. I can't believe I didn't know anything about this until now.
15 months. He should have got 15 years.

BatFacedOK · 03/11/2018 23:33

Depends doesn't it? You either believe in the justice system and the rehabilitation of people or you don't

Doobydoobydooyeh · 03/11/2018 23:34

Doubleshotespresso if they have been convicted of physically hurting someone yes I don't want to see them on telly. How must that victim feel? Look at ant mcpartlin. He's been hounded off telly. Possibly rightly but very different attitude from the media.

Doobydoobydooyeh · 03/11/2018 23:35

Does anyone actually believe in the justice system and rehabilitation?? Surely not!

OP posts:
EnidButton · 03/11/2018 23:38

He was mentally ill at the time and off his face on drugs. Doesn't make it right but it's a reason that doesn't apply to him now. He was convicted and has done the time and I believe he's rehabilitated and a different person now.

Like Bat says you either think someone can be rehabilitated and able to start again or you think they become the crime they committed for life. I believe people can change and become better people. It's not black and white.

Doobydoobydooyeh · 03/11/2018 23:39

No it's not black and white. Not at all. But it's a horrific crime it really is and I think to relaunch his career or whatever he's doing all over telly at the moment is despicable. His poor victim will never recover from that ordeal.
