What the ACTUAL FUCK? A hair?? THERE?!?

MawkishTwaddle · 02/11/2018 11:11

I've just plucked what can only be described as a white pube out of the middle of my FOREHEAD!

My FOREHEAD!

Is this some kind of peri-menopausal pisstake nobody bothered to tell me about?

A whisker on holiday?

An eyebrow hair gone rogue?

Or the first stage of my transition into a fat unicorn let's face it, rhinoceros?

Please tell me I'm not alone in finding hair where hair should never be.

Should read dermablading and bristly hairs.

RyelandSheep · 02/11/2018 23:50

If it’s any comfort I had two thick dark hairs just to the right of the nipple of my right boob. They were there for years and then one day I realised I couldn’t remember when I’d last plucked the buggers out. They just disappeared at some time in my 40s (which was when my peri-menopause symptoms started). So the random forehead hair might well decide to abandon ship of its own free will. I didn’t get any others there but the facial hair id had lasered in my 30s came back with a vengeance and I had to laser my moustache, sideburns and beard once again! I am NEVER coming back female ever again.

FastWindow · 02/11/2018 23:59

See now that's odd. I have had the mad dark randim nipple hairs since I was 14 (and that was 30 years ago, of course I couldn't tell anyone or Google it) so for 30 years I just pulled them and died inside.

But they don't grow anymore. I'm 45. Not sure whether to feel delighted or old.

If I pull my nasal hIr, a cold sore comes through 😵

AlexaAmbidextra · 03/11/2018 05:14

Sadsadsady. The word you want is purulent. 😄

QOD · 03/11/2018 07:01

I once found a patch of about 6 long coarse hairs on my bum cheek! Nowhere near the crack of doom
They’ve never come back
I get a hairy chin and sometimes have found 2cm long hairs right where I only plucked the day before
No hairy nipples thankfully

Have got PCOS and associated infertility though. Dammit

MawkishTwaddle · 03/11/2018 08:28

Betsy86 I'm with you on the hairy nostrils front. It came as a shock - I thought it only happened to men. How naive was I?

I use a nasal hair trimmer. Shockingly, I find I can breathe easier after. It must be like the Forest of Dean up there.

Ok, I'm just going to take a deep breath and mention fingerwigs.

Anyone?

OP posts:
KnockMeDown · 03/11/2018 08:34

I love threads like these, they make me feel normal Grin

KnockMeDown · 03/11/2018 08:35

Toewigs, Mawkish?

MawkishTwaddle · 03/11/2018 08:37

Yes, toewigs too.

Plus a line of hair that helpfully leads from ankle to big toe, in case anyone might miss the toewigs.

Sigh.

OP posts:
CigarsofthePharoahs · 03/11/2018 08:59

I had a "repeater" zit on my chin that turned out to be harbouring five thick black ingrown hairs. Ick.
My top lip and chin are epilated regularly now. Gits will keep growing back. Every now and again a thick black nasty will appear on my cheek and doesn't like being removed from its home. Last time I swear it made an audible pop when I removed it.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 03/11/2018 09:44

Talking of random eyebrow hairs, I have one that is over an inch long and very ginger. It's like copper fuse wire. I've left that one in though, because most of my eyebrow hairs are very fine and pale, so it adds a bit of definition! Grin

dreaming174 · 03/11/2018 11:34

Wow I thought I was a freak as I never see anyone else with this but maybe everyone is plucking furiously.

I have thick dark ones on my nipples, neck, recently sprouting on my chin, and a few random long ones on my cheeks. I've started having them layered but new ones keep appearing!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 03/11/2018 12:09

Cracking up at the typo that produced "layered" for the hairs on your cheek, rather than lasered - I'm now imagining you having to blow-dry your layered cheek hairs into a style! Grin

Ragevibration · 03/11/2018 12:23

Urgh.

I have 3 horrible really fine white hairs that appear overnight suddenly 5cms long (I check for them every day!). One each side of the corner of my jaw so to speak and one right in the middle of my right cheek.

Apparently not visible in any mirrors at home but the bathroom at work shows them blowing about freely from the air from the hand dryer.

I also found one on my arm the other day a good 2 inches long whilst driving home.

They aren't like normal hairs - they pull out very easily.

Add that to the two actual thick man's beard hairs that sprout from my chin.

I'm only 28. Cries.

funnelfanjo · 03/11/2018 12:31

A bit concerned as I think I do the unconscious chin hair hunt/stroke at work all the time - if I find one I can often pinch the bugger with my fingernails to get it out. Age is a bastard - some days I can feel myself sliding into the office role of being that slightly bonkers older woman doing odd things. The ones we used to laugh about when fresh new graduates. Maybe it’s karma. Sad

Tartyflette · 03/11/2018 18:41

Betsey I got one of these. Painless and reasonably efficient <a class="break-all" href="https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3336984?cmpid=GS001&$ja=tsid:59157%7Cacid:480-316-7430%7Ccid:199887993%7Cagid:17470601073%7Ctid:aud-484139256621:pla-121785186033%7Ccrid:74692317393%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:12507642169313405882%7Cdvc:t%7Cadp:1o1%7Cmt:%7Cloc:9045029&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxYvouO-43gIVzJPtCh3ezw8bEAQYASABEgJW9fD_BwEwww.argos.co.uk/product/3336984?cmpid=GS001&$ja=tsid:59157%7Cacid:480-316-7430%7Ccid:199887993%7Cagid:17470601073%7Ctid:aud-484139256621:pla-121785186033%7Ccrid:74692317393%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:12507642169313405882%7Cdvc:t%7Cadp:1o1%7Cmt:%7Cloc:9045029&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxYvouO-43gIVzJPtCh3ezw8bEAQYASABEgJW9fD_BwE*" rel="nofollow" target="blank">www.argos.co.uk/product/3336984?cmpid=GS001&$ja=tsid:59157%7Cacid:480-316-7430%7Ccid:199887993%7Cagid:17470601073%7Ctid:aud-484139256621:pla-121785186033%7Ccrid:74692317393%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:12507642169313405882%7Cdvc:t%7Cadp:1o1%7Cmt:%7Cloc:9045029&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxYvouO-43gIVzJPtCh3ezw8bEAQYASABEgJW9fD_BwEwww.argos.co.uk/product/3336984?cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59157%7Cacid:480-316-7430%7Ccid:199887993%7Cagid:17470601073%7Ctid:aud-484139256621:pla-121785186033%7Ccrid:74692317393%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:12507642169313405882%7Cdvc:t%7Cadp:1o1%7Cmt:%7Cloc:9045029&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxYvouO-43gIVzJPtCh3ezw8bEAQYASABEgJW9fD_BwE*

Ikabod · 03/11/2018 18:43

I get a whisker on my cheek every now again. I never notice it until it's about 1cm long (which is quite long for a cheek-hair)!

Betsy86 · 03/11/2018 21:38

op and tartyflette thanks for the nose advice im definitely going to invest in that trimmer..... am now intrigued to feel how it will be to breathe afterwards lol.
I genuinely never really paid much attention to my nose until the other day then thought gosh is it meant to be left this way... im going with no lol.

Im with u on the finger and toewigs...... honestly how did life become so hairy!!!

Doggorun · 03/11/2018 22:05

DH had a hair growing out of his forehead. We decided to grow it out for a laugh Blush

It got to a good inch or two before we plucked it. We opened a bottle of wine that night and raised a glass to it. It was hilarious.

PerverseConverse · 03/11/2018 23:33

Ah this thread is ace! It's reminded me that I once pulled a long hair out of my back. Was many years ago now and I reached up to scratch an itch and there it was. Very fine, very blonde, like baby hair. I've had a random thick hair on the back of my left thigh since my early 20s. I can sometimes grab it with my fingers or else tweeze it out but I usually get cramp in my ribs trying to see the bastard. Shortly after giving birth to my third child I looked in the mirror and saw a long, thick black hair growing out of my neck. It was so obvious and must have been there ages. I now routinely check. I get a long, fine, blonde one out of my ear lobe sometimes too. It's baby fine though. My mum has eyebrow pubes which I kindly pluck for her. They are reddish but she's a brunette. Or was before she went grey. I'm somewhere between red, blonde and fair and get black hairs on my head and black pubes. Wtf? Really thick too. Or really thick dark red head hairs. I spend considerable time plucking the 15 or so white hairs out of my head. They are well hidden and I have to search for them. I'm 42 and not ready to dye my hair so those buggers have to go. I love a good plucking session.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 04/11/2018 11:34

Just took out another chin bristle this evening. Wasn't a sign of it yesterday, but this eve, there it was, a thick coppery brown bristle, 1cm long.
Fuck knows how that happens!

bumblebee39 · 04/11/2018 11:37

One Grows from my cheek one grows from my chin. Came with the first greys. Not even 30 yet 🙈

SapphireSeptember · 04/11/2018 13:18

I have a nice little copse of nipple hairs that I pluck regularly. One always comes up as a whitehead first, yuck. I also have fine dark hairs in my cleavage, but I ignore them. And I get hair between my eyebrows, which is a pain to get rid of.
