In the way home from in laws and though I would nip in shops only turned the car to soon and crash into a bollard. Had to ring dh to come and rescue me. When he got to me he was wetting himself laughing, always on about me being a crap driver. I’m never going to live this down.

Meh. It’s a rite of passage crashing into a bollard.

Hope you’re okay though Flowers

millkcowmama · 03/11/2018 20:56

Yeah we’re ok I turned the wheel so we were actually stuck in the air and dh had to use his car to pull us off. But I think I has actually done less damage to the car because of this. God I feel like a twit

Style it out hun. Be right Wink

Fairenuff · 03/11/2018 21:13

Rite of passage? I've never crashed into a bollard and neither has anyone I know Confused

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 03/11/2018 21:23

A bollard, that's nowt! At least they are generally small and can be hard to see.

A friend of ours once crashed into a tree. A massive horse chestnut that had been there many years, on a road they parked on maybe 3 or 4 days a week and multiple times each day. Now that was funny. (But I didn't laugh until they'd left the room and were definitely not in earshot.)

millkcowmama · 03/11/2018 21:29

deathymcdeathstarface no suppose it’s not as bad as that dd Squealed So think I had a temporary lapse in concentration

I’m more worried that your H continually puts you down:

Try not to be too upset. Accidents are called that for a reason. As long as you’re all unharmed.

MysteryNameChange · 03/11/2018 21:38

@fairenuff bet you go to all the best parties

Fairenuff · 03/11/2018 21:42

What is that supposed to mean. People who crash are not competent drivers and they are a risk to other drivers and pedestrians. If you think that has a link to what parties you go to you are a fool.

redwineandcrisps · 03/11/2018 21:54

I did this in a monster truck!! We had just had new wheels put on which were much larger and changed the turning circle on the vehicle. Loud music playing out speakers, promo team hanging out windows.... people staring..... large crunch as I hit the bollard and cause £2k worth of damage. It was horrendous! So essentially, don’t feel too bad, it could have been worse?!

HollySwift · 03/11/2018 21:57

Utter shite. Let’s hope when (yes when) you have a minor accident that fall from the moral high ground doesn’t hurt too much...

MysteryNameChange · 03/11/2018 22:00

GrinGrinGrin
I'm imaging you saying that like Mr T. Sensible Mr T.

millkcowmama · 03/11/2018 22:01

jacqueshammer he doesn’t constantly put me down just doesn’t think driving is one of my better skills put it that way. I’m glad he was laughing though than being annoyed.

Fairenuff · 03/11/2018 22:07

Don't be stupid Holly. Yes, accidents happen but crashing into a bollard for no reason is driving without due care and attention.

millkcowmama · 03/11/2018 22:09

Cheers fairenuff

Fairenuff · 03/11/2018 22:10

What do you expect. Did you come here for a pat on the back. What if it had been a person rather than a bollard?

TroubleComesInSmallPackages · 03/11/2018 22:11

I think you'll find it wasn't your fault as you were distracted by a rogue cat appearing and have to serve suddenly Wink

Fairenuff · 03/11/2018 22:12

Yeah great. That's funny. Hit something with my car. Lols

Hmm
millkcowmama · 03/11/2018 22:13

fairenuff no I didn’t want a pat on the back but equally I didn’t want someone on their high horse either

OP posts:
Fairenuff · 03/11/2018 22:15

So what did you want? Why are you here boasting about putting lives in danger?

Ameliarose16 · 03/11/2018 22:17

I got a brand new car last week and reversed into a bollard- £400 down the drain!!

millkcowmama · 03/11/2018 22:17

How am I boasting ? And I didn’t put anyone’s life in danger

OP posts:
Fairenuff · 03/11/2018 22:19

You were not in control of your car. You hit something that you didn't mean to hit. It could have been a person. Why do you feel the need to post about it here if you don't think it's funny/boasting?

millkcowmama · 03/11/2018 22:20

amelliarose oh no! Just back from mat leave this month so don’t think will be getting any work done on it. Luckily it’s just scratches
