What the ACTUAL FUCK? A hair?? THERE?!?

I've just plucked what can only be described as a white pube out of the middle of my FOREHEAD!

My FOREHEAD!

Is this some kind of peri-menopausal pisstake nobody bothered to tell me about?

A whisker on holiday?

An eyebrow hair gone rogue?

Or the first stage of my transition into a fat unicorn let's face it, rhinoceros?

Please tell me I'm not alone in finding hair where hair should never be.

DD had one random hair growing on her arm that was at 10cm long. She was upset when it fell off.

GoopWrithing · 02/11/2018 11:51

I do have PCOS, and a close relationship with my good tweezers. At least on my chin and upper lip the hair appears appropriately short and stubly and can be removed like that - instead of growing whiskers mysteriously overnight!

You might be morphing into a gorilla which would be excellent as you could bellow a lot and the fur will keep you cosy.

Had this same conversation at kid’s tennis lesson today, where the 40-something mums sort out the world’s hot issues in 45 minutes.

Learnt that for some reason private spaces like bathroom mirrors do not show up weird random sticky outy hairs. Known fact. You have to be in your car, glancing towards your reversing mirror. Obviously works on facial/neck hairs only, unless you’re nimble. The Lady Wisdom is to keep tweezers in your glovebox, and use opportunities in traffic jams to discretely audit and deal with the hairs.

Or, pay your kids £1 to look you over. And make sure they understand the £1 comes back if they yell ‘found one!’ in the supermarket queue.

a thick long white one, right-corner of my mouth. I don't seem to see it until it's quite long...or it grows over night!!

TooTrueToBeGood · 02/11/2018 11:59

Just be grateful you're not a old middle-aged man. I've got hairs sprouting everywhere except for where they should be. Fingers, nose, eyebrows like a werewolf if I don't trim them every other day and now my hairdresser has taken to routinely running the clippers round the insides of my ears.

brizzledrizzle · 02/11/2018 12:05

I have recently noticed long very dark (I'm a redhead) hairs on my arms. I can't even shave the fuckers off or I'll freeze.

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 02/11/2018 12:06

Totally nuts.

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 02/11/2018 12:10

Ooh, I have a long white hair (and the rest of my hair is very dark) in the middle of my shoulder blades. It's been there for decades - every time I pluck it it grows back.

I recently saw I have white eyelash as well, it's a sort of pathetic mallen streak.

sadsadsady · 02/11/2018 12:13

My friend gets a pussy spot on his eyeball then after a few weeks it bursts and a hair comes out.

ALemonyPea · 02/11/2018 12:13

I have a single white hair that grows out the middle of my forehead. I have a pair of tweezers in my car to pluck it as I can usually only see it in the car mirror.

sadsadsady · 02/11/2018 12:13

Um puss filled rather than minge.

How do you spell puss-ey?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/11/2018 12:13

a thick long white one, right-corner of my mouth. I don't seem to see it until it's quite long...or it grows over night!!

I get this too.

I've always been a Hairy Lady, but the transmogrification into a walrus is comparatively recent.

SawnUpLooRoll · 02/11/2018 12:14

I have a white one in the middle of my forehead too! Do you think we're related?

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 02/11/2018 12:16

@sadsadsady on his eyeball?!! And hair comes out?? That's amazing! Does it hurt?

Tinty · 02/11/2018 12:22

OP Apparently it is a thing that random face hairs grow anywhere they fancy on your upper lip and chin if you are over a certain or any age.

What they do to catch you out is, they grow coiled up and then spring out overnight apparently at a couple of cm's long, which is why you don't see them growing Grin.

ACatsNoHelpWithThat · 02/11/2018 12:22

Since I hit 40 I get one thick black hair sprouting under my chin, I'm sure it's not there one day then literally a cm-long monstrosity the next. I've started getting bright white random eyebrow hairs too, wtf is all that about?!

Oblomov18 · 02/11/2018 12:22

Wild hairs. Bane of my life!

MistressoftheYoniverse · 02/11/2018 12:26

I had one, well have one...Hmmhaven't seen it for quite a while ...a very thin long blonde hair growing out the end of my frickin NOSE Confused

FairyFace · 02/11/2018 12:27

I get hairs growing on my neck that feel like little pieces of plastic, if I feel one, I have to run for the tweezers it gives me anxiety, I get hair extensions and my dh always jokes, why can't the hair on your head grow as long /quick/ strong as your neck and chin hairs. Thanks for that !

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 02/11/2018 12:31

I get errant hairs. I get one in the dip between my nose and eye.
I get one in my cleavage.
One on my jaw line.

Get on my absolute nerves.

3TresTrois · 02/11/2018 12:32

I get a single black whisker growing above my lip. It really is a whisker, too. So thick and wiry. Takes a bit of effort to yank it out with tweezers. Maybe I’m turning in to a cat? Grin

smoothieooo · 02/11/2018 12:32

I have a thick, black chin hair that I look for daily. It goes from no hair, no hair, no hair then, all of a sudden, 2 inches fecking long and starting to curl! I check in a terrifying, back-lit magnifying mirror which is enormously depressing to look into.

Added to that, I have a proper peri-menopausal peach fuzz face. I look like a Labrador in certain lights but if I wax or epilate it makes me spotty. Joy.

SheWhoDaresGins2 · 02/11/2018 12:33

I get the odd chin hair since having DS. I swear they are white with black tips, ombre, fashionable chin hair lol I'm regularly at the mirror armed with tweezers on the hunt as they literally just seem to appear from nowhere at any given time of the day.
